Tempering Steele with Hellfire - Nova Steele VS Ashley Morgan

Unread post by Afterhoursclub »

Standard Match:
Nova Steele VS Ashley Morgan
Rules: Victory by pinfall, submission, or knockout.

For Ashley, things had become routine: training during the week, coming to the arena for the shows, defeating some poor soul in a match, and absolutely dominating the competition, returning home and resting. Rinse and repeat. It was simple, and Ashley loved it.

Sure, the redhead had experienced more than a few hiccups in her plans along the way, but knowing she always had the chance to get back in the ring and unleash her frustrations on another unfortunate opponent made everything worth it! And tonight, she was eager to once again fulfill her role in the food chain of the LAW rankings. She had been booked in a match against another heavyweight who was causing waves everywhere.

"Nova Steele" the redhead smirked, "What, we playing super heroes, now?" Ashley joked, adjusting her gloves and adding the final touches to her ring gear. Just thinking about extravagant and complicated gimmicks was enough to annoy the British gal, but trying to imagine the person behind the name? Ashley was already raging even before the start of the match. But then again, it never took much to anger her.

She stormed out of the locker rooms and headed toward the entrance ramp, and as soon as the speakers played her music theme: Enemies by Eleine (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXUKNXvbBaQ). Ashley pushed the curtain and appeared on the main stage, to a loud pop from the crowd. She was a heel, but her antics and "zero nonsense" attitude had rapidly boosted her popularity. However, she would die before she started to smile and take pictures with the fans.

She stood there for a moment, glaring fiercely at anyone who met her gaze—an ever-present scowl on her face.

"Entering the ring, from Cambridge, England - Weighing 175 pounds - She is The Red Menace, Ashley Morgan!"

The imposing redhead began her descent, a loud noise with every step as her boots hit hard on the ramp's metal cover. Once reaching the ringside, Ashley turned toward the steel ladder, ignoring all the people begging for a handshake, and quickly walked up and into the ring, passing between the second and the top ropes.

Ashley stood tall in the middle of the squared circle, arms crossed, with her eyes glued to the entrance ramp. Waiting for her opponent to show up.

Starcourt - To Hell and Back
A searing flare of blue light streaked down the ramp like a meteor, hitting the stage with a thunderous crack of pyro that bloomed into a shower of silver sparks. And in that starlight stood

, her figure silhouetted, head bowed slightly, pink hair spilling forward.

The crowd’s roar swelled as she lifted her chin, the lights catching the steel in her eyes. She took a moment, just a moment, to sweep her gaze over the sea of fans, her hand lifting slowly to press over her heart, before extending outward in salute. The fans closest to the barricade reached back with hands outstretched, and Nova stepped closer to the edge of the ramp, brushing palms with them as she started her walk.

Her stride was powerful but unhurried, each step radiating poise, every movement deliberate. But unlike her colder debuts, tonight she leaned into the crowd, her fingers grazing outstretched hands as she passed, her gaze finding pockets of young fans holding homemade signs and pointing to them, a small nod breaking her otherwise solemn expression into a flicker of warmth.

At ringside, she paused before the apron, tilting her head back to take in the towering structure of the ring under the lights. With one strong pull, she leapt to the apron, gripping the top rope and turning back to the fans, raising her fist high. The eruption of cheers answered her like thunder.

She slipped between the ropes with fluid grace, coming to stand before Ashley. Nova raised one open palm high toward the rafters, fingers spread wide, as though she were drawing down the very energy of the cosmos. The lights dimmed, focusing a glow of a single spotlight around her as she held the pose, face upturned, expression earnest. With a deliberate roll of her shoulders, she brought her hand back to her chest, pressing it to her heart, pretending to absorb that cosmic power into herself.

The gesture was sharp, dramatic, in its precision, yet played with complete sincerity. To the crowd, it wasn’t arrogance. It was inspiration. A heroine charging herself with the same light she promised to fight with. Her steely blue eyes fixed themselves on Ashley. "From the edge of the galaxy to the center of this ring, Justice has called to me, and I have answered. Tell me, hellion, what calling brings you before me tonight?"

"The hell is this now?"

Ashley frowned the moment she saw the lights changing, then the music hit- A pyro explosion went off, and suddenly, in the middle of the stage, a pink-haired girl appeared: It was her opponent.

Nova seemed to have an entire routine prepared for her entrance, and now Ashley was forced to watch it entirely before they could get down to business. She stood there, arms crossed in the middle of the ring, her eyes fixed on the eager heavyweight walking down the ramp, taking her sweet time greeting every single person in the crowd.

"Did she practice this or what?" Ashley's expression revealed her deep annoyance at the situation. Not that she cared to hide it to begin with. Looking at the pinkete walk and gesture in an almost choreographed manner. It nearly appeared as if everyone present in the arena that night enjoyed the show... everyone but Ashley.

"Finally!" Ashley thought to herself, her patience running thin by the time Nova jumped over the apron, "Can you please enter... and she's posing again..." Ashley lowered her head, the tip of her boot going up and down rapidly on the ring canvas.

After what felt like an eternity for the British gal. Both fighters were finally standing face-to-face in the squared circle.

After a few more instants of show, Nova turned toward Ashley; she had a couple of words for the redhead. There, Ashley uncrossed her arms, getting ready while cracking her knuckles:

"What calling?" she smirked. "Very well, Captain Dumbass! I guess the calling of my boot, crashing hard like a meteor, right on your ass!"

“A most unorthodox calling, Hellion.” Nova tilted her chin, squinting ever so slightly at Ashley with an expression that hovered between judgment and curiosity. Her voice carried the calm authority of someone who believed every word she spoke was gospel, a heroine proclaiming truth rather than trading banter. Hands settled firmly on her hips, her posture exuded confidence and command, her stance a statue of purpose as the crowd swelled with anticipation.

“With a glance I can see you are among my less sinister adversaries,” she continued, the faintest curl at the corner of her lips betraying both disdain and respect. “But you must be put to the mat all the same. Perhaps in defeat, you will discover the virtue of humility.” The words came clipped and measured, like the pronouncement of a judge delivering sentence.

There was something magnetic about Nova’s presence, an aura that extended beyond her imposing frame. She didn’t just stand in the ring, she filled it, every gesture steeped in gravity. Her curt nod toward Ashley was deliberate, a warrior’s acknowledgment before battle, a small shard of respect that only made her challenge sharper.

The bell rang.

Nova sprang forward in an instant, the shift from poised heroine to battle-hardened grappler executed with seamless energy. She crouched low, shoulders hunched, arms raised in a tried-and-true stance that screamed discipline. Her boots thudded against the canvas as she lunged, aiming to lock Ashley into a collar-and-elbow tie-up. Strength would meet strength as Nova leaned in, eager to measure the raw power of her fiery opponent against her own, testing not just muscle but will in the very first clash of their encounter. It was clear that for all of the strange pageantry around Nova’s personality, her power and technique were the real deal.

Ashley had to admit, for all her pomposity and over-the-top theatrics, Nova carried a certain presence with her in the ring; there was no point in denying that fact. She took her role in wrestling seriously; her level-headed reaction to the redhead's teasing words proved as much. And that was enough for Ashley. Of course, hell would freeze over before any praise escaped the red menace's lips.

The time for talking was over. Her annoyance vanished as she delved into a state of deep concentration, her mind set only on the task ahead. Underestimating opponents had cost her dearly in the past, and Ashley was not one to make the same mistakes over and over again.

The redhead matched her opponent's stance, rolling her shoulders as her boots dug deep into the ring canvas, her gaze burning like brimstone, meeting the pink-haired girl's eyes. She gritted her teeth, readying herself for the moment the bell rang. Her crimson locks fell over both of her shoulders as her knees bent, her body going low. Like a feral beast preparing to strike as soon as the opportunity presented itself. The anticipation, the build-up before the start- she had been here many times before. She had clashed with giants, and she had brought them down. And tonight, it was just another day at the office...

"She wants a fight, I'll give her a war!" thinking to herself.

Then -DING- the bell was struck.

The Red Menace charged forward, colliding with her titanic opponent in the opening clash of the encounter, a test of strength... and a test of wills...

It was time to show this "hero" the true might of the Red Menace. Ashley pushed forward with all of her strength, decided to come up victorious on this challenge. She placed one foot back for support and continued to press on...

The bell rang and steel met flame.

The collision shook the canvas as Ashley and Nova crashed together in the center of the ring, bodies locking in a collar-and-elbow tie-up that felt less like wrestling and more like two tectonic plates colliding. The impact sent a shudder through the ropes, the thrum of the mat echoing in their ears as they grappled chest-to-chest, muscle straining against muscle.

For a heartbeat, they were immovable. Two forces carved from raw willpower, locked tight, their arms flexing, shoulders bunching, and their breath hissing through clenched teeth. The squeak of rubber soles skidding across canvas punctuated the struggle, each woman planting and replanting their boots to keep ground. Already a faint sheen of sweat began to bead at their temples, catching the harsh lights above and lending their contest a glimmer like steel in a forge.

Nova leaned in hard, her frame braced and coiled, biceps straining as she tried to shove Ashley back a step. Every fiber of her body worked to muscle her opponent off balance, but Ashley’s power was undeniable. The redhead’s low stance and stocky leverage began to tell, inch by inch. Nova’s calves trembled with the resistance, her shoulders edging backward despite the effort. The crowd’s roar rose with the shifting tide, sensing the heroine’s feet slipping, her heels scuffing against the mat as she was slowly forced toward retreat.

But Nova Steele wasn’t about to let herself be manhandled without answering back.

With a sudden, sharp exhale, she dropped her weight low, breaking the rigid deadlock in an instant. Her arms snapped down and apart, ducking beneath Ashley’s grasp. The separation lasted no more than a breath, but it was all Nova needed. Twisting her hips with brutal precision, she launched a heavy knee upward, driving it hard toward the pit of Ashley’s stomach, aiming to bury it deep and steal the wind from her foe’s lungs in one punishing blow.

Two unstoppable forces were colliding with all their might in the middle of the squared circle, a titanic battle that seemed to make the entire ring structure tremble as both commanding figures battled to impose their will over the other, neither conceding even a single inch. Grunts and snarls filled the air as the effort made by both wrestlers became apparent mere moments after the starting bell: tense muscles, gritted teeth, skin glistening under the bright arena lights. Their eyes met, waging their own personal war in the midst of the struggle. Ashley's gaze was steady, stern, and firm; she had no doubt what her objective was: to subdue her rival. To take control of the encounter and set the pace for the rest of the match. She had the skill and the power to do so. She had to!

A faint smirk found its way onto her features when she started to feel movement. First just a little... then more. She was slowly starting to overwhelm the pink-haired gal. Ashley continued to push forward. However, the redhead's mettle was about to be tested soon-

Ashley noticed a shift in Nova's positioning, lowering herself too quickly for Ashley to react; she was unable to stop what came next: A hefty knee strike dug deep into her core, slamming hard against her abdominal muscles.

"Aughh!" Ashley's eyes bulged, air was quickly expelled from her mouth. For a brief moment, her vision turned blurry, but she pushed her way through the pain; she didn't falter, for giving in at such a critical moment could prove ruinous so early in the encounter. The redhead stood her ground, still feeling the effects of the strike...

"You'll need more than that!" she whispered, her voice low and menacing. The Brit took advantage of their proximity and pulled her arm back, keeping close to her opponent, and in a fraction of a second, she fired back a violent elbow aimed at Nova's cheek. Battling fire with fire.

If her attack was successful, Ashley would seek to repeat the formula, raining more heavy elbows all over Nova's features until her opponent was left stunned.

The first elbow cracked across Nova’s cheek like a gunshot, snapping her head sideways with a spray of misted sweat. Her jaw clenched tight as her teeth rattled, the sharp sting of bone on bone drawing a low growl from the heroine’s throat. Before she could reset her footing, Ashley’s second blow came barreling in, thudding flush against the opposite side of her face. Nova’s body jolted with the impact, boots skidding across the canvas as she staggered back half a step, the crowd audibly wincing at the violence of it.

Her vision blurred for a heartbeat, white spots flashing across her gaze, but the pinkette’s spirit burned hotter than the pain. Ashley wound up for a third strike, that sharp elbow cocking back like a piston, but this time Nova ducked just enough, the air brushing across the top of her head as the blow swung past.
She came up immediately with her answer.

Nova’s body uncoiled like a spring, her legs and core firing upward as she launched a brutal uppercut straight for Ashley’s jaw. Her knuckles buried deep, driving up with bone-crunching force, the sound echoing through the arena like a hammer meeting the anvil. The sheer torque of the strike sent her own shoulders twisting, her chest brushing against Ashley’s as the full momentum surged upward.

The crowd erupted, the collision ringing sharp and heavy. Nova’s breath hissed between her teeth, chest heaving as her fist remained curled, her knuckles throbbing with the satisfaction of the strike. If that hadn’t been enough to stagger the redhead, the heroine readied herself for the counter blow.

Nova didn’t speak this time. She didn’t need to. The echo of her fist and the fire in her eyes said everything.

-SMACK-

Ashley's elbow came crashing down onto the pinkette's features, a savage display of violence and aggression, then came the second one. Another loud crack filled the air inside the ring. The start of this bout was starting to resemble more of a street fight, or an underground encounter, than an actual professional wrestling match, a testament to the sheer will and raw power that both battling figures had. Ashley coiled her arm back, decided to deliver a third and even stronger elbow on her opponent, but Nova was not going to let herself be turned into a training dummy.

Ashley's attack found nothing but empty air, seeing Nova dodging and quickly getting on the offense again.

-CRACK- The Red Menace was struck by a thunderous uppercut that sent her a few steps back, while spit and traces of blood flew out of her lips, she felt a ringing noise in her head, and an instant metallic taste filled her mouth. She brought one hand up over her face, a sharp pain coursing through her jaw.

She kept her eyes on her opponent, however. Her gaze burned like fire, but behind her anger, something else hid... A smile appeared on her features, revealed only when she lowered her hand, a faint red streak running down her lips, which she wiped away rather quickly. She was enjoying this.

"Well, then..." a malicious tone in her voice, "Isn't this fun?"

Ashley didn't charge back at her opponent. She cracked her knuckles and adopted her initial stance again: Arms at her sides, hands open, with long, sharp nails in full display.

"Come on, Sunshine! Let's have more fun together!" gesturing for Nova to get closer.

Nova held her ground after the crack of her uppercut, chest rising with heavy breath, but her eyes gleaming as the Red Menace reeled back. She rolled her shoulders and struck a defiant pose, arms flexed just enough to show she was still brimming with fight. The heroine gave a quick shuffle of her boots, rubber squeaking against the canvas as she lightened her stance, bouncing subtly on her toes. Ashley was strong, stubborn, and clearly enjoying the brawl. Meeting her blow for blow wasn’t going to cut it. Nova would need to be smarter, sharper, make every strike count.

"A hellion forged in the fires of battle may be no easy mark..." Her gaze locked on Ashley, a smirk tugging faintly at her lips as she dipped into motion again. She surged forward, pink hair flying, boots pounding the mat in a thunderous charge. At the last second, however, her heel dug in with a sharp stomp, halting her straight-line momentum as her whole frame twisted. Her body whipped around in a sudden, fluid pivot, power gathering in her core as she spun. "But all things in time shall fall!"

Out of the turn, her arm cut through the air like a blade, shoulder driving forward, bicep tightening, forearm sweeping in a brutal arc. The rolling lariat came crashing down with all her weight and momentum behind it, a cleaving strike meant to scythe Ashley clean off her base and shake the ring with the impact. The crowd’s roar swelled, a wave cresting on the heroine’s sudden burst of ferocity.
