Astrid Ostberg had been laying low for some time now. Her last LAW match had been a year ago, when she took on Ambre Brault at Fight the LAW 3 - a match that had put the young French hopeful to the test, seeing her defeat, but earning her Astrid's respect in the process when she saw the lengths she was willing to push herself to in pursuit of her dream. But in spite of it all, a few things hung over Astrid's head. She failed to defeat Astrid Arvidsson for the Openweight Championship, and before that, she had lost the Heavyweight Championship to Alaina Sanders. Astrid couldn't help but ask herself if she had begun to fall from grace. She used to be an icon of the company - the heavyweight that the entire division looked up to; who valiantly fought to uphold the honor of wrestling every time she got in the ring. But if she hadn't been able to hold onto her glory, could she really claim to be the champion she once was?

Astrid had told herself she just needed to focus on her personal life - she was, after all, growing closer to her stepdaughter Sarabeth, as well as getting involved more in other promotions. It was only natural that she wouldn't have as much time for LAW then. But she knew, at the back of her mind, that it was all just an excuse. For some reason or another, she was losing her touch. Now, after a long and successful title run, Astrid found herself facing down the looming threat of irrelevance - and she had been running away from it.

But she realized too that she couldn't sit back and let that happen. She needed to get back in the ring, to prove she still had it in her! And tonight, she would be doing just that, against a veteran wrestler who she had known and admired all her life - Drasna Selinofoto! It would be an honor for Astrid to share the ring with such an esteemed name - but it would be a greater honor still to prove that she could take her on and win. Astrid just hoped that she could live up to expectations!

"Coming first to the ring, from Stavanger, Norway! Standing at 6'1, weighing 188 pounds! ASTRID OSTBERG-ASHWORTH!!"

Astrid's music started to play, and soon after, the Norsewoman stepped out onto the entrance ramp, flexing her biceps proudly as she stood tall and thrust out her chest. No matter what she felt on the inside, she was still going to put on her bravest face and confront whatever the future had in store for her. She was pleased to see that they were still cheering for her...but, at the same time, she had to ask herself; were those cheers as loud as they had been when she still held the title? She reminded herself that that couldn't stop her now - as she made her way to the ring and slipped through the ropes, she had to focus on the match ahead of her.

Drasna sighed softly in preparation for the bout ahead of her tonight. Since her loss to Alaina Sanders-Haines in a non title bout she had been looking to build herself back up and regain momentum, hoping to earn another shot at the woman and the belt. As such she was grateful to be pitted against the now former champion who wasn't beaten properly for the belt. Thus making this the perfect opportunity for her tonight to prove her mettle against such a worthy opponent. making sure her new attire was on an din place on her body Drasna would nod to herself feeling confident in herself tonight.

Getting up and heading towards the entrance curtain Drasna would wait there for a few moments using it as a last chance to mentally prepare, knowing that she'd need it. After all Astrid was looking to make a statement tonight as well, to which Drasna would not let it happen at her expense so easily. No if she wanted this win then it would take all of her resolve and strength in both body and will. Finally though her music would start up, prompting Drasna to step out through the curtain and out among the crowd who began cheering in response!

Stomping her foot into the mat Drasna would raise her arms in the air as the crowd cheered in response, whooping and cheering at the appearance of the milf. Coming down the ramp with a confident strut in her step Drasna would smile and nod at the fans as she passed until she made it to the ring. Hopping onto the apron she would smile out at the crowd before slipping between the ropes and into the ring. Approaching Astrid in the center of the ring Drasna would smile and hold her hand out for a hand shake with the blond before the bout could begin.

For whatever anxieties she might be hiding, Drasna was going to outwardly exude confidence tonight. It showed in her stance and the way she carried herself, and in how her new outfit both showed off her body and posited her as a golden goddess. Astrid, too, sucked in a breath and held herself high, pushing out her chest as she readied her stance. She still had the thoughts of her previous matches, and her failures to live up to her own expectations, eating away at her at the back of her mind...but she couldn't let that stop her now, she told herself. She had her chance to turn everything around if she could prove she was capable of overcoming a well-respected veteran of the squared circle - she just had to hold on to that promise of a brighter future. And above all, she couldn't let Drasna think that defeating her would be easy!

Ironically, both women went into this match thinking the other was more prepared than they were. But neither was going to let their hesitation show through. Seeing Drasna offer her hand, Astrid stepped up to take it and returned a firm but measured shake. "I grew up watching you, you know," she explained. "To get to share the ring with you now is an honor..." Astrid smiled to Drasna...but at the same time, there was that unspoken worry. That what-if - what if she couldn't measure up to her?

Approaching the former heavyweight champion of LAW with a hand of respect out for her to take Drasna couldn't help a sense of deja vue from over taking her. After all this wasn't the first time she had fought someone with the last name Ostberg and it wasn't cause it was a common surname. Back when she was but a fledgling Drasna fought against Lars Ostberg, Astrid's father, in more than a few matches, the two going down as having one of the best intergender rivalries in Euro wrestling history.

So now to be against that man's daughter, roles almost fully reversed with Drasna as the the veteran, well she had to admit it did make her feel a bit old, but at the same time it filled her with a sense of pride. A feeling that was stoked even more at Astrid's words which made Drasna smile softly in return.

"The honor is all mine Astrid. I know you're father would be proud, just like I am of the wrestler you are." Drasna said with a smile before letting go and pulling her hand back as her smile shifted to more of a smirk. "That being said... I'm sure he will understand when I defeat you tonight." Drasna said, rolling her shoulders back and looking as big as possible against her opponent.

Astrid was well aware of the potent legacy Drasna shared with her family - even now, years later, she could practically feel it in the air, and she stood a little taller as a smile came to her face. She knew perfectly well that she was standing right where her father stood, in the ring across from Drasna Selinofoto. Knowing all that, she couldn't help but feel her heart beat a little bit faster with excitement. She had seen Drasna's matches with her father time and time again growing up, and she had been captivated by every second, with every move from both of the combatants. Drasna had always stood as one of her dream opponents, and now that dream was finally becoming a reality. Now, Astrid could feel all the expectations of the people resting on her shoulders, hoping she could live up to her father's exploits. Just as much of that pressure came from her own expectations of herself. It was a lot to struggle under, especially when she already blamed herself for not being good enough to hold on to her title...

But then, Drasna had faith in Astrid to live up to the example Lars had set. Hearing such praise from a woman she looked up to and respected made her smile grow a little wider...but her expression hardened a moment later, when Drasna insisted she would win the match regardless. At that, Astrid let out a huff, balling a fist and planting it against her palm as she took a step back. This was no time to focus on the past. Here, Drasna was going to give her a fight, and it was up to Astrid to rise to the challenge. But she would do that, no questions asked.

"Oh, he'll understand something, all right - he'll understand you never had a chance!" the Norsewoman added with a chuckle. No matter what happened, she had to do her best - and she had to have faith her best would be enough!

*DING DING DING*

As the bell rang, Astrid sank back into a stance, bending at the knees and raising her hands. She would waste no time in shoving herself toward Drasna, driving her shoulders forward into the Greek woman's own as she grabbed for her wrists to try and push her back with all her might, entering a test of strength!

Drasna could tell that Astrid was a bit caught up in the moment facing off against her, not that the older woman could blame her. After all she knew from talks with Lars that Astrid was a fan and not meeting up with her sooner in LAW was one of her bigger regrets, one that she was partially looking to rectify tonight.

Still that being said while she was certainly happy to have this moment with the blonde she wanted to reiterate that she fully intended on emerging the victor. Something that Astrid seemed to understand and offer her own reciprocating response towards making Drasna smiled proudly before the match even began.

"Good... I look forward to proving you wrong then." Drasna said confidently as she then backed up a few steps herself and placed her fists up in preparation until the bell rang. Approaching her foe Drasna could tell from Astrid's open palms exactly what the Norwegian woman wanted and smirked in response, happy to give it to her. Reaching out and grasping onto Astrid's hands Drasna would push forward while meeting Astrid's shoulders with her own, pushing against her and going all out right from the start!

Astrid was eager to face off against one of the wrestlers she had admired from an early age, and who had always been a dream opponent for her from the day she started training. But the Norsewoman knew just the same that she wasn't here to sit around and fangirl - she had a match to attend to, and just like Drasna, she was determined to win it! Her eyes narrowed into a glare as she got into a stance, her muscles stiffening as she raised her hands to take hold of Drasna's own. Drasna wasn't one of her idols any more - she was an opponent just as much as any other. And when Astrid was looking to reclaim her good name as a capable wrestler still worthy of the spotlight, it was more important than ever that she bring forth her best efforts!

She hissed through her clenched teeth as she leaned in against Drasna with a hard shove, trying to force the veteran backward. Drasna had plenty of strength at her disposal, and for a moment, that strength was enough to push back everything Astrid brought against her, leaving the two of them at a stalemate. Astrid pushed and pushed, the muscles in her arms straining, but she couldn't get Drasna to budge. But if that was the case, Astrid was just going to change up her tactics - she slung her arm around Drasna's head, looking to pull it down against her side and lock in a headlock as her biceps strained against her temples!

Astrid and Drasna were locked into a test of strength almost immediately. Pushing against each other with no small amount of fervor and will, refusing to back down against each other even in this earliest contest between them. No matter how much Astrid tried she couldn't get Drasna to bend even a bit, and likewise Drasna wasn't quite able to make Astrid bend either, but it certainly seemed as though the younger of the two was having a harder time keeping up.

Perhaps that was why Astrid would make the sudden change to abandon the test of strength in favor of a headlock! "Ngh!" Drasna grunted out in effort, her arms slowly but surely wrapping tightly around the blonde's waist. "Hup!" Drasna yelled out as she moved to lift Astrid up into the air before falling backwards to slam her foe with a backdrop suplex!

Astrid and Drasna were both powerhouses, and both of them had a lot to prove. For both of them, this was about more than just winning the match - they had to prove they had it in them to do so, fighting back against the oncoming tide of irrelevancy. Neither of them were done being in the spotlight, and both of them were willing to fight as hard as they needed to to avoid slipping into obscurity! When both of them were just as driven and just as motivated, they were on even terms when it came to their test of strength, countering every inch one woman gained on the other with one of their own. But if that wasn't working, Astrid was just going to change her tactics. The same determination was fueling Astrid onward as she pulled Drasna's head down to the side, clenching her bicep tightly against the veteran's temples to constrict her skull in her grip!

With Astrid gaining the upper hand in their duel, the crowd burst out into applause, celebrating the Norsewoman for what seemed like an impending comeback! But, predictably, Drasna was just as quick to even things out with a well-executed counter of her own. Her arms went lower, grabbing Astrid by the waist; the Norwegian woman hissed as she felt the air being squeezed out of her lungs against the pressure. For just a moment, her body buckled - and that was just long enough for Drasna to scoop her feet up into the air and hurl her to the mat, where she landed with a thud!

Astrid coughed and gasped as the air was knocked out of her from the landing, the canvas rumbling beneath her impact as her legs kicked into the air. Even then, though, she wasn't going to go down without a fight. She looked back at Drasna with a scowl, going to throw a kick at her gut from where she lay on the mat. Hopefully, that would get her to double over - and, when Astrid shoved herself to her feet a moment later, she'd grab for Drasna's head, attempting to drop back down and throw her off her feet for a DDT!

Right now in the ring both Drasna and Astrid were showing off the extent of their ability and skill as champion level fighters. Astrid' break of the test of strength to capture Drasna in the headlock but only for a moment before Drasna reminded the blonde just how strong and experienced she was, grabbing and lifting the Norse woman back to drop her with a suplex!

Smiling as she landed this Drasna would turn over, prepared to immediately move on top of Astrid, but instead she would only receive a kick to the gut! "Ugh!" Drasna grunted out in pain, forced back from the blow with Astrid getting up right after to grab Drasna's head again but this time to drop down and spike Drasna with a ddt! "GAH!" Drasna cried out, rolling over onto her back and holding her head in pain while kicking the mat, seemingly stunned from the blow!
