The LAW arena was bustling tonight, as the stage had been set for a very special holiday match. The arena lights had been filtered into red and green, and wreaths and mistletoe now lined the sides of the ring and the stands. A special theme had been announced for this holiday match: red versus green, the colours of the holidays. And from what rumours had been floating about this match, it looked like the two combatants were both ones considered underdogs in the league-- not rookies by any stretch of the imagination, but oneswho both had mixed track records...and who both were utterly fearless about taking on opponents above their level.
It did not take long for the red combatant to arrive. Spoiler
With her theme song blaring rapidly behind her, Makie Akamatsu came striding into the arena, to the cheers of her fans. In addition to her usual red one-piece, Makie was also wearing a Santa Claus hat. Grinning, she flashed her fans a V-sign, before prancing down the ramp, hi-fiving her fans as she went. Slipping under the ropes, she hopped up to the top corner and raised her fans, enjoying the cheers of the audience.
Dropping back down to the mat, Makie patiently waited, wondering who in the roster would be filling the "green" role. Might it be someone who also usually wore a green outfit? If so, then from what she knew of the LAW roster, that could cover quite a few different wrestlers. Maybe a Wrestle Angels veteran like Chigusa Yuuki, or maybe someone like Melody Serperior or Akari Ito? Or maybe it would be someone with green hair, in which case, maybe they would be pitting her against Alizeh Midori? She tensed as he realized green outfits also meant they could throw her against a vicious heel like Emaline. There were a lot of possibilities, and a lot of them were pretty daunting.
Adjusting her Santa Claus hat a little, she leaned against her corner, and waited to see who the mysterious green girl would be...
Peggy McIntyre was backstage flying solo today, Lauren was resting after being at the wrong end of a really bad loss that nearly left her injured long-term although thankfully things weren't as bad as feared. Now Peggy was called up for a red vs green battle and given her green one piece swimsuit, gold kneepads, gold elbow pads and green boots she knew why she got the nod. Hell, add in her red hair and she had the whole thing down by herself.
Her music played and she came out pumping her fists in the air and yelling at the crowd as she stomped her way down the ramp. She saw Makie Akamatsu and knew she had to try to use her size to her advantage as best she could. Peggy wasn't about to be bullied by a lightweight or small middleweight. Peggy pointed out at the crowd a couple times as she received a moderate cheer before walking up the ring steps then climbing through the ropes to arrive inside the ring. "All right lass, I am gonna slam ya so hard that back o' yours is gonna be red too." Peggy said with a confident smile.
Makie watched as he opponent came striding down the ramp. She had vaguely heard of this "Peggy McIntyre" person, but only by virtue of her being related to a much more famous wrestler (Kyo would probably know more than she did about her, to be honest). Peggy was definitely taller than her (no surprise there) and a little on the curvy side. Otherwise, she didn't look like anyone that Makie couldn't take on.
She grinned back at Peggy as the Irish girl trash talked her. "Oh yeah? Because from where I'm standing you're already green with envy at me," she replied. "And by the time you get to see my skills in action, you'll be even greener!" At the ref's urging, Makie stepped back a little, as space was cleared for the two ladies to wrestle.
And then, when the bell rang, Makie came zooming out of her corner like a shot, letting out a loud yell as she tried to nail Peggy early on with a quick and decisive drop kick!
"Oh good one lass, too bad ya won't get a chance to back that up!" Peggy shouted as the bell rang. She moved in and ended up being quite wrong as she went for a grapple only to take a hard dropkick to the chest! Peggy grunted and landed down on the mat on her back rubbing her chest while kicking the mat. She was quaking and shaking as she hit, a look of embarassed surprise on her face as she was starting off the match entirely on the wrong foot...
Rolling back up to her feet, Makie saw that her drop kick had already knocked Peggy over, and grinned, glad to have already taken the lead in this match. She would wait for a second for Peggy to start getting back up; the moment Peggy did so, Makie would take off her Santa Claus hat and throw it in Peggy's face to momentarily blind her, before following up with a spin-kick into Peggy's head to hammer her even further!
The start of the match had gone from bad to embarrassing in a hurry! Peggy got up and was blinded by the hat swiping it away as the kick cracked her head sending her back down to the mat! She groaned in pain cradling her head in her arms meekly kicking the canvas as she was down on the mat in a haze after being sent crashing back to the mat.

The crowd collectively winced as Peggy took a hard kick to the face and went crumpling to the mat. So far, everything was going right for Makie: with some quick, decisive moves, she had her opponent on the mat with a ringing skull, barely able to fight back as she clutched her hurting face. Makie had the initiative now, and she had to make sure to keep it.
With Peggy now flailing on the mat, Makie would run forward, leaping at the last minute and extending a leg, hoping to bring it falling down across Peggy's generous bosom in a leg drop!
Peggy was wide open as Makie came crashing down across her chest causing her to moan in pain while her legs meekly flopped to the mat again! Peggy looked down and out already as she kicked the mat weakly after Marie's opening barrage left her laid out.
Makie's heart was racing as she managed to nail Peggy with with a leg drop. The match was barely a minute old, and already she seemed to be dominating the Irish girl. Given how dismal her track record in LAW had been so far, this gave her hope. This might be the moment she actually scored a win in LAW!
Seeing Peggy now reeling on the mat, Makie saw an opportunity and went for it, dropping down across her flailing foe and trying to hook one of her legs for a pinfall. In an instant, the ref girl was next to them, starting the countdown. "ONE..."
Peggy screamed and thrust a shoulder up kicking out of the pin. "Ya damned lucky brat..." Peggy muttered as she shook her head, trying to roll all the way over so she could start to push herself up to her feet again. She grit her teeth and once Makie was close enough Peggy was going to lash out with a couple hard body punches looking to hammer Makie hard enough to make her stagger. Peggy needed to create an opening to go on the offensive so she hoped this would do it.
