Ciara was backstage sitting on a crate, she arrived earlier in the day because she was bored, she hadn't done much in the past few hours except wander, explore, and keep to herself. The Chicago Cobra had always been a bit of a loner, hell she was a loner, she didn't care much for people, she would rather beat the senseless in the ring and then go home and garden, hell that was probably Ciara's exact plan tonight. So far most of her opponents were not overly impressive maybe this Tara Jaeger woman could prove to be the best out of the bunch so far. Ciara
Wrapping her hands and forearms one at a time Ciara clenched and unclenched her fist making sure they were tight but not too tight. With everything complete Ciara hopped off the crate and walked down the hall to Gorilla. Arriving in front of the curtain Ciara took her time, stretching her arms. Hearing her music start Ciara stepped out the lights were bright, and the crowd was loud, but Ciara was calm, nearly emotionless as she stopped and surveyed the audience before continuing down to the ring. Arriving at the ring and climbing the steel steps Ciara placed one foot on the second rope, and on on the top until it was like she was in a kneeling position stopping once more for a photographer to take a quick photo before stepping up and dropping into the ring and conveniently in her corner. Briefly throwing a few jabs while shadow boxing to warm up she would then lean back in the corner crossing her arms and waiting for her opponent to arrive
Tara sighed in slight annoyance as she finished getting her gear on and secure for her match. Truthfully she was going into this with a chip on her shoulder, more so than usually at least after her rather humiliating defeat at the hands of Katazyna Zawislak. After all, to be beaten in her own specialty match type and then used as a stepping stone towards her boss?
Absolutely unacceptable and she had to redeem herself. Thankfully she had the chance to do just that tonight against Ciara Ward. Apparently she was some big shot in the MMA world, not that Tara cared about that. All she saw the woman as was another target to utterly decimate. Not because she wanted too, but because she had too. Spoiler
As her entrance music started up Tara would bounce on her heels for a few moments, letting the song heat up before coming out herself to mostly boos thanks to her allegiance to Kyoko placing her firmly in heel territory. Not that it bothered Tara much as she sneered in disdain before making her way down the ring, taking plenty of time as she walked down, allowing the cameras to catch every possible angle of her in her new attire. Sooner than later though Tara would make it to the ring, hopping on the apron and holding the top rope before throwing her head back, showing off her impresive body in the process before moving to slip through the ropes and inside the ring. Making her way to the corner Tara would look over at her opponent and offer a curt nod of acknowledgement but nothing more, simply waiting patiently for the bell to ring and start the match.
Her opponent didn't mean anything to Ciara, she was a woman to beat, nothing more. Both women's former matches were irrelevant to Ciara, she was focused on the present and if her opponent wanted this to be her chance to bounce back Ciara was going to make her go through hell to even have a chance to do so! Hearing her opponent's music start up and the woman herself be met with plenty of boos made Ciara let out a small amused chuckle.
Her opponent certainly had an impressive body, to say the least, but Ciara herself had a nice set of abs, some might even say hers were the superior set in the ring. As her opponent joined her in the ring Ciara returned the nod, finally an opponent who didn't want to talk, heck that already made Ciara like Tara slightly more than most of her opponents so far.
With both women in the corners seemingly ready the bell rang! Ciara would stand up straight and raise her fists and step forward before switching to her preferred southpaw stance. Ciara studied her opponent watching the woman carefully looking for any openings and waiting for any sudden attacks or movements.
Tara remained silent as she merely locked her gaze onto her opponent. Ciara didn't seem like the type to like talking anyways, at least if the small little smirk at the silence was anything to go off of. Which worked just fine for Tara, if things went her way the only sounds coming from Ciara would be cries of pain and eventually submission. As soon as the bell rang she would start to strafe around the Chicago cobra for a few moments, planning out her method of attack before moving in suddenly, darting at the blond woman while extending her leg out as if for a simple kick aimed at her side, but she'd pull her leg back at the last moment before spinning and dropping down, catching herself with her hands on the mat while re extending her leg, trying to blast Ciara in the back of her knee and knock the woman down with a leg sweep!
Ciara circled with her opponent, studying her, expecting the woman to make the first move, and surely she did. Studying the woman, Ciara prepared to guard her side, only for her opponent to pull out and go lower! Ciara's right leg was kicked, taking her off her feet. Gritting her teeth, Ciara immediately got into a guard position, daring Tara to follow up on the mat! When Tara got close Ciara would send a hard kick towards the woman's gut aiming to drill her boot hard into the woman's stomach. If it connected Ciara would quickly start to get back up sending a hard uppercut into Tara's jaw before throwing a right hook at her face followed by a left hook to the ribs before stepping back still trying to feel things out before committing to a full on unrelenting attack! Sure Tara got lucky with a leg sweep but Ciara intended to show this woman who the superior fighter was.
First blow of the match would go to Tara with her leg sweep that successfully got Ciara down to the mat. Now she was looking to turn that into the first submission of the match as she immediately surged towards the downed woman. Unfortunately however Tara's over zealousness would cost her as a boot from the downed Cobra connected with her gut! "Ugh!" Tara grunted out as she was forced to take a few steps back which Ciara would take immediate advantage of, getting up while swinging an uppercut at her jaw!
"Ngh!" Tara groaned out in pain from the blow before a right hook followed right after! "Gah!" Tara grunted out again before growling in frustration. 'No way is this bitch going to outbox me!' Tara thought to herself before jumping back suddenly to gain some distance and put an end to Ciara's combo, with the woman seemingly deciding to not press things further which only meant she'd be harder to catch off guard, great.
None the less Tara would meet the blonde head on, rushing at the Chicago native as if to test her guard by throwing her fist forward, but in reality what Tara was going to go for was a clinch, her hands trying to grab hold of the back of Ciara's neck before she could react and if able, she'd swing her knee up to deliver a knee strike to the woman's gut, followed by another and another if she was able too!
After backing up Ciara felt like she could have continued her attack afterward and left Tara bruised and maybe even bloodied, but Ciara knew it was best not to press her luck, the match was young, and it was best not to risk any slip-ups. Tara was much more aggressive though, outright rushing Ciara, seeing the woman's fist the Cobra prepared to block it only to find herself in a clinch. Gritting her teeth Ciara was about to start throwing punches only for Tara to swing her knee up nailing her in the stomach. GUH! GAH!" Ciara let out pained grunts as the first two knees drilled into her abs. Forcing herself to focus she grabbed her opponent's leg as it swung up for a third time. Pulling on it Ciara attempted to lift Tara slightly before taking her down to the mat. It would be time to show who the real MMA fighter was!
If successful Ciara would maneuver herself while maintaining a grip on Tara's leg stretching it out before wrapping her own legs around it while shifting her grip down to her ankle locking in a painful kneebar! "Go ahead and tap!" Ciara would shout trying to put things away early or just risk breaking her opponent's leg if she didn't, she was fine with either to be perfectly honest.
Tara was determined to keep pace and even outright surpass Ciara in this match of hard hitting strikes. Now Tara knew the best way to do this was to lay in with her greatest weapons, those being her muscular, defined legs. Managing to capture Ciara in a cling Tara would lay into the woman with two massive knee strikes to the stomach that left her opponent groaning in pain.
Unfortunately however these blows came with a risk that would soon bite her in the ass as her leg was grabbed and she was hauled up before getting taken down to the mat, her leg soon being pulled and wrapped up by Ciara's own for a submission! "Ugh! You! Wish!" Tara yelled out in response, raising her free leg up into the air before bringing her heel down right onto the knee of Ciara! Hoping this would do some damage Tara would continue to bring her leg down onto Cirara's knee, hoping the concentrated blows on such a vital area would lead to her freedom!
Ciara gritted her teeth, she had no issue with injuring people who refused to tap, Tara could be one such individual with a broken leg or some other painful injury! "Last chance before I snap your GAH!" Ciara was cut off and let out a small cry of pain as Tara's free leg came up and began to kick knee! Growling Ciara would lean in and sit up slightly taking one hand off the woman's ankle before making a fist and drilling it into her opponent's knee in retaliation. Wincing as Tara's foot continue to target her own knee Ciara was determined to make her opponent tap even if he own leg was left throbbing in pain! Throwing punch after punch Ciara was more than willing to go blow for blow with her opponent, she could take it, it might hurt like hell, but she could!

Tara was determined to get out of this hold as soon as possible which meant the ropes were out of the question. But fighting her way out was only a marginally better route to freedom in all honesty. Despite blasting Ciara's knee repeatedly with stomps the blows weren't quite enough, not on their own. However it was clearly doing enough damage that Ciara was willing to respond by sitting up and punching Tara's own knee!
"NGH!" Tara grunted in pain before smirking slightly.. While her own knee getting punched wasn't great, there was at least one good thing about Ciara's actions. Those being that with the woman sitting up... she had the range to do something better than kick her knee. So pulling her leg back Tara would shoot it straight forward this time, aiming to drive the ball of her heel directly into Ciara's face with enough force that if it landed right it cold very well have broken the blonde's nose!
