Yukino Fuyumi vs. Skylar Jones

Tonight was definitely going to be an interesting night for Yukino. Her next opponent was a complete mystery - the promoters had been adamant about not letting her know who she'd be up against; not even the crew backstage knew for sure. Up until her opponent made their entrance, she would be completely in the dark. There was only one thing she could say for sure, though - this match was almost certainly going to be a big deal. Yukino didn't understand why there would need to be this much secrecy around it if it was just any other match - but clearly, this was someone who was worthy of keeping under wraps for the sake of hype. For all she knew, she might be up against Astrid Arvidsson herself. For all she knew, she was about to face a truly cruel and merciless foe who would tear her limb from limb. But none of the obvious options seemed particularly inviting. She took in a deep breath, reminding herself it was better not to think too hard about it - whoever it was, she would just need to commit to doing her best.

"Coming first to the ring, from Tokyo, Japan! At 5'2, weighing 160 pounds - the Winter Idol, YUKINO FUUUYUMI!!"

Naturally, as both a famous idol and a fan-favorite wrestler, Yukino's announcement garnered plenty of cheers. And she was right there to meet them, stepping out onto the entrance ramp with a steely look on her face. She knew this was no time for goofing around or playing to the fans - if this was a match she would need to take seriously, she would do it! She drew a sword from her belt and held it high over her head, drawing a few more gasps and cheers, but she sheathed it at her side and handed it off to the ring crew as she got to the ring. There, she rolled through the ropes and took a deep breath - for what was to come, she would need the utmost focus.

Suddenly, the lights went out, the arena becoming pitch black, before the jumbo tron was covered in static, followed by a clip of an episode from LAW's weekly show. The screen showed Skylar Jones wielding a metal bat, repeatedly bludgeoning an unconcious woman. "Fenrir went out nearly ten swings ago, but Jones isn't stopping!" The frienzied commentater shouted. More static, before the screen once again turned on to show a green-clad Syrian woman propped up against the ring post as Skylar repeatedly stomped her in the face. "-stomping in the skull of Ossi Shamar!" The commentator finished, before the static returned. It cut to a clip of Skylar grasping a woman in a bikini around the waist, before throwing her back with a German Suplex, putting her head-first through the canvas as the floor gave out. "Suplexed straight through the ring, and Emaline is out like a light!" More static, followed by a shot of a woman being hanged over the top rope by a belt, which formed a makeshift noose. Her face was covered in blood, and behind her was a cackling Skylar Jones. "-Yuki Kazikura being hanged like a war criminal!" The commentator cried, before the screen was once again taken by static, followed by the screens turning off, enveloping the stadium in darkness.

After a few seconds in dark silence, the speakers in the arena would begin to play the theme of Skylar Jones, a deafening chorus of boos overtaking the arena, as Skylar herself would come down the entrance ramp, donning a new, darker outfit.

"Aaand her opponent, from Perry, Iowa, weighing in at 162 pounds, the Brawling Puppet, SKYLARRRRRR JOOOOONES!"

She stood at the top of the ramp, looking around the arena with a grin. She'd been looking forward to this very moment for a long time. Her new white boots clicked on the floor as she approached the ring, stepping through the ropes. Holding the ropes and hanging off of them, she looked over at her opponent, Yukino Fuyumi. Truth be told, she hadn't really looked into her opponent at all before this, but she knew this girl hadn't been around when she left. "Well would ya look at that..." She said, before giving Yukino an evil grin. "They served me up a plate a' fresh meat!"

Yukino might have entered LAW since the injury that had taken Skylar Jones out of action some time ago, but the Winter Idol had certainly heard her name thrown around before. From what she'd heard, she knew that Skylar had a reputation as an unpredictable force of chaos, one who had been behind some of the most depraved acts of violence to ever take place in a LAW ring. But even if her name hadn't been passed around, one look at the montage playing over the screen of some of Skylar's finest moments were well enough to send the point home. Yukino might have assumed that some of the things she'd heard about Skylar had to have been exaggerated - that there was no way anyone could get away with some of the things she'd supposedly done and still have a future in the company. But from the clips she was seeing now, everything she'd heard was all too true - and what was more, if Skylar considered these to be her highlights, she was proud of it.

And now, Yukino would be going up against her, head to head!

"WHAT-!?" she gasped as soon as Skylar set foot in the ring. Her eyes went wide, and she jumped a few steps back out of reflex. Had they kept her opponent a secret because they wanted to keep a big return like Skylar's a surprise to build hype? Did they just not want her to panic? Maybe it was both - but either way, the revelation of her opponent had hit Yukino just as hard as all the fans who were chanting "HOLY SHIT! HOLY SHIT!" right now.

Nevertheless, Yukino sucked in a deep breath. She squeezed her eyes shut and clenched her teeth. No - she couldn't let herself get intimidated now. Yes, Skylar was a threat. But she knew that if she showed any fear, Skylar would latch onto it, and she would only be proving all her doubters right when they argued she was just another idol going into wrestling for the purposes of show business. No, Yukino had to show everyone that she did have the makings of a true wrestler in her - and if it was going to take standing up to Skylar Jones to do that, so be it!

Letting out a huff, Yukino took a step closer, cracking her knuckles. Her eyes narrowed in a glare on Skylar as she looked her dead in the eye. "This 'fresh meat' was in contention for the Openweight Championship," she shot back. "Don't underestimate me!" No matter how tough Yukino tried to talk, though, there was still a twitch at the corner of her eye. This could go very wrong, very fast...

Skylar stared Yukino down in kind, smirking. This girl looked like she was gonna be a fun first opponent back. A girl that could give her a decent fight, but would ultimately be stomped into the ground to show everyone she was the new top bitch around here. "Oh yeahhhhhh, you and like half this fucking roster, I'm really impressed." She snickered. "Is that really the best thing you have to brag about? No wonder they picked you for the human sacrifice..."

DING DING DING!

With the ringing of the bell, Skylar got into a stance. "Show me what you got, Elsa!" Sky taunted, stepping forward looking for a collar and elbow tie up.

"Human..?" When Yukino heard Skylar's taunts, her teeth clenched as the muscles tensed down her arm. So, this was what Skylar thought of her? In her mind, this match was just about her. Yukino was just a stepping stone - just a means to an end for Skylar to advance her career. There could have been anyone else in her place, and it wouldn't even matter to Skylar. It made her eye twitch just thinking about it. But she let out a huff. If that was what Skylar thought of her...well, so be it. She'd get the matter straight soon enough.

"...I will," Yukino muttered, nodding her head to Skylar as she stepped up to square up with the brunette. She would grab hold of her collar, pushing and pulling to try and feel out the pressure...but she knew enough about Skylar Jones to know that letting her have any leverage after her could only lead to disaster. Instead, at the first opportunity she had to do so, Yukino would lash out with a knee aimed at Skylar's gut, hoping to shift her balance into her favor. If she could unsteady her, she would grab at Skylar's arm, attempting to pull her off her feet with an arm drag!
