Camile Dion[D] vs Ivy Aster

Camile nervously ran her hands through her hair. This was normal, she told herself. It was her first match at LAW, it was only natural, she told herself. Not that it did anything to ease her nerves. In fact, it most likely did the opposite. Her thoughts were cut off by the sudden presence of a ringside attendant, informing her that she was to enter shortly. She took a deep breath, checking herself in the mirror one last time before turning to face the crowds

Ladies and gentlemen, hailing from Verdun, France, please give a warm welcome to Camile Dion!

Camile stepped out to a polite applause, with a few odd cheers mixed in. She smiled widely, as much for herself as for the crowd, waving as she walked to the ringside, clambering in. After a small bit of showmanship, Camile settled into the turnbuckle and waited for her opponent.

I wonder if this means Tiki has taken her hand out of my match bookings, thought Ivy Aster as she contemplated her next opponent. This will be the second match in a row where the Englishwoman is tasked with taking on a rookie, this one even less experienced than the last, with this being the LAW debut for Camile Dion, who was Ivy's opponent tonight.

When Ivy herself had first come into LAW, Tiki had made sure her protégé was faced with opponents who would challenge and push her. This apparent shift from being the rookie being given a challenge to becoming the challenge for another rookie signaled to Ivy that perhaps her mentor had decided that she had come into her own as a professional

Regardless, Ivy still had a match to win. There was no solid proof that her thoughts were correct, and even if they were, experience was by no means an ironclad decider of wrestling ability. Ivy herself had outwrestled more experienced foes in her own first matches after all. The Englishwoman's attention shifted to the staffer providing Ivy with her cue to enter, and so the Snow Rose made her entrance.

Ivy received much fanfare on her way to the ring, having been recognized as a strong, promising newcomer at this point in her LAW career. She didn't notice Tiki or her sister in the crowd, though she wasn't surprised. They couldn't be at all of her matches after all. Hortensia, especially, considering that she still technically lived in England. Once Ivy was in the ring herself, she'd remove her headpiece and greet her opponent, "Hello Camile. Welcome to the big leagues."

Camile listened with a mix of admiration and a small bit of fear to the raucous cheer her opponent had generated. Evidently, she wasn’t going up against a fellow newcomer. She’d expected that, but it was still unnerving. As her opponent approached her, though, her nerves calmed a bit. At the very least, Ivy was polite.

”Good evening, Ivy. I’m glad to be here. Let’s have a good match tonight, shall we?”Camile said with a smile, extending a hand.

After greeting Ivy, Camile would settle into the corner of the ring and await the telltale ringing of the bell.

Ivy would meet Camile out in the center of the ring, accepting her opponent's handshake. She wanted to have faith that most people wouldn't want their first act as a professional to be an act of underhanded cheating with a fake handshake to enable a pre-match cheap shot, and Ivy's faith was rewarded with a wholly amicable greeting before the two wrestlers returned to their corners to await the bell.

Sure enough, that beautiful sound rang out, and the two Europeans were off. Ivy would come out of her corner slowly, waiting until Camile was somewhat close, then charge forward with a burst of speed, trying to catch the brunette off-guard with the sudden shift. Ivy would jump into the air, leaning back as she swung out her leg at Camile's side. The Englishwoman would then land on her other leg and quickly try to follow up with a sweeping kick at the back of Camile's thigh to put the Frenchwoman on her back.

Camile grinned as her opponent took her hand. If there was one thing she could ask for tonight, outside of a victory, it would have been a courteous opponent. Hopefully, her wish being granted would be an omen of good fortune for things to come.

The bell rang, and Camile began to stalk slowly towards Ivy, her heart thumping in her chest. She was nervous, and entirely on edge. Which turned out to be in her benefit. When her opponent leapt into the air, Camile had fully been expecting an attack, and quickly, running on instinct and adrenaline, pivoted on one foot, sidestepping the kick, and hopefully sending Ivy on a collision course with the mat. Camile would, if Ivy landed in a prone position, leap up herself, and try to come down on Ivy’s midsection with an elbow drop.

Ivy's first attack missed, but fortunately she had the skill and aerial maneuverability to still be able to land just as safely as she would have had her kick connected. As a result, the Englishwoman was still able to go for the sweep to follow up her kick which she had originally been intending, though she have to reach forward a bit more to get her leg far enough.

If Ivy's sweep worked, and Camile was put on her back, the purplette would quickly return to the skies to follow up. Somersaulting forward in the air, Ivy would set a trap for the Frenchwoman. She knew that Camile was not stunned enough for a straight drop to work. So instead of trying to land on the brunette, Ivy would instead spread her legs out wide, one of each landing of either side of Camile.

Ivy wanted Camile to, expecting a straight drop, try to roll to a side to dodge or catch Ivy's landing with a counter. But if she did, the Englishwoman would be swift to take advantage with a real drop; an Elbow Drop aimed straight at Camile's head.

Camile audibly gulped as Ivy landed on her feet. That was in no way something she’d properly planned for. Her thoughts were cut short however as Ivy’s leg hooked her’s and she was thrown to her back.

W-Waah!Camile, seeing her opponent gain altitude, rolled right to avoid the incoming drop, falling right into Ivy’s trap. She cried out, rolling on the floor and clutching her face after Ivy’s strike connected. She’d, through the pain, try to get back to her feet, where she’d fire off two feinted jabs, then try for a leg sweep of her own, which Ivy would hopefully be too distracted to avoid. Hopefully. Even Camile herself knew it was somewhat of a longshot. If she pulled it off she’d retreat to the corner of the ring to try and collect herself, and prepare for the next engagement.

Ivy's trap worked to perfection. Camile tried to roll away, but was stopped when she ran into the Englishwoman's foot. Then, with her aim true, Ivy came down elbow first onto the side of the Frenchwoman's head. As Ivy fell off to the side, Camile quickly staggered up to try to get back to her feet before the purplette was able to follow up on her Elbow Drop.

Ivy responded simply by getting back up herself and preparing to re-engage. Her head flinched back slightly with each feint, feet shifting with each movement of her body, keeping aware while still respecting what was being put in front of her. Then as Camile dropped down to go for a sweep, ivy hurdled her leg, then retaliated with a kick at the brunette's face.

If Ivy's kick connected, presumably putting Camile on her back if it did, then she would attempt her first submission hold of the match. Ivy would reach down, grabbing for her opponent's ankles, then attempt to put Camille into a Figure Four Leglock.

Nothing so far in this match had gone to plan, Camile thought, as she threw out a pair of feints, followed by a sweep, which Ivy deftly leapt over. Dismayed, Camile knew exactly what was about to happen.

Camile yelped as Ivy’s boot collided with her cheek, sending her sprawling onto the canvas. She turned onto her back as her opponent approached. She was undeniably on the back foot, but still had more fight in her. As Ivy approached, she’d violently kick outwards in a burst of adrenaline, aiming to catch Ivy in the stomach, hopefully stunning her a bit. If she connected, she’d spring up to her feet, and attempt a roundhouse kick aimed at Ivy’s own head.

Perhaps another false attack would have served Ivy better, as when she tried to go for a Figure Four Leglock, she was met with Camile's boot crashing into her stomach. "Guh!" she moaned as doubled over, she staggered back. Ivy had thought the back to back blows to Camile's head would give her enough time to execute her attack. but evidentially, that was not the case.

After that, it was now Ivy on the backfoot. As Camile sprung up for a very real roundhouse kick, the Englishwoman pulled her head backwards as swiftly as she could to escape the blow. But going from bent forwards to leaning back so quickly while staggering was enough to throw Ivy off balance to the point where she fell onto her butt. She avoided the big hit from Camile, but had still been left in a vulnerable position.
