Reina Izara Vs. Edith Una-A Priceless Contest

Unread post by king6y »

With the ringing of the bell drawing the crowd to a hush, the booming voice of the announcer filled the gap saying,

"Ladies and gentlemen, this match is scheduled for one fall!"

"One fall!" Echoed the crowd, drawing a smirk to the woman's face as she went to continue.

"Tonight's contest is a 2 out of 3 falls match! The first competitor to gain 2 pinfalls or submissions shall be the winner! Introducing first, weighing in at a 168 pounds, and hailing from Los Angeles, California-"
Entrance Theme
"REINA, THE CONQUEROR...IZAAAAAAARAAAA" at the sound of trumpets, every light in the arena had gone dark, as all fans knew well where to look by this point. Turning their gazes to the ramp, they saw a golden light shine down on the stage as an ebony throne rose to the top, carrying said conqueror as she sat eyes closed.

Soaking in the boos of the crowd, an unusual sight was seen for the first time in her two months of being in LAW. Reina was smiling before a match. Not once besides her debut has anyone seen that stone cold expression leave Reina's statuesque face before she entered the ring. But on this occasion, it appears the conqueror was in a good mood. Rising out of her seat, the ebony beauty marched across a pathway of golden light as she made ger way to the ring. Ready for the match to come as she stood in the middle of the ring, awaiting her opponent with a gleam in her eyes.

Because tonight was a match against someone she actually respected. The Hidden Gem, Edith Una.

"And her opponent!"
"Man is Born, Man lives, Man Dies......and it's all vanity"
Spoiler

As a familiar funky tune echoed through the venue, the crowd's anticipation shifted, and the stage lights illuminated the platform. With the song hitting its second pause, the spotlight revealed Edith, positioned with her back to the audience, only to spin around and strike a pose as the music resumed.

"From the renowned Matire Hotel, the hidden gem herself, presenting EDITH UUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUNNNNNNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!"

The one and only, Edith Una, was here! The crowd of course cheered seeing the girl walk down to the ring. Despite having the moniker of the "hidden gem," Edith's reputation had grown, making her a delightful discovery for those fortunate enough to witness her matches. More and more people were knowing about the girl's technical prowess and adaptability in the ring, Edith approached the match with her characteristic calm demeanor, her caramel skin gleaming under the vibrant lights, dressed in a stylish purple flannel suit that added a touch of fancy class to her entrance.

Though she may not be on the level of other a top-tier star's, Edith's still slowly but surely was getting a bigger fanbase. Reaching the ring, she adhered to a straightforward strategy: maintain her composure, even in the face of potential setbacks, even if she went down a fall, and focus on wearing down her opponent. The match's structure, akin to a boxing bout with rounds, would needed to be thought of for both the short and possible long game. The trickiest part was with Reina not being someone Edith was very familiar with, it made it difficult for her to come up with answers to her offence when she didn't even know what offence was coming. Regardless, Edith showed no fear or nerves, slipping into the ring, whipping her feet on the apron and getting into the ring, posing in the middle and bowing to the crowd elegantly, before slowly raising her head, meeting Reina's gaze as she preped herself for the match ahead.

'A hidden gem...yes, I would say that's quite fitting.' Reina mused, thinking back to her earlier analysis, the conqueror couldn't help but feel a surge of excitement surge through her body. To Reina, Edith, was very hidden treasure amongst a desert of wild...eccentric talent who rarely showed even the slightest hint of tact, or refinement in their bouts. Not that she didn't see the value in their styles, but to her, to the conqueror, she needed that back And forth in her matches. She needed that battle of wits! To think, and strategize move after move with her opponent until the vetter of the two stood with their hand raised. And if her tape was anything to go by, then Reina was elated to finally have a chess match again.

Unlike Edith who was practically blind to her skills, Reina knew the hidden gem well. She was an analytical all rounder, adaptable, and rarely ruffled in the ring. Seemingly always keeping a cool head as she threaded a needle to victory. As whether she was rooted on the ground, or flying high in the sky, Edith seemed ready for anything. And in a sense, Reina was much the same.

'A technician vs technician, how sweet' Reina thought, 2 out of 3 falls, a good safety net, and easy crutch. She'll have to careful when she takes or gives a pin. Any could swing momentum in her favor and leave her chasing after it once it leaves her. No, the best way to keep it is to keep on the pressure, and shut down Edith as best she can. Essentially, don't let her breathe.

"You've gained my interest, Una." Reina smirked, "so, for your sake, don't you dare disappoint me."

Edith's gaze remained fixed on Reina, her focus unwavering as she flexed and loosen her wrists. The conqueror's words hung in the air, and Edith responded with a calm confidence. "I wouldn't dream of it, miss Izara," she quipped, still maintaining a defensive stance, as Edith retreated into the corner, avoid exposing her back to Reina.

When the bell echoed through the venue, Edith, true to her strategic nature, resisted the urge to charge in recklessly. Instead, she adopted a measured approach, gracefully circling the ring with precision. Each step she took seemed deliberate, a dance of strategy and anticipation. The rhyme of the match starting out slow and calm, much like a smooth jazz beat, as Edith would be careful not to expose herself to her opponent

"Hmph. Good, it would be a shame to conquer you so easily." Reina retorted, backing into her own her corner whilst her eyes remained glued on the woman before her.

'Guarded stance,' Reina thought, 'and a cautious approach. Very well, I'll go by your tempo.' Her mind finished as the bell rang in its absence as the conqueror soon followed suit with the hidden gem. Striding and marching in time around the ring, looking like two dance partners awaiting the other to take the lead. Step by step, and sway by sway, Reina would allow her "conquest" to set the tempo. After all, it's been quite a while since she's fought like this, so she may as well take her time with it. Raising her guard as she edged closer, the ebony beauty watched her opponent like a coiled snake ready to strike. Waiting for the one wrong move, or misstep before delivering her bite.

But for a foe like Edith, Reina might have to make the opening step. So, in a turn, the conqueror would begin her advance upon the hidden gem, and would throw a few punches with pin prick precision, hoping to tag, or distract her opponent before going into her specialty. Grappling.

If Reina was successful, she would attempt to feint another blow but would instead aim to grapple Edith into a wrenching headlock.

The conquer would match Edith tempo, the pair having a stand-off to start the match. Reina would close the distance, throwing some punches as Edith would quickly dodge them like a pro boxer, but she was unable to escape the headlock from being locked on. Finding herself in a bit of a bind, she remained calm, knowing she needed to be careful not to overwork herself.

She would go for a more unorthodox move, letting go and swinging subtly, before then attempting to twist her body in a circle, much like unscrewing a screw, she'd attempt to try and spin to break the girl's grip, following it up by applying her own headlock!

If successful, EDith would simply use this chance to try and wear down Reina, trying to wrench and lower her base so it would be harder for Reina to escape from the hold she found herself trapped in, the match in the feeling out proccess as the pair refused to give each other an inch!

Punch, and miss, punch and miss. Step by step, and dodge after dodge, the two skillful opponents looked more like dance partners than enemies. One step forwards, and one step back was the nature of their dance. Moving to a tempo made by the other's advance. But, like all music, there must always come a rest. So when Reima notched back her arm for one more meeting with air, the conqueror decided to switch things up.

Right as she saw Edith's pink hair Bob out if sight, Reina's arms snapped and coiled themselves right around the gem's head. Squeezing and flexing as Reina grounded her close to her impressive chest. After all, this match was about endurance, and for an opponent like Edith, she needed to wring dry any speck of resistance from the professional in her arms.

Though, as she tightened her grip and twisted her hips, the ebony woman didn't feel any struggle, not even a shift or frantic hand. But just when the conqueror was at the height of her confusion, she felt Edith's answer! Whipping around like a leaf in the wind, Reina felt the silly hair of Edith slip from her grasp, as soon enough, she felt a pair of arms snake around her head just as she had done.

"Tsk...clever." Reina growled, feeling Edith's embrace drape over her, weighing her down bit by bit. This was bad, not disastrous yet, but any energy lost was not the move. She had to escape soon, she couldn't risk letting this go on any longer. So, in an almost loving embrace, Reina's arm wrapped itself along Edith's waist as Reina would attempt to hoist her up and give her a plunging backdrop as a counter.

If it was successful, Reina would attempt to show off a bit against her opponent. Both to one, show off her skill, and two, to force Edith to use more energy. So, if the slam took off, Reina would use her momentum to flip herself back and give the hidden gem the first pin attempt in the match.

"But not clever enough." Reina teased.

Edith wasn't quite able to get the headlock on long enough, slamming onto her back by a back suplex! Following it up, Reina preformed quite a suggestive roll into a pinfall, making Edith a bit flustered by the move. However, Edith wouldn't be easy to stop so easy, as she would quickly counter, bridging up and kicking out of the hold. In an attempt to counter the hold, Edith would try and press her feet into Reina's belly, looking to flip her off with a Monkey flip!

If this worked, she'd then spin around, locking in a arm lock, before suddenly, she would point down at Reina's chest, and if Reina were to look to see what she was pointing at, the girl would fall victim to Edith's classic trick, as the girl would flick the conquers nose! The crowd would burst into comical cheers, as Edith would let go and roll backwards, looking to make distances to simply let the crowd have their fun cheering at the silly moment

Reina was no fool.

She knew Edith wasn't down for the count, hecl she knew she wasn't getting a 2 count. She was arrogant, yes, but a fool she was not. So, although she hated the feeling of getting turned into one half of black and purple tumbleweed, she still appreciated the gem's cleverness. She still appreciated her creativity. Even as sbe felt the searing burn of an arm lock, she would grit her teeth abd plan her way of escape. All she had to do was...think about the match, and not why Edith was pointing a finger to her breasts.

Blinking in confusion and mouthing a strained 'what?', the last the last thing Reina saw coming was a flock to the nose. A childish, playful little prank got the better of her.

A flick to the nose, tricked her at 25 years of age. And just like clockwork, the crowd started laughing. Cheering and laughing at her expense as Edith herself let go of her hold and rolled back like nothing even happened. This would not do, she would be made a fool of, not even by Edith. Now, with a burning anger bubbling in her chest, Reina stared daggers at the hidden gem, and would attempt to silence the cheers then and there with a spear so vicious it'd make a bald headed legend very proud.

The ole flick to the nose trick was a classic move in Edith's offence. Not exactly used for battle but more so to get into the opponents head, and considering how anger it would make someone to fall for such a simple trick, it makes sense as to why it is always so effective. Edith could see the angered girl charging from a mile a way, asReina, fueled by frustration, charged forward with a spear, and she would leapfrog for the attack attack, her movements resembling a well-choreographed dance. Landing lithely behind her adversary, Edith wasted no time in capitalizing on the advantage she had created.

Seeing Reina was now trapped in the corner, Edith would attempt to use this chance to her advantage, attempting to dash towards that corner, attempting to springboard off the corner turnbuckle, executing a mid-air twist, Edith looked to hit the girl with a spectacular springboard tornado DDT.
