Ice and Quiet: Wisteria vs. Isljoninna

Carolina went through a few breathing excerises backstage as she waited for her theme music to cue in her entrance. Her time so far in LAW had not gone as wellvas she'd hoped it would. She hadn't been in many matches to start with, but the exception of one, where her opponent, a male, seemed to rather enjoy losing, they were all losses.

It wasn't exactly encoraging start to her young career, she'd thought things woukd have gone better for her si far. She assumed the physique that brought her mockery from her figure skating peers would have been her ticket to success here, but so far she'd had little such luck.

Today, she'd be facing and attempting to not lose to, one Sheena Akan, relative and trainee of the realtively new --and likely to be long tenured--, middleweight champion, Kyoko Akan. When she'd first joined up with LAW, it was with a sort of enthusism that one has when it seemed anything was possibke. She dreamed, even, of one day being some form of champion. Her first few losses disabused her of that though, now she mostly dreamed of not falling into jobber-dom.

And So her theme began playing

Carolina stepped out from backstage, strutting to the top of the ramp, arms on her hips and her nose turned up...

before throwing her hair back

then heading on to the ring. Once she reached it, she turned to walk up the steel steps, before throwing her
Ushanka inti the crowd. Next, she stepped into the ring and made her way to the opposite ring corner, before laying back, arms propped up on the ring ropes waiting.

Sheena took a deep breath as she waited patiently by the entrance ramp for cue to head out for her entrance. Since falling short in Apex Sheena was looking to re establish herself a bit in LAW by having some strong singles contests that thus far had been a mix of success, but tonight was her latest chance at that and it was against someone in a similar position. Isljoninna, or luckily Carolina as she found she also went by had suffered a string of stinging defeats much like herself, unfortunately though while Sheena sympathized, she would have to add onto it herself.

As her entrance music started up causing the crowd to start cheering in response Sheena would come out, striking a pose with her hands above her head. Simultaneously showing off her curvy, well muscled body and the outfit that had quickly become a favorite among the fans as she then made her way down the ramp, confident in her gate, and a steely, hard expression on her face. Winning is what mattered here, nothing else.

Entering the ring calmly and non flashily Sheena would turn towards her opponent. The blonde boasted an impressive physique and oozed confidence, really it made Sheena surprised that she had lost any matches at all, she certainly didn't carry herself like she had. If anything she almost reminded her of her cousin. Approaching the center of the ring Sheena would extend her hand out to the woman, offering a gesture of sportsmanship to the woman before things could kick off.

Isljoninna kept her eyes on her opponent as she made it up to and down the top of the ramp on her way to the ring. She didn't see anything surprising from her opponent, not that she wasn't impressive. When she entered the ring itsself, the bloonde stood away from the corner ropes and fully upright as her opponent aporached her and put out her hand.

Carolina wasn't one to reject a good-will gesture, even from someone she'd soon be trying to slam throught the canvas, so when Sheena reached out for a handshake, the Ice lioness would shake it.

"Let's have a good match, just don't expect me to play nice." She'd say with a quick and firm handshake.

Once the bell rung, she'd put a hand up to challenge Sheena to a test of strength.

Entering the ring fully and approaching the center while extending her hand for a gesture of sportsmanship Sheena would take the chance to look over her opponent. 'Hmm' She thought to herself, humming in thought as she watched the tall blonde approach and reach out to accept her hand shake. 'Beating this one won't be easy. She practically radiates strength.' Sheena thought to herself before nodding at the words of her opponent.

"Good. A good match wouldn't be anything less than us each giving our all and definitely not playing nice." Sheena said in agreement with Isljoninna before taking a few steps back and watching as the woman raised her hands for a test of strength while the bell rang, starting the match. Narrowing her eyes softly at this she would nod and approach her opponent, hands reaching up to accept the woman's grip and begin to push against her, locking up in the test of strength and giving everything she had against the blonde!

Carolina was glad to see her test of strength accepted, as it mean't that the start of the match would be fought on her terms. She pushed back hard against her opponent, but she knew better than to ldt her opponent make the first move out from this lock up.

So after deliberately allowing to Sheena to push her back some, the Ice lioness swung her head forward, aiming to slam her forehead into her opponent's face, specifically aiming for the bridge of her nose.

If that suceeded, Isljoninna would keep things simple and throw a powerful right handed uppercut punch underneath her opponent's chin.

Sheena knew she was taking a risk as she pushed up against her opponent in a test of strength. Power was clearly the name of the game for the ice lioness and Sheena while no weakling was definitely not in a position to overpower someone who specialized in it.

But she hoped to possibly use it as a position she could take advantage of. Unfortunately before she could try she found herself taking a headbut to the face from her opponent!

"Agh!" Sheena groaned out in pain before being caught by a follow up uppercut to the chin! "Ugh!" She groaned out in pain as she stumbled away before catching herself, looking up at her foe with a glare before charging forward, swinging her leg up as she neared to try and land a kick aimed right at her foe's side!

Carolina's crafty trick worked exactly as intended. Sheena couldn't protect herself against the headbutt, nor was she in any position to guard against the northern lioness' uppercut punch. Both moves elicited promising cries of pain, though they were only beginning of what Isljoninna wanted and needed out of this woman, if she was going to win.

So, with the first punch having landed well enough, abs with Sheena stumbling backward, Carolina tried to follow upon her and close the gap, rearing her right fist backward. Her aim was to thow a haymaker at her opponents face to keep up the pressure. Strikes weren't her speciality, but hitting hard wasn't all that complex.

With sheena charging forward, it seemed like the perfect opportunity for a devestating blow, but before Carolina's fist got all that close to connecting, her opponent got off a quick and stiff kick of to her side. "Gah" She cried out as the arc of punch she was throwing evaporated. Out of a desire for quick retribution, Carolina would attempt to get off her own kick, though this would be lower, aimed at the side of her foe's left knee, If this woman was going to hurt her with legs, it made sense to hurt them and the best way to do that, she figured was to pick a knee and target it.

Thus far the match was starting off much more strike oriented than Sheena would have initially anticipated. After being caught with a head but she was quick to retaliate by throwing a kick into the blonde woman's side. Something that was unintentionally well timed since Sheena noticed the way her foe's arm fell, indicating that a punch likely would have been coming in towards her otherwise.

Carolina however seemed to not be so easily deterred, and while she was dissuaded from the punch she instead went for a kick right to Sheena's knee!

"Ngh!" Grunting out in pain from the blow and nearly dropping to a knee from the blow Sheena would open her eyes and zero in on a possible target. Not just to damage her opponent, but hopefully to stop any more immediate attacks to her leg.

Lunging forward suddenly and without warning she would try and grab at her opponent's calf, lifting it up and pulling back sharply on the limb with the intent of bringing her opponent off her feet with a sudden ankle pick that would leave Sheena in possession of her opponent's ankle in the process!

Whether or not Sheena expected it, Carolina was perfectly comfirtable thtowing out punches and kicks, even if they weren't her best attribute. Her punches weren't the quickest, but it didn't have to be when shr was following up with a upper cut having disoriented her opponent with a headbutt. As for the kick, it wasn't as though years of figure skating hadn't imparted her a deal of prececision and speed in her leg movements.

Howver she still wanted to get her hands on Wisteria to grapple with and over power her soon rather than later, so the moment the kick nearly brough her down, Isljoninna tried to use the opportunity to close in on her opponent. Unfortunately for her, what came next was un expected, Sheena dived for her calf and pulled the northern lioness to the ground, causing her to drop square on her ass.

"Uhf" she groand, mostly out of surprise than anything else, though she was fully aware that her opponent had her in a compromising position. Quickly, Carolina up out her arms and planted them on the canvas. Sheena would likely try to use control of her ankle to turn her over and wrench away at it, best to make that difficult if not impossible.

As Isljoninna did this, she tried to pull her grappled leg back toward her body. In a test of strength between her leg and sheena's arms, she thought her chances were good. If nothing else, it'd likely bring her close enough that Carolina would be able use of her free leg, to attempt vicious kicks targeted at the closest of Sheena's arms, specifically her elbow, particularly from underneath. She promised her opponent she wouldn't play nice.

Carolina was definitely not someone to be trifled with. Those initial blows she suffered from the blonde was all Sheena needed to be sure of that, and that she would try her best to avoid more full powered blows like that. Hence targeting the woman's legs, attempting to bring her down and into a position that Sheena could damage them and limit what the lioness could do.

Unfortunately the blonde still had plenty of power behind those thighs and pulled in, making it difficult for Sheena to lock in any kind of submission holds. Worse yet it made it possible for the woman to start kicking at Sheena's arms making her wince and groan in pain from the blows. 'Damn.' She thought knowing she would have to drop the limb... But she wouldn't let it be for nothing.

"Hah!" Yelling in effort she would pull up, fighting the pull of Isljoninna's leg to try and pull it as high as she could... Before throwing her leg forward to slam a stomp into the side of the woman's knee as best she could to cause some damage! After all Carolina had promised to not play nice, and Sheena was intent on returning tit for tat.
