Blair Yuen vs. Reny Selene

Blair Yuen did not like this one bit.

She had come to LAW hoping to bounce back from what seemed to be an inescapable string of career-shattering losses - first in competitive Muay Thai, then in MMA, and even then, after making the jump to pro wrestling, she had worked her way through a few promotions, always jumping ship whenever her luck went south. At every turn, she thought that the next change of scenery might finally be her big break; maybe this would finally be the start of a new golden age for her career, and maybe she could at last escape from the sting of her past defeats. Signing with LAW, for Blair, was no exception. But to her frustration, it seemed like her bad luck would continue to follow her.

Not only had Blair lost more matches than she'd won so far, some of those losses were downright insulting. She had let her anger get the better of her and lost her focus, the very asset that had fueled her success in the first place. Not long ago, she had even been knocked out by a Young Lioness. She had been a champion, at one point, and this was what she was remembered as? Someone who couldn't even beat a trainee?

Tonight was the last straw. Tonight, LAW had booked Blair against another Young Lioness. Apparently, her position in the company had fallen so far she was being relegated to warming up the developmental talent. If she didn't win this match, Blair didn't know what she'd do. She was angry with LAW for putting her up to this - but even more so, she was mad at herself. It was her fault she was in this situation to begin with. She should have done better.

"The following match is scheduled for one fall! "Coming first to the ring, from Vancouver, British Columbia! At 5'1, weighing 110 pounds, BLAIR YUEN!!"

Blair's music had begun to fill the air, but there were no theatrics or celebration to be had for the Muay Thai practitioner. Her attention was focused only on the ring in a blank stare as she stormed her way down the ramp, her fists balled at her sides. It was still early in the card, and there were still people who hadn't shown up to their seats; some were absentmindedly flipping through their phones, not concerned with the match whatsoever and just waiting for the real stars to show up. It showed how much these people, and LAW itself, cared about Blair. And Blair hated every second of it. As she climbed into the ring, she sucked in a breath, and her fist clenched tighter. Come the start of the match, she thought, she would show them all how much she deserved better...

Okay it is offical, the match maker hate her! Her opponent is fucking Blair Yuen, a former champion! This is bad news, abondon ship abondoned ship! Someone must have a grudge against her when someone match her up with someone like Blair. Sure if we look at the LAW record she is not that impressive, but most of her match is basically her at a disadvantage, she only have like 2 match in her weight class...tho thinking back...that Lunar person fighting style at the latter half seem familiar toward her. Well at the very least, her opponent is not at the her best condition considering she lost toward a fellow young lioness, tho she is not that full of herself to say she is even near the top, she probably don't make it to the top 5.

Oh well...she have done her research and she have already plan the rhythm and strategy as she prepare to pull out all the trick in the book to actually even attempt at victory. Let just hope her opponent doesn't hold any grudge...she seem scary

After a few moments later, when Blair climb into the ring. Her theme would have begin to play as she would have prepare a speacial surprise hidden in her outfit

"her opponent, is one of our rising star! Coming from Tokyo, at 5'1 and weighing 100 pound, RENY SELENE"

When Reny enter the stage, she would have look around at the crowd...bunch of half ass that not even paying attention toward their match as they more focus on other thing and just waiting for the main star of today to begin...she can't have that...if she enter a stage, she se-...no she demand all attention toward her show! She would have pull out two sound gun from her hips as she would have fire 3 shot in rhythm with her music theme, as the sudden loud noice would have snap all of the audience attention toward her.

When she have all of their attention at her, she would have begin to rush down the ring itself as she would have jump up toward one of the turn buckle "LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! LET'S BEGIN THE SHOW!!!" Reny would have shouted as she would have fired on more sound shot into the sky as it would have trigger a chain reaction, little by little as they crowd begin to cheer...the cheer she received is nothing big or large, considering this is still early on and the crowd is not as large as it could be...but for now it is enough...all of their attention is on her now! Now all she can do is give off the most entertaining performance

For many of the fans, a Young Lioness match this early in the show was an excuse to not pay attention. A few of those in attendance had stepped out for refreshments, and others were disinterestedly scrolling through their phones. Everyone was sure this was just going to be some rudimentary match between a trainee who hadn't even developed a full command of their moveset yet, and someone who was evidently on the same level as them - barely worth watching. But all those people were in for a rude awakening as soon as it came time for Reny to take to the ring.

The moment Blair heard her opponent's name being called, she looked up with a pause, her eyebrow raised curiously. Selene...where had she heard that name before? She couldn't quite place it, but it seemed oddly familiar. And that was when it hit her - when Lunar Crescent had taken her into her house, Blair had found a binder full of letters that were addressed to a Rie Selene. She supposed it could've been a common enough last name, but...in Japan? That narrowed things down a little more...

Either way, Blair wouldn't have much time to think it through - considering what happened a moment later! Reny grabbed a pair of guns off her hip, and as the sounds of gunshots rang through the air, Blair jumped back in shock. All the fans, too, stopped whatever they were doing to look toward her. More than a few of them had covered their ears at the sudden loud noise, but there was no question that now, Reny had grabbed the attention of everyone in the building. All eyes were glued to her, watching intently to see what she might do next. And when she called out with a voice that rivaled the ring announcer's, now everyone rallied behind her with a cheer! If Reny was going to bring this much energy to the match, it was sure to be an exciting one after all!

For her part, though, Blair merely sucked in a breath, stepping toward Reny and cracking her knuckles as she rolled her head from side to side, limbering up for the match. She was quickly proving herself to be everything Reny wasn't - while the Young Lioness was loud, brash, and eager to be at the center of attention, Blair was calmer and more reserved, preferring to let her actions speak for her. All she could hope was that Reny wasn't going to prove too bothersome - but for now, she had a match to attend to.

"All right, all right," Blair muttered as she at last raised her fists and sank into a stance. "Let's find out what you're made of!"

Reny would have pouted when the only responce that Blair have toward everything is just warming herself up for the match, ungrateful much? She get being serious and all but if nobody pay attention then what is the point "not even a thanks for dragging the crowd attention to us again? Oh well" she said with a sigh as she would have pocketed her gun in her hoodie and began to take it off revealing a similar top with Blair with white and orange colour scheme as she would have put her hoodie safely near the buttom of her corner so it wouldn't disturbed their match

"I hope you don't mind me pulling all the trick in the book, so do me a favour and not get mad at me when all of this is over..." reny said softly as she would have step forward and slam her two fist together as she would have bring her both of her hand in front as she would have enter a traditional boxing as she would have wait for the match to officially begin and for her opponent to make her first move, while she have prepared a lot for this match, all she did is create theory and strategy...she haven't out the water to see if her theory and strategy will work or not

With Reny preparing herself for the match, Blair grumbled to herself. She sank a little lower, bending at the knees to enter a stance, and she pressed her fist into the palm of her hand, cracking her knuckles to limber herself up. She had already seen that her opponent had a flair for the dramatic, which she had...mixed feelings about. Admittedly, she did need someone to make some noise in order to get some attention on this match, when not even the arrival of a former MMA champion was doing much to get people talking. But Blair was quick to remind herself that getting attention on yourself didn't matter as much as being able to deliver results in the ring. She was a fighter, not a showman, and that was a philosophy she lived by. If Reny was only good for making noise, she wouldn't be worth her time - and Blair was about to tell her that in no uncertain terms.

"Look, you want my respect, you'd better earn it," the Canadian chided. "You show me you can back yourself up, maybe then I'll think differently..." She sucked in a breath, grumbling to herself as she reached up to rub her forehead. The match hadn't even started, and Reny was starting to get on her nerves with all her taunting and showboating. Hopefully, that wouldn't come back to bite her...

*DING DING DING*

Raising her fists, Blair would prepare herself for the first move. She strafed in a circle around her opponent, watching her carefully. From her stance, it looked like Reny would be a fellow striker, which at least put them on relatively even footing - but when the Young Lioness hadn't even thrown a punch thus far, it would be hard to judge her skills. It soon grew apparent it would be up to Blair to strike first, and she took a step closer, reaching out with her hands to grab Reny's shoulders and enter a clinch. If she could do that, she'd be able to strike from close range - and her next blow would be an elbow strike aimed at Reny's ribs, with no small amount of force!

"Then you don't need to worry abou that" Reny said while smiling "i may not look like it but i am not losing in striking contest" she said as she would have gotten serious as the bell ring to start off the match as she would have circle around Blair as well as it seem that both of them have the same idea to watch each other to see who will move first

And the one that move first would be her opponent as Reny would have instant put her guard up expecting her to throw a jab or a kick, not expecting Blair to tried to clinch this early on as she would have grit her teeth and take a direct blow toward her ribs causing her to hiss in pain...but this she could take, them being in clinch would make it easier for her to take on Blair blow...and beside, it is nice for The Little Dragon to descent to the area where she most proficient in

Reny would have lower her knee a bit in their clinch as she would have suddenly raise up to send a hook directly toward Blair liver as the force of her punch is surprisingly strong and punishing considering that their are in a clinch, as Reny attempt to punish The Little Dragon on trying to clinch as if thing went according to plan, she would created some distance between them, allowing Reny to send a right hook toward Blair face

To Reny's taunts, all Blair could do was roll her eyes. "Yeah, yeah...I'm sure you're not." She might have dealt with some frustrations over the course of her career, and she might have her shortcomings when it came to grappling and the ground game, but Blair was confident she was one of the best stand-up strikers in LAW - her skills had carried her to the top of the competition in both professional Muay Thai and in MMA. If a Young Lioness thought she was going to talk back to her on that front, Blair was prepared to teach her a lesson she wouldn't soon forget.

In fact, Blair was looking to show off her prowess right from the get-go. As a style, Muay Thai made heavy use of the clinch to set up powerful blows from close range and exploit multiple angles of attack - Blair had learned that well, and she was going to put that into practice. She wanted to show Reny the danger in underestimating her from the very first blow of the match, as she rammed her elbow straight into the girl's side. Watching as Reny recoiled in pain, Blair nodded her head. This was a vindication. She felt she'd made a point, not just to Reny but to everyone who had doubted her - in the press, in the management, and watching in the arena right now. But Reny was far from done.

Reny ducked low, but suddenly she shot her fist back up, slamming it right into Blair's midsection! The force she was capable of delivering was enough to make Blair's eyes widen in shock just a little - but only seconds later, her face contorted into a grimace as she groaned from the pain. An ache rippled through her body, and she grit her teeth, squeezing her fists tighter to try and stifle the sore sensation. It wasn't just that Reny had hurt her - it was that she could hurt her like this. For a Young Lioness, she was actually giving Blair some trouble. And that just made the Muay Thai fighter that much angrier. She knew she could do better than this. She wasn't losing to a rookie. And if Reny was going to keep her on her toes...it was up to her to up her game!

She had indeed been forced to take a step back from Reny as she recoiled from her punch, letting the clinch slip, and she bent a little lower. But she stayed on her feet - and when she saw Reny coming closer toward her, she would be ready. Standing back up straight and shifting her weight to her right leg, she would swing her left knee straight up into the air, looking to block Reny's incoming punch with her shin. And if that worked, she could kick her foot straight out to deliver a heel thrust right at Reny's throat!

Blair word would have pissed her off a bit as it couldn't be more obvious that Blair is looking down on her, and here she thought that her opponent would be like her sister just much weaker, but that word she send out would dash her dream in a instance "oh i will give you something you won't disappoint, not sure if you can do the same" she said in a frustrated tone and began to talk smack as she can wait to show off to that big jerk

And show her off, she did as the liver punch that she delivered during their clinch would have been enough to make groan in pain and took a step back from the pain. This punch should be enough to tell Blair straight up that if she keep underestimate her then she will pay when she in the ground unconscious

Thinking that the buckle over Blair is still hurt and still stun, Reny would have charge ahead to try to send a hook toward her face. Unfortunately for her tho, her opponent is ready for her attack as her hook would have been block by their shin making Reny eye widen slight as it seem Blair recovered a lot quicker than she expected. Her surprice would have make her reaction to slow, tho even then...even if she could see it coming, she would probably unable to dodge it.

The heel would have hit her directly at her throat as it would have taken away her ability to scream from the pain as the impact of the blow would have send her flying back as she landed hard on her upper back but before the count even begin, she would have go with the momentum to keep rolling so she could plant both of her feet on the ground as she would have let out a violent cough as she would have tried to regain her breath as she haven't even put up her guard again as she to busy recovering from the blow toward her throat, thankfully she put a fair distance away from her opponent so she should be relatively safe right?

When Blair already couldn't help but feel like she was letting herself down, and that she was unable to live up to her own expectations, hearing Reny insinuate that she could only be a disappointment would only twist that knife deeper. Her body stiffened and her teeth clenched in frustration as she hissed at her opponent - but only a moment later, Reny would back up her bravado, as she lashed out with a hard punch right to Blair's liver! The impact was strong enough to make the Muay Thai fighter go stumbling back, her eyes squeezed shut in a wince as a sore sensation shot through her whole body. For a moment, her knees buckled under her own weight. But she was quick to push herself back up straight, and she only clenched her fist tighter, burying her nails into the palms of her hand to try and ground herself. She had received a rude awakening that Reny was no opponent to take lightly. But if she was going to have to step up her game...then so be it; she was ready!

Swinging her leg straight up in the air, Blair used her shin to block Reny's incoming hook. She winced as she stretched her muscles; she could still feel the lingering soreness where Reny had nailed her in the liver, but she had to grit her teeth and bear through it, knowing the alternative was worse. The alternative was certain defeat, and Blair couldn't afford any more of those! Once she had her leg raised, she was already halfway there - she thrust outward with her foot, hurling Reny straight off her feet!

A few gasps went through the crowd at the sheer force of the kick. If Reny had caught their attention with her flashy entrance, now Blair was reminding them they had every reason to keep their eyes on the action, if she could deliver such excitement despite her humble place on the card. To Blair, the sight of her opponent coming down with a thud, sending the canvas rumbling beneath her feet, brought a sense of relief and vindication. Finally, after so long of having to struggle, of not being taken seriously, she had shown the world in no uncertain terms that she still belonged in this ring. She smiled just a little - but that smile soon went serious. Reny was no one Blair could afford to go easy on. Now that she was down, she was open, and the Canadian had the opportunity to press her advantage - an opportunity she wouldn't shy away from!

Blair stormed toward Reny with measured steps and a careful gait. She didn't take her eyes off the Young Lioness all the while - she couldn't be sure Reny wouldn't have some sort of trick up her sleeve. But if she came into range, she would quickly go to grab Reny by the leg, and fall to her back, throwing her legs around her thigh and pulling backward to stretch her joints with a kneebar! Blair might have been a striker first and foremost, but she felt that this would be an opportunity to weaken Reny's stance and sense of balance, making it that much harder for her to pull off a comeback.

When Reny look up to see Blair approaching her carefully, she would have take a step back as she tried to raise both of her hand up get her guard, even if she is still recovering and trying to breath properly after the hit toward the neck, as long as she look like she could fight back then it should deter someone to attack recklessly, she would have keep backing away until her back hit the rope as her eye widen as she have no space left to run

When she saw that Blair would have in position herself to attack, Reny would have flinch and raise her guard up high, she remember distinctively that Blair strongest weapon is her roundhouse kick toward the head, if she could guard that then it should tilt the tide to her favor somewhat

Unfortunately for Reny, Blair didn't do something she expect as she would have go low and begin to grab her leg and pull as Reny could only let out a yelp in responce as she would have fall toward the ground again as she would have let out a groan of pain from the impact, but that groan would soon turn to scream when her opponent successfully lock in the kneebar, as Reny would have tried to calm herself down and not fly into complete panic and make it worst for herself.

Remembering that she is closed toward the rope she would have tried to reach out to it, as even though the rope is physically close...in Reny eye at that moment, the rope is so far away as she reach out toward it and grab it tightly with all her might as she would have force her ropebreak to break the hold that opponent put on her, hopefully Blair played by the rule and release her immediately as she rather not find out what will happen if she forcefully keep holding on into the hold for much longer
