Tsubasa Oribe found herself preparing to walk into a very... weird situation. The idol knew that LAW was practically known for its unorthodoxy, but the rookie had never quite expected to be caught up in it like this. Making her way to an oil wrestling match, wearing "the skimpiest recreation of your idol outfit that this number can convince you to wear" as her attire for the match.
Dressing like this was normally something Tsubasa would never do. As being seen dressed as she was would be career endingly scandalous even for an idol marketed more on the "sexy" side rather than the "cute" side more typical of an idol. And even if it wasn't, Tsubasa was no exhibitionist. She didn't like being dressed in this little clothing casually in her own home.
But there were two mitigating factors that convinced Tsubasa to be here, wearing what she was. Firstly, the idol had contractually signed guarantees that the match would be private to the extent that the only person who would see Tsubasa dressed as she was would be her opponent, Natasha Loclear, who had also agreed that nothing more specific than "I wrestled Tsubasa Oribe" would ever cross her lips concerning this match. The second reason, which overcame Tsubasa's personal hang-ups beyond her professional image, was that Natasha was an obscenely wealthy woman. And she had offered a frankly difficult to believe sum of cash to Tsubasa for the idol to take this match. And if she won, Natasha had promised the idol a bonus more than befitting the betting odds that Tsubasa would probably be facing were this match public.
Tsubasa had joined LAW to use wrestling as a means to further her idol career. And once she had gotten Natasha to accept that there was no amount of money that could convince the chaste idol to agree to a sexfight, the offer still left on the table provided the opportunity for so much progress that Tsubasa couldn't refuse. In the idol industry, money made the world go round, same as anything else. Despite Tsubasa finding enough success with her talent to win Japan's Rookie Idol of the Year award at 17, funding could still prove an obstacle for the young idol. Tsubasa's management company, while employing other significant talent beyond herself, was still a decidedly mid sized company paled in comparison to the mega agencies of the industry. And while Tsubasa was successful, she simply hadn't been in the industry long enough to build up the type of wealth necessary to fund things herself.
This meant funding for Tsubasa's performances came largely from outside sources. And the people who had the money had the say over all the decision making they wanted when it came to the show. They could make Tsubasa perform how they wanted, under the conditions they desired, and then threaten to cut funding if Tsubasa didn't like it. The idols working with the big agencies with money to burn, or who had enough sustained success to build up significant personal capital, had access to the money that gave them the control over their own performances. Control that Tsubasa yearned for so that she could tailor her performances personally, to the benefit of her own desires and growth as an idol rather than the desires of the sponsors. By taking this match, Tsubasa was earning the type of capital worth years of hard work and progress in a single evening. So here Tsubasa was, about to oil wrestle someone who realistically should kick her butt while dressed in an outfit that only technically covered her breasts and crotch.
Tsubasa made her way into the room where the ring she'd be fighting in was located. With no audience, the arena was logically far smaller, and more modest than what LAW usually provided for matches. Natasha had already arrived, and was waiting for her in the ring. Though the idol noticed that the ring seemed oddly dry.
"Hello Natasha," said the idol upon reaching the ring and entering.
"We agreed to an oil match, right? So where is it? I hope you weren't counting on me to supply it."
