Though this was not the first time she announced to the world what she had done. Even if she was talking to herself in the first place...
One should've seen her back at home in Kyoto, Japan, when she read the email that invited her to join L.A.W.'s main Lightweight roster. She was ecstatic. So much so, she woke up the whole town with her cries of joy.
Her neighbors did not exactly share the same enthusiasm as her upon the reveal though.
Getting a little tired of jumping around and fangirling about what she has done, Nariko quickly composes herself. Slapping her cheeks hard to get her focused and mentally prepared for her debut.
"Woooo... All right, Nariko. Your time to shine is about to come. Let's go show L.A.W. what we're made of." Nariko hypes herself up. Hopping in place and shaking her hands — getting rid of all the nerves out of her system and changing that to adrenaline instead.
As if on queue, a stagehand enters the locker room to call for her attention.
"Get ready, 'Thunderbolt'. You're up in five."
"Huh? All right. I'll be right there!" Nariko and the stagehand exchange nods just before the stagehand leaves. Nariko then looks at herself using a nearby mirror. Checking herself out. Her wrestling attire was commissioned by L.A.W. management so this was the first time she's worn something like it.
She looks good on it. She loves it. She expresses that feeling with a smirk and a pose.
"Okay, no more distractions. This is it. This is the real thing. C'mon, 'Thunderbolt'. To the ring we go!"
With that last message to herself, Nariko leaves for the ring. First standing backstage to wait for her introduction.
. . .
The arena was packed with people. They knew that tonight's match was going to be a fun watch. It stars a young rookie who is about to make their debut in L.A.W. as well as the reigning Lightweight champion, Rose Gold. The crowd is expecting a one-sided match — a jobber to be fed to a heel. They are eager to see the champion in action but at the same time, are keen on seeing how the rookie is to perform. Unfortunately for Nariko, she was a nobody to the majority of L.A.W.'s audience. Including its roster. Nonetheless, the crowd is there to support both fighters and to enjoy the female and female rough-housing that will occur in the ring. Who doesn't like a good catfight? Especially one that stars very attractive women.
Time passes and the announcer would get on stage and proceed with the introduction of the match.
"LADIES AND GENTLEMEN! THIS CONTEST IS SCHEDULED FOR ONE FALL! INTRODUCING FIRST — WEIGHING IN AT ONE-HUNDRED AND TWELVE POUNDS, STANDING AT FIVE-FOOT FOUR, L.A.W.'S LATEST EDITION TO THE LIGHTWEIGHT ROSTER, NARIKO "THUNDERBOLT" AOKI!"
"Here we go!"
As her entrance music, Thunderstruck by AC/DC, erupts from all the speakers in the arena, the crowd gets loud to. A fine song choice to really get the energy up of anyone present. In fact, everyone started to sing along with the introduction of the piece.
"THUNDER! OH, AHHHHHHHH AHHHH AHHHHH! THUNDER! OH, AHHHHHHHH AHHHH AHHHHH! THUNDER-!
Once the song started to kick up and the rest of the lyrics start to play, Nariko starts running out of backstage to reveal herself to the loud and waiting crowd. From their cheers and roars, it's more than clear to Nariko that she has finally achieved her dream. It felt so surreal to her. The energy of the crowd and all the adrenaline that's inside of her. She could not help herself but move.
And move she does.
While her entrance music continues to play in the background, Nariko starts running down the ramp and heading right for the ring. Hopping up and sliding underneath the ropes in quick fashion, she'd quickly stand and wave at the crowd. She was all smile and joy. She even took a rally around the ring, getting on top of the turnbuckles of a few corners of the ring to greet the audience. Laughing as she goes. She was also almost in tears. This is where she belongs. In the ring where many people get to watch her and be by her side.
She's really done it.
Once the song starts to die down, Nariko takes a deep breath and occupies one of the corners of the ring. Waiting for her opponent to make her entry.
"Here... we... go..."
