"Diamond" Deanna Duncan vs. "Wonder" Sakura Ikari

Unread post by Dubski »

"Diamond" Deanna Duncan vs. "Wonder" Sakura Ikari
Match Type:
Standard Match
Rules: Winner must pin, submit, or knock out the loser.

"I'm feeling good about this one, Cheyenne!" exclaimed Deanna Duncan, beaming proudly backstage. "Really really good. Like so good I might be able to do this blindfolded! One arm tied behind my back! While doing a handstand for the entire match! That's how good this match feels to me right now against, uh... who was it?"

"Debuting wrestler "Wonder" Sakura Ikari," answered Cheyenne Black Rock, who was contently sitting on a bench backstage, looking at her phone.

"Pfft, okay Chey. So you know her and I don't. No big deal. What else could you possibly know about her?" said Duncan, rolling her eyes.

"She graduated top of her class in college before pursuing wrestling as a dream of her's, people are saying she's friendly, she has poor eye sight and wears glasses as a result, is twenty-one years of age, with brown hair and blue eyes, and you're both roughly the same height and weight," answered Deanna's Native American partner, raising her eyebrows as she glanced up at her. "And she is, as mentioned, debuting tonight."

Duncan gave Cheyenne a weird look before holding up a hand. "Okay, whatever point that you think you made, I'm outright refusing to your face to understand it, so I hope you're happy," said Deanna indignantly.

"I'm indifferent," replied Cheyenne, looking at her phone again. "And you're certain you don't want me out there?" questioned Black Rock.

"Yeeeees! You didn't hear what I said about the feeling good? Really good? Blindfolds? Handstands? Cheyenne "Wawa" Black Rock, I am completely fine this time! I just want you to park your beautiful keister on a seat backstage and watch and... do whatever it is you do when we're not hanging out," explained Deanna with a big smile.

"Usually resting," informed the Native American.

"Then reeeeeeest away Chey! Because mama's got a match to win," the platinum-haired girl said before marching down the hall.

"Other way, Deanna," spoke Cheyenne, prompting Deanna to turn and walk the opposite way without a word towards the entrance area of the arena.

Shortly after that, Deanna Duncan's theme hit, Nerves by Icon For Hire, as she walked out cheerfully, arms out as she grooves to her own music down the ramp! She slaps hands with some of the fans, looking like she's having a great time, and gets to the ring, sliding under it. Taking her jacket off from her entrance and throwing it out to the ring announcer, she throws up a hand and makes her way to the corner, trying to get the crowd to grow louder as she clapped her hands before hopping onto the top ropes in the corner and laying across it, reclining on them like they were a hammock as she awaited her opponent's arrival.

“Okay. Breathe in… breathe out… in… out...” Inside the locker room rested a woman, sitting on the floor while fully equipped with her rubbery bodysuit, getting ready for her debut. That was Sakura Ikari and she was set to debut that night, but it didn’t look like she was completely ready for that. The woman was sitting in a meditating position but she was actually shaking like a leaf. She definitely had to do something about those nerves. “Come on Sakura, you worked a lot for this and this is the great day. Just do it like while training and everything would be fine.” Sakura was giving herself a motivational speech, and a decent one. It wasn’t the first time she did that, it had helped her calm her mind before any important exam or appointment and now it was going to set her mind ready for her debut.

Breathing deep the woman got on her feet and in front of a mirror making some final adjustments to her attire, which was an amazingly crafter piece of gear out of some of Sakura’s dreams, before getting to the final detail of her preparations. Putting her glasses aside the woman started getting some contact lenses on. “Ugh I hate these things!” That wasn’t a lie. Sakura was a little self-aware and for her her glasses were like a built-in part of her face. She had been using glasses for so long she couldn’t imagine her face without them, it was as if it wasn’t her, but she would need to get used to it now that she turned into a wrestler. “Anything for your dream...”, she said instants before getting startled by some knocking on the door that signaled her turn to make an appearance on stage.

Finally backstage Sakura looked at the bustling arena while her rival finished her entrance. The woman looked energetic and the crowd loved that, while Sakura was feeling a little intimidated but also excited. When she got the final signal from a LAW employee she walked on the ramp and started her walk towards the ring. While daydreaming about her dream career as a wrestler Sakura knew that she wanted to look cool but not too hyper or overly enthusiast to the point she could instill repudiation on the people. She wanted to look composed and modest, but also as someone people could look up to. At first she was a little nervous while walking to the ring, but seeing the people’s excited reaction to her made her relax a little and start smiling to some newfound fans while giving them thumbs up and V’s for victory.

When she reached the ring Sakura slipped below the ropes before making a final wave at the public and going to her corner where she made some final stretches as warmup before the referee called both wrestlers to the center of the ring. That was when Sakura got the real first look at that rival: she looked incredible in that black attire, with pearl hair and an air of energy to her, but what kind of woman would she turn to be? Sakura had some hopes in her for her rival to be friendly, and even if it was unlikely of her she was the one to break the ice. “H-hello! You look great! Let’s have a great match, okay?”, said Sakura unable to hide how excited she was while offering her rival a hand in a sign of sportswomanship. "Please be nice. Please be nice...", she thought not knowing what she would do if her first rival turned out to be a heelish one.

Deanna Duncan continued to lay in her corner, grinning as she watched Sakura make her way to the ring. To Cheyenne's credit, she did seem to get the details of her opponent down entirely, which meant she was in fact facing a total rookie, which made her feel even more confident in herself.

When Sakura's entrance finished, Duncan got out of the corner and then walked towards the center of the ring, lazily stretching and then offering a coy smile to her opponent when she complimented her appearance. Putting one hand on her hip and raising her other arm and placing the hand under her chin, she preened proudly. "Well, thank you, baby! A girl's got to look her best when she's fighting, and that means no down time at all," started Deanna before continuing onward. "And of course you know I got that iconic look, iconic swagger, iconic body, and that iconic smile, have you checked out that smile? Like really hone in on it for a minute here sweetheart." The talkative Deanna paused, pointing and smiling her toothiest smile at her opponent before shrugging.

"And of course I've got to look good too for potential suitors too, but that's a whole other thing. But hey! Props on the little jump suit you got going on. Really molds right to that body there, so kudos on what you're packing too!" rambled Deanna good-naturedly. "And, of course, good luck and all of that. I know it's your first match and it's a big deal I'm sure, but I need you to know now, that I fully intend to completely whoop your ass. Just going all out to beat you. It's just the way it is, and no hard feelings, but that's entirely how I roll and I hope you can respect that and--"

The referee, looking exasperated, sounded for the bell and shook her head at Deanna in particular. Duncan glanced up, having not given her opponent a chance to even really speak before shrugging. "Think that's the bell. Heads up!" exclaimed Deanna Duncan, stepping forward and looking to clobber Sakura with a stiff forearm strike!

For the hours prior to her debut Sakura had been under lots of pressure thanks to her nerves and anxiety. It wasn’t much about her own appearance on scene but about the kind of rival she was going to face. Being a long standing wrestling fan she was fully aware of federations being full of wrestlers of all kinds, and that some of them were infamous for their heelish tactics, reveling in the torture and humiliation of their rivals. The debutant was a prudent and sensible person and was fully aware of the fact that if she pursued a career in wrestling she would have to eventually face several of those rivals, but the longer she could delay that event the better.

Thankfully, one simple look at that ‘Diamond’ woman and her presence and it was obvious she wasn’t going to be an abusive rival. Then the pale haired started talking and wow, that took Sakura off guard. If the debutant was enthusiastic about her career, she looked pretty aloof in comparison with that woman who was so into her wrestling persona that it was as if she was born in a ring! Deanna wouldn’t stop talking about both herself and Sakura, making the two of them look good in a friendly manner and that reassured the debutant to a great extent! However, despise all that Deanna also made clear that it was a match and she wouldn’t hold her punches until the bell signalled the victor. Sakura wouldn’t want it other way.

“Oh, thanks! So nice of you, but don’t hold ba-” At that instant the bell rang and Deanna’s stance shifted as she was now in combat mode. “Okay, you’ve got this. Just like in your training sessions.” Sakura needed an instant to adapt to the new situation but Deanna was more experienced and in her haste she went ahead of the debutant, which got directly hit with a forearm strike. Reeling back in surprise and some pain Sakura realized her rival wasn’t playing around and she respected that, so the debutant would try and respond in line with Deanna’s action with a forearm strike of her own, testing her rival swiftness and reflexes!

Deanna had nailed her forearm rather stiffly, looking satisfied with herself cheerfully. It was the little things that made Duncan happy in her matches, and a good, well-placed strike was one of them. "Alriiii--OW! she exclaimed as she was hit with a forearm next, holding her face and rubbing it. She smiled, however, licking her lips. She loved being hit by a good strike as well. It meant it would be a great match, and that thrill was the reason Deanna was in this career in the first place.

"Hey, not bad!" offered Deanna Duncan in a compliment before hauling back and coming right at Sakura with a flurry of forearm strikes now, trying to absolutely rain the strikes on top of her, all the while still talking. "But I'm pretty good myself. Diamond because that's how hard my strikes are--like a diamond. I mean, not really because of that but it's a different origin story," rambled Deanna before stepping back and then adding. "No time for that though!" And then, she stepped forward again, attempting to wallop Ikari with a strong European Uppercut!

Deanna was approaching the match from a competitive but still friendly approach, and that reassured Sakura who was feeling a bit appalled before the match started. That woman really liked talking and talking about herself, but to Sakura that didn’t strike as a sign of egotism but as a fun trait and a cool in-character gimmick for her wrestling persona. She liked hearing that woman talk and when she teased some origin story Sakura thought about what would that one look like.

There was no more time to think about that though as Deanna quickly shifted the mood towards a more competitive one. It looked like some of her gimmicks, being able to go from casual banter to proper wrestling in no time! Sakura needed some time to adjust to that, but when Deanna threw an European Uppercut Sakura’s instincts took over. “Whoah!” Without even realizing how she did it the debutant dodged to one side, circling around her rival in a swift move before she could get her arms around Deanna’s body to go for a suplex move as a follow up to her evade!

Little did Sakura know, nor did many other people at that end, is that Deanna's motor-mouth has hardly any character of any kind. All they would need to do was ask her friend Cheyenne Black Rock and she would portray a very accurate assessment of Duncan's inability to shut up.

Fortunately for Sakura, it didn't mean much as she did manage to evade the European Uppercut from the talkative girl. Not only that, she had attempted to hoist her up in a suplex as well, garnering a gasp of surprise from the platinum-haired girl!

With a quick shift of her hips though, Deanna had managed to land behind Sakura with ease. "Nuh-uh! Tricky, tricky but not today!" yelled Deanna as she grabbed Sakura in a dragon sleeper. "Let's take you on a ride instead, baby!" shouted the Diamond before she would attempt to hoist Wonder up in a inverted suplex, hoping to plant her directly onto her front in the punishing move!

In just a couple of word exchanges Sakura was fully aware of something: despite her confident appearance the debutant was feeling a little under pressure because of her inexperienced, and this Deanna woman was clearly more energetic and confident on her skills based on the raw energy she exuded while she talked or moved. There was something about that woman, as if she was born in a ring and it was her natural place to be. Sakura, on the other hand, still needed to get used to lots of little things of wrestling, and that gave her a look of nervousness and discomfort. That didn’t mean that when combat instincts took in she wasn’t capable of great things like her suplex, but she still had a lot to work on.

Speaking of suplex, Sakura could feel a rush of excitement when she wrapped her arms around Deanna and she lifted the woman, but to her surprise Deanna turned a grim situation in an advantageous one twisting in the air so she could land on her feet instead of crashing on the mat. Confused, Sakura wanted to check what happened but she couldn’t because before she could turn back she was locked in a dragon sleeper. “Ack! Let go!” Sakura tried her best to break free but she didn’t have the skill nor the time to escape. Instants later Deanna made Sakura crash against the mat with an inverted suplex that got a cry of distress out of her as Sakura tried to crawl away and get some distance so she could recover.

Deanna Duncan had managed to slide out of the suplex attempt before throwing Sakura Ikari up and over her with an inverted suplex of her own! When Ikari crashed to the mat, Deanna sat back up with a big grin on her face, clapping her hands together. "Not that bad, right? I mean, unorthodox, maybe a little bit, but I like to throw a little innovation into my arsenal. Keep 'em guessing, you know?" Deanna would then turn to face Sakura, only to see her crawling away. "...Oh, wait, hold on! I need to hurt you again!"

Scrambling to her feet, Deanna would jog over to Sakura and then grab her around the arm to pull her into a double underhook. "So let's try another! Suplex, I mean," said Duncan. And then, she would attempt to lift and throw Ikari up with a Butterfly Suplex this time!

The match’s beginning had been a little quicker in pace that what Sakura expected. Instead of having some time to test the waters and their rival, both women had decided to go all out with crashing throws from the beginning, but in the end the debutant couldn’t help but feel it was her fault for starting with a suplex attempt that even if decent in its execution wasn’t enough as Deanna managed not only to avoid it but to turn it to her advantage.

Still a little surprised and pained from the last suplex there wasn’t much more Sakura could do but to try and crawl back to safe. Deanna had something to say about it though, as she caught the debutant and suddenly Sakura was on the receiving end of a butterfly suplex! “Uaagh!” This time Sakura wouldn’t try to flee after impact. Her body would flop on the mat as she rolled on her side, kicking and thrashing from the distress she was feeling now.
