Melody didn't know whether to be pissed or afraid. 2 days ago, she had recieved an email from the management, asking her to take part in a hardcore match. Although the last hardcore match she took part in ended pretty badly, she thought that 7 month between the matches was enough rest for her to finally get back to the insane world of hardcore wrestling.
Only when she came to the arena tonight, a crewmember explained to her the match type she was going to fight in. She was horrified. A regular hardcore match was already scary enough. What the crewmember described to her nearly made her faint. The email lied to her. It wasn't a hardcore match, it was a deathmatch.
Never seeing a single piranha in her life outside of TV and Internet, Melody was already afraid of the omnivore fish. She couldn't help but think that, by the end of this night, she was going to develop a phobia for this type of fish. And that's if she is lucky.
Melody's heart was racing as the ring announcer explained the rules of the match over the PA. Still, as a crewmember counted down from 10 for her to enter, she tried to calm down:
"It's just a match. Granted, one that will require extensive medical...and maybe psychological assistance, but it is still just a match...I've got this.
As the crewmember counted down to zero, Melody has calmed down, and went onto the entrance ramp to her theme song.
She tried not to show her fear for the stipulation as she walked down to the ring, giving as many high-fives to the crowd, stopping before the piles of weapons scattered around the ringside that may or may not come into play during the match to th the best way to avoid losing the match (eyeing the nearest kendo stick to know where it is once things will get heated), before finally stepping into the ring.
She stepped towards the fishtank, which had green-ish water in it. Sure enough, she could see a lot of swimming teeth in the water. With how fast the piranhas were swimming around, Melody knew that they were hungry.
"And I won't become their meal", she would think to herself as she would go to a corner to leave her jacket, sleeves and shirt outside, leaving her in ehr usual attire of a sports bra, racer pants and green shoes as she awaited her opponent for the match. She thought that, if her opponent was nice, she'd try to negotiate to keep things civil. If not...well, then both of them are in trouble.
