Athena Wonder vs. Amy Evans - Battle of the Strong

Clutching onto the bottom rope, Athena was finally freed from the hold, but her leg was effectively useless after being released, and it would be useless for quite some time in this match. She would pull herself up, favoring her other foot as she would use the ropes to support herself. She winced and scowled, trying her best to not show how painful her leg was.

But as soon as she was up, Athena saw Amy closing in and punching at her sides, causing the veteran to gasp out in pain. Gritting her teeth, she would try to swipe her arm at the direction of Amy, hoping to keep her at bay for a while as she would focus on her recovery. If she could at least make some use on her affected leg, she might be able to stand a chance against the younger blonde.

Amy knew as tough as Athena was Amy had the tenacity to find a weakness. She wasn’t sure if she had found it but she had certainly found an opening to work on her, the wonder was tough but Amy had asserted control in this match and was trying to chop her down like a tree. Her punches started to strike Athena again and the older wrestler was forced to endure while trying to swat her away like a big. Unfortunately for her Amy was a bit bigger then a bug, She wouldn’t be easy to keep off her.

“What don’t want to be close anymore? Come on Athena they don’t want us to keep your distance your fans want a fight.” Amy would grab her arm and try to force it away so she could close in and hit Athena with a lariat across the chest. If she hit that she would bring her leg up and try to hit Athena’s hurt leg some more.

Athena tried to keep Amy away from her as she tried to recover, but Amy managed to catch her arm before she pulled her close. Then, the younger woman tried to hit her with a lariat, taking the blonde veteran down onto the mat. "UGHH!!!" Not only that, Amy also went to target her hurt leg, bringing down her own foot at it.

"AGGHHH!!!"

Athena writhed on the mat painfully, and she tried to roll herself over to her side. It seemed that she was in such a dire state that her opponent would be able to keep piling damage after damage on her. Athena tried to think of a way to turn the table, but so far, there was no opportunity to do so, leaving herself in a disadvantageous position.

When Athena dropped Amy was standing above her and would grab the big women to slowly bring her back up to her feet, keeping her there and trying to throw her arms over the rope. The sight of the big wonder being controlled by Amy had to be a surprise to her many fans who had seen her throughout her career, and Amy felt proud of her ability to do this well against an established vet, but now that she had her she wouldnt let her go that easily as she would grab her arms and pull them while they were over the ropes keeping Athena and forcing her to stay up and so long as she had her arms Athena only had one good leg to stand on or try to ward her off.

"Your a tough cookie, but even the toughest one is just prey in the end."Amy would bring her foot up and jam it into Athena's gut before trying to pull on her arms to keep pressing the air out of her. Soon after she would pull her leg back and kick Athena in the leg as well before closing in and driving three knees into her stomach.

Athena struggled to maintain her bearing as Amy continued dealing damage on her. She knew that she had to find an opening in order to turn the table, but so far, she found none. Amy went to pull Athena up and have her arms draped over the top rope, trapping her there. Athena tried her best to clear her mind and focus on her recovery, but she was unable to do so as Amy went to kick at her stomach, causing the blonde veteran to gasp out in pain, air expelled out of her lungs.

"HUOGGH!!!"

Amy continued with her attacks, and Athena could only take them, gasping and crying out in pain with each blow. She had difficulty to breathe thanks to all those hits, and for the time being, the younger woman held an obvious advantage over the red-clad veteran.

Amy had kept control but she knew that the longer this went on the longer that she gave her to recover. Amy couldn’t let her time on top just fall apart so after the kick winded her Amy would move in and hold Athena close and would try to toss her back and send her back to the center of the ring by grabbing her bad leg and her hip lifting her up turning them around and dropping her down with a spinebuster!

Should that hit she would stand up and grab Athena to bring her up now that they were away from the ropes. Looking to get low and lift Athena up on her shoulders. Holding her up high Amy would waste little time going for the F-5 to try and put Athena down for good.

Athena tried her best to keep enduring the attacks from Amy, but then, Amy decided to get her to the center of the ring before she lifted her up and then brought her down into the mat with a spinebuster. "UAGHH!!!" Athena cried out in pain as she landed on her back. She was in such a dire state now, and she was then pulled up and brought up onto Amy's shoulders, presumably to finish her off for good.

Knowing that she might be toast if this continued, Athena would try to get her arm around Amy's head while she was still on her shoulders. Then, before Amy could throw her down, the veteran wrestler would try to drop herself while bringing her opponent's head down with her, looking to bring her down into the mat with an improvised DDT!

Amy dropped Athena once again nearly crushing the body with the spinebuster and showing off her raw power once more. It seemed to many if the match continued like this Amy was going to take Athena in her update, and Amy was okay with that. Pulling up the dazed and battered Athena she set her up for the finish, but Athena showed how experience prepares you to fight back even when beaten down. Rather then fight Amy's move she rolled with it, shifting her weight as she was tossed and adjusting to try and turn the move into her favor, grabbing Amy's head with her she dropped her down with a DDT that was bound to make Amy's head spin!

"Guuuuagk!" Amy screamed, all of her momentum from throwing Athena was used her against her and she basically spiked the mat, with a bit more force her head might have actually gone through it, and when that collision shook through the rest of her she awkwardly fell to her back, her neck and head all sorts of messed up and the Lion went from tall predator to wounded in a matter of seconds.

Thanks to Athena's quick thinking, she managed to turn the situation around, catching Amy's head before dropping herself, making use of the gravity to bring Amy's head down with her, spiking her head into the mat with an improvised DDT! Landing on the mat, Athena grunted as she hit the canvas, but she would immediately push herself up and look at her opponent, seeing that the DDT had devastated her quite significantly. She knew that she had to make use of this opportunity to inflict more damage on the younger woman.

Still, her leg was hurting from Amy's attacks earlier, and she groaned as she pushed herself up, favoring her unhurt foot in order to stand up. Her progress would be a little slow, but she had a feeling that the DDT would keep her opponent stunned at the moment, allowing her to take her time for her next move.

The momentum had stalled her offense for the foreseeable future but she still was trying to stand up after the brutal take down she endured, cursing at letting her own move be used against her like that. The pain wasnt passing super quickly but Amy was used to taking hits and was ding her best to ignore it for her own sake, pulling up again watching her once reeling foe trying to get up as well.

Amy would reach her feet and lean back on the ropes for a second shaking off some last minute cobwebs, they just kept coming in waves since the DDT. If she was smart she could still pull this off, no matter how much it hurt Athena was still several kinds of injured and nothing would make that any different, she just had to play it smart and keep working on the parts she knew were hurt, and get her head back in the game.
