A Canadian Hello: Erika LaVoy (D) vs Karen Adams

The bell rang: at the sound, Erika released her battered opponent and let Karen slump to the mat. As the German powerhouse crumpled down in a heap, Erika stood over her heaving foe, beaming as the crowd erupted into cheers. She raised her arms, panting hard, her body covered in a fine sheen of sweat; Karen had given her a hard debut match, but she had emerged triumphant in the end. LAW's newest wrestler had won in a very impressive debut match.

Shifting over to look down at Karen, Erika extended a hand down to her. "Hey, you okay?" she asked, still smiling. "You were great! You gave me one hell of a tough fight, you know?"

It was a terrible thing. No one expected this turn of events. Karen lay exhausted and destroyed on the mat. Erika was a new wrestler, yet she proved to be very strong. Karen had clearly taken this fight too lightly, thinking she could easily defeat her opponent. However, it turned out quite differently. Her opponent triumphed, but the German was so exhausted that she was unaware of what was happening around her.

After a moment, Karen seemed to wake up and heard Erika speaking to her and extending her hand. Karen muttered something in a choked voice: "Nothing... I'm fine..." She also extended her hand to her opponent, but she certainly wouldn't be able to stand and stay on her feet without someone's help.

Erika's heart was still racing. She had come into this match with zero expectations-- hell, she had already been mentally preparing herself for a possible loss-- but instead, she had come out of this with a clean victory! The cheers of the fans made her debut win all that much sweeter, and those cheers only grew louder as Karen, showing proper sportswomanship, extended a hand and hoisted Karen to her feet. The German seemed to have difficulty standing, but, at least, stand she did.

"Great!" Erika beamed. "I was afraid I had gone a little overboard there, ya know?" She patted her opponent on the shoulder. "Come on, lets get out of here. You gave me one hell of a fight, so drinks are on me!" And with that, Erika would support Karen as she guided her fellow wrestler out of the ring, the cheers of the audience echoing around them.

When Karen extended her hand, her opponent pulled her up. Karen was still dazed, but it dawned on her that she had lost to the debutant today. Well, the plans were different, but Erika proved to be the stronger one today. The wrestlers left the ring, and the audience cheered and roared.

Karen was clearly walking unsteadily, clinging to Erika with one arm and wiping her sweat-drenched face with the other. Now she definitely needed a break, but who knows, there would surely be another opportunity to meet Erika, perhaps under different circumstances, perhaps even at a bar for a drink...
