Mae Madison vs. Layla Colt - Fight the Power

Mae managed to foil Layla's plan by smashing her face with a forearm smash. This somehow riled Layla up and she went to try to lock up with her again. Seeing the frustration in her opponent's face, Mae decided to capitalize on this as she would prepare herself for her opponent to come closer, and once Layla was close enough within her reach, she would step forth and try to grab onto her body before hoisting her up onto her shoulders.

"THIS! IS!"

Giving each of her words a loud emphasis, she would then throw her opponent down onto mat with a fireman's carry slam, and she would finish it off with a loud and hot-blooded battlecry.

"AMERICA!!!!"

As it turned out, the wild charge was a bad idea. Layla let her emotions get the better of her and as she rushed forward Mae was more than ready. The American stepped to meet her and neatly scooped the Canadian up of the ground. Layla yelped in surprise, arms and legs flailing aimlessly before Mae brought her crashing back to the mats in a firemans slam.

"AIIGGH!" Layla yelled in pain as she was driven into the mats, Mae's battlecry ringing in her ears. With her teeth gritted, she heaved her aching body into a roll, trying to get some distance. She would try to get to the ropes and use them to pull herself upright, getting ready to face Mae and have a chance to counter any follow up.

Mae threw Layla down into the mat with a fireman's slam, though it wasn't enough to keep her opponent down as Mae saw Layla rolling away from her, moving towards the ropes. Still, the American wouldn't let this discourage her as she would wait for her opponent to pick herself up, because as soon as Layla was on her feet, Mae would launch herself forward, running towards where Layla was as she would extend her arm out.

"TASTE THE MIGHT OF FREEDOM AND AMERICAN WAY!!!"

She would try to hit Layla with a lariat, hoping to send her over the top rope and outside the ring, where she would presumably fall onto the floor, taking more damage in the process.

Layla turned to find Mae thundering towards her yet again, eager to press her advantage, and she knew full well what was on the star-spangled grappler's mind. Mae had only one thing in mind: knocking Layla clear out of the ring.

Making a show of staggering unsteadily, Layla tried to present herself as an apparently easy target, using the ropes for support, eyes wide and fearful as Mae rushed across the ring.

Just as her opponent was about to smash into her, however, Layla suddenly surged into motion. She pushed off the ropes and ducked low, attempting to plant her head between Mae's legs. If she managed to position herself correctly, in the same swift motion she would stand up, hoping to turn the tables and flip Mae head over heels out of the ring!

Mae was certain that her effort to knock Layla out of the ring would be successful, with Layla looking like a deer in the headlights. But, what she didn't expect was Layla suddenly ducking low, bringing her head between Mae's legs. Before she knew it, the American somehow lost her footing as she was sent up and thrown out of the ring.

"WAHHH!!!"

Mae cried out as she was thrown over the ropes before she landed outside the ring, crashing onto the floor, back first. "URGHH!!!" Her brow scrunched up as she felt pain spreading all over her back. It seemed that Mae was in a dangerous position at the moment, with her outside the ring and on her back. Now that Mae was outside, the referee started counting for the count-out.

"ONE!"

Layla straightened up and whirled around, to find that her impromptu counter had been successful, and Mae now lay flat out on the outside of the ring, the referee beginning to count the American out.

This was a good a chance as Layla was going to get.

She seriously doubted Mae would stay down long enough for a ring out. If she wanted to finish this match she'd need to do the hard way. Although well aware of the chance she was about to take, the Canadian brawled felt it was worth the risk. Taking a few steps back to give herself a run up, Layla sprinted forward and catapulted herself over the top rope with a wild yell, aiming a flying elbow squarely at Mae's exposed midriff!

Mae was outside the ring at the moment after she was haphazardly sent out by her opponent before she crashed onto the floor. She groaned, lying on her back. She tried to gather her strength to push herself up, and she also had to return into the ring before the count reached ten, or else she would be counted out. That would be a humiliating defeat for a proud American such as her, and she would try to push herself up with her arms, and she was halfway up into a seated position when she saw Layla leaping over the top rope, moving towards her.

"GWUAHH!!!"

Mae was unable to react as she took a flying elbow right into her midriff. Her eyes widened as she took the blow, and she was once again sent back onto the floor. Her mouth became o-shaped as she tried to breathe. The pain was so unbearable that she remained on her back, leaving herself an open target for Layla to attack on.

The flight out of the ring was nerve-wracking, as Layla threw herself into empty space before plummeting back down towards Mae. She'd calculated it right though - the Star-Spangled grappler was not in a position to dodge away, and Layla's elbow came down like a jackhammer on her opponent's midriff!

Although she too was jarred by the sheer impact, Layla knew the damage was done. Grabbing Mae by the hair, she dragged the woman upright and hurled her back into the ring under the bottom rope.

Diving in after her, Layla threw herself atop the American and hooked up one leg for what she hoped would finally be the pin!

"COUNT HER OUT!" she screamed at the referee, the frustration and exhaustion of the match beginning to boil over.

"ONE!"

"TWO!"

Wheezing painfully after taking the hit from her opponent, Mae was then pulled up by Layla who proceeded to send her back into the ring. She was in such a battered shape that even after being put back into the ring, she was unable to get up, which allowed her opponent to continue with her momentum. When Layla returned into the ring, she went to pin her, and the referee started counting for the pin. From the look of it, Mae didn't seem to have enough strength left to continue fighting, and it might be the end for her in this match.

"TH-!"

Still, when the referee was about to reach the count of three, the American suddenly kicked out, breaking the pin. The crowd went crazy by this close call, and the match would still be going. But Mae was running on fumes at this point due to her injuries, and despite her kicking out, she couldn't do more than try to push Layla off of her.

The referee was half way through the final count and Layla's pinning grip had relaxed just a fraction, the Canadian convinced she'd finished up the match. But she was wrong. Someway, somehow, Mae kicked out again, much to the delight of the roaring fans who'd witnessed the back and forth match!

"You've gotta be kidding me," Layla snarled shrilly, shoving Mae back to the mats and glaring furiously at the referee. She ground her teeth together angrily, before grabbing Mae by the hair and hauling her upright. "You might regret, kicking out of that one, Miss Stars-n-Stripes," she warned grimly.

She dragged Mae into striking distance of the turnbuckle before leaping onto it herself. Layla had one last tool to use to finally finish off her tenacious opponent. With Mae standing staggered and helpless, she would hurl herself off the turnbuckle in a flying cartwheel kick, aiming to smash a heel into Mae's jaw with her finisher, the Slap Shot!
