Allen Riley vs. Kayla Grant - Hit and Run

Trapped in the submission hold, there was little Allen could do at this point. The hold was perfectly executed, and escaping it would require more than just brute force. Struggling to breathe, Allen would try to move, hoping to drag herself closer and closer to the ropes in order to get herself a rope break. She knew that the process would be tiring, but she had little choice at this point, and she would try to move closer to the ropes, hoping that she could at least reach the bottom rope with her foot.

Allen's face was getting red from having herself locked in the hold, and she could tell that if she remained locked in the hold for too long, she might end up losing her own consciousness, which would result in her immediate defeat. She would struggle to move herself towards the ropes in order to prevent that from happening.

With her arms tightly locked around Allen's head, all Kayla was left to do was wait. Even if Allen had shown a remarkable effort thus far, her stamina couldn't last forever, and sooner or later she would break - Kayla just had to wait and see when that would happen. For now, though, it seemed like she was on that track, a fact that brought a smile to the Californian girl's face. She could feel her stamina draining, and the longer she had this locked on, the more likely it seemed she'd push her over the edge!

However, even now, Allen was giving it her all to fight back! She started dragging herself over the canvas, trying to reach the ropes. Kayla saw this, but she met it with doubling down on her efforts, not wanting her foe to get away from her - not when she was so close! The determination building in her and giving her strength, Kayla clenched her teeth tightly, squeezing down harder with her arms to punish Allen all the more! However, try as she might, she would soon hear the call of the ref...

"ROPE BREAK!"

Sure enough, Allen had gotten just barely close enough to get her foot on the rope! Breaking away from the Englishwoman, Kayla released her head and stepped back, shaking herself out. It looked like victory would have to wait - but she hoped her move would be enough to impair Allen's performance all the same!

Allen successfully got herself a rope break, but the hold had left her extremely drained, as she was unable to get herself up. She remained on the mat even after being released by Kayla, panting hard. Her face was red from the air deprivation, and it looked like she might need a long while to recover, which would put her in a more compromising position.

"Uughhh..." Groaning, Allen would try to roll herself over onto her front before pushing herself onto her hands and knees, getting herself on all four. Still feeling drained, she would need a while to recover, and due to her current state, she would be near helpless before her opponent, who could do whatever she wanted to her. "Ghhh..." Still, Allen would try to get herself up, hoping to at least get herself in a vertical position, preparing herself for what to come.

Even if she'd managed to escape the hold, Allen was still noticably worse for wear. Kayla broke away from her, rolling to her feet and rubbing at her shoulders to try and work out the last bit of achiness left in her after the Romero Special, but through all of that Allen was still on the ground, catching her breath. Kayla couldn't really complain about this. If Allen was out for a few seconds, that was a few seconds she wasn't trying to pin her down, and she could use that time to recuperate, shaking the soreness out of her arms as she caught her breath.

Turning back around to see Allen picking herself back up, Kayla smirked. As sore as she might've been, she could still feel superior as she saw her in her current state. "You ready for the next round?" she asked, stepping closer. However, Kayla didn't give her much opportunity to answer before she struck again. "'cuz I am!" Punctuating her words, she turned to throw a chop right at her opponent's chest!

Forcing herself to get up, Allen was focusing on her recovery that she didn't prepare herself for what would come next. As soon as she was on her feet, she saw Kayla already approaching her, and before she could give any respond to her words, she took a chop right at her chest, eliciting a cry of pain from the British high-flyer. "Uwahhh!!!"

Due to her unreadiness, Allen couldn't immediately retaliate with an attack of her own as she nursed her own aching chest that took the chop from her opponent. Still, knowing that she would be in danger if she didn't do something, she would try to blindly lash out at Kayla, swinging her arm without actually focusing on her, hoping that she could at least hit her right at her face, though her lack of coordination might cause her to miss.

A loud thwack sounded through the arena as Kayla's chop connected, the crowd following it with, variably, either cheers for Kayla or winces in sympathy for Allen. Kayla knew which side she was on, though. She smirked with confidence, rubbing at her wrist as she locked her eyes on her opponent and awaited her next move.

Allen didn't seem to have much in the way of a plan, however. She simply spun around to swing her arm at the Californian - but, with Kayla staying to focus on her, it was only putting her into harm's way, and she could use this to set up her next move. Stepping quickly to the side, Kayla went to grab Allen's arm as it passed by to fix it in place. She looked over at her trapped foe, and her eyes alighted with a flicker of excitement as she felt she was in control. She bent down now, grabbing Allen by the leg and hoping that she was still stuck in place. If so, she'd be lined up for her next move - which would be to shift her weight upward and pull the Englishwoman off her feet, tossing her to the mat behind her in a back body drop!

With her lacking coordination at the moment, Allen's attempt to lash out at Kayla was easily caught, and the British high-flyer knew that she would be in deep trouble after this. Trying to get her mind focused on the match, Allen tried to pull back, but it was too late as Kayla bent down before shifting her own weight upwards, lifting Allen off of the mat before throwing her over with a back body drop!

"UGHH!!!"

Allen winced as she crashed into the canvas after being thrown over by her opponent. Pain spread all over her body, and she arched her back as she tried to soothe the pain. With her writhing on the mat, she had become an easy target for Kayla to attack, and at the moment, the high-flyer would have trouble defending herself against whatever her opponent would try to throw at her next.

This was where Kayla had the edge. Allen was still trying to get herself focused, coming off of the blows Kayla had unleashed on her, and as a result her shots were clumsy and uncoordianted, barely even aiming towards her opponent. Kayla, on the other hand, had settled into the groove, and she felt the excitement that came to her from a well-fought bout fueling her - allowing her to send Allen crashing to the mat as she stopped her in mid-strike, rolling it into a counter!

As Kayla got up from the mat, a grin spread over her face with the fire of triumph in her eyes. She balled a fist at her side, trying to quell the enthusiasm in her. The Californian felt like she was near to victory, but she couldn't celebrate yet. She still had to finish things off.

Luckily, she had a plan.

"Here goes!" the girl cheered, bending down to take Allen's legs. She picked them up and rolled the high-flyer onto her stomach before bending her knees and crossing her legs at the ankles. Then, stepping in between the two with her back to Allen, Kayla threw up two fingers in the air, making sure everyone's eyes were on her. She wanted this to be a moment they'd remember, and while she was never one to showboat, she figured if there was any time that warranted the enthusiasm, it was this one. She bent backwards, draping herself over her foe, and wrapped her fingers around her chin to wrench her head upward in a Muta lock, one of her finishing moves!

Allen's entire body was aching with agony, and it was hard for her to get her mind back in order. In contrast to her, Kayla was on the roll, and it looked like she was planning to finish her off with a submission hold. As Allen was trying to recover, she could feel her opponent grabbing onto her legs before she was rolled over onto her stomach. She could feel that her opponent was setting her up for something, and despite her best effort, she couldn't move herself to stop her.

Feeling her legs being crossed with her opponent's, Allen realized what Kayla was planning to do here. Those who were paying attention, especially those who were watching from the camera feed, as one of the cameramen was focusing on Allen's face, might be able to see her starting to panic. In her current condition, it would be near impossible for her to escape, and once Kayla locked her into this submission hold, it would be over for her. Sure enough, moments after Kayla brought her hands onto Allen's chin, her panic became more apparent.

"NGHHH!!! N-NO!!"

Allen got her head wrenched upwards in Kayla's Muta Lock, and due to the nature of this hold, which was already hard enough to escape from, it would be near impossible for Allen, whose body was battered, to escape. All she could do at the moment was to try to endure the hold, hoping that she could outlast her opponent, though she was aware that it would come with a heavy cost.

Kayla arched herself over Allen's back as she latched onto her chin, her upside-down face now locked into a snarl of determination as she focused all her effort on keeping the hold in. The hard part had been done for her, she thought to herself; now all she had to do was wait. Her hair hung down, and sweat trickled along her body from the exertion she'd been through in this match, both unleashing and receiving. Now, though, she was near to victory - she could almost taste it. And that left Kayla with the feeling she lived for.

Still, Allen was being remarkably resistant! Even when Kayla had her finisher locked in, she seemed determined to resist it. Still, that just meant Kayla would have to be especially firm. Clenching her teeth, she grasped Allen's head harder, her fingers digging more firmly into her jaw, as she bent her back further to try and apply pressure. "Come...on..." she muttered in between breaths, more to keep her own focus than anything else!
