Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
While Wyvern didn’t respond to Alizeh’s taunt about how much pain she was in, that had more to do with her preparations to reverse the force of the hold than the pain itself. As Alizeh has seen before, while Wyvern certainly feels pain, it seems to be able to do very little to actually control or distract her. It seems she’s been practicing her grappling, too; the Figure Four reversal is an orthodox move, but even that might have been beyond her knowledge 3 months ago. Experience had been a harsh teacher, but clearly a good one.
The sudden realization of what is about to happen next makes all of the pain worth it as Wyvern twists onto her stomach, even though the Texan wrestler manages to disentangle her legs before she becomes trapped in her own leg lock. When Alizeh scoots back to try to trap Wyvern once more, there’s no immediate response from the Irish wrestler. Any belief that it’s because she has no response is quickly dashed, however. The awkward initiation of the Boston Crab left Alizeh further down Wyvern’s legs than usual, giving her an opening to lift her torso off the ground and bend backwards. Before Alizeh can properly grab Wyvern’s legs, the younger wrestler reaches over her should and makes an attempt to seize a handful of her opponent’s hair, looking to drag her flat and leave the two of them back-to-back on the mat.
“I don’t want to hear any criticism about bad tactics from the one who wanted a chop-off in our last match. How long was your chest hurting after that?”
Without letting go her grip on Alizeh’s hair, Wyvern begins trying to roll over, intending to switch their positions and place herself on top of the pile.

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
Alizeh and Wyvern had wasted no time teeing off no each other, getting right into the action against one another and not relenting in the slightest now that they had the chance to face each other again. After a scary near fall Alizeh was looking to save some face by putting Wyvern through the ringer with some submission skills. Surprisingly however it seemed as if that Wyvern had bolstered her technical game since their last encounter given that Alizeh found her figure reversed in no time!
Given Alizeh's own technical expertise however she knew far too well than to let herself get caught in that reversal and untangled her legs just before they were fully rolled over. Immediately Alizeh tried to scoot back, intending to grab Wyvern's legs to pull back in a boston crab hold. However much to Alizeh's shock she found a hand suddenly grabbing and pulling at her hair! "Gah!" Gasping in pain and releasing her foes legs before she could pull back Alizeh was instead pulled right down until she was back to back against Wyvern! 'Definitely not what I had in mind when I was thinking about this rematch.' Alizeh thought to herself before chuckling in spite of the pain in her scalp courtesy of Wyvern.
But Alizeh couldn't help herself when she heard Wyvern's jab. "Ngh.. a while. But we both know it was a blast so shush." Alizeh shot back as they were rolled over. 'Whatever she had planned I don't want any part of it.' Alizeh thought to herself as she reached up, looking to give Wyvern a taste of her own medicine by grabbing her own dark locks! If she was successful Alizeh would attempt to pull and roll them over once more so she would be on top of the pile again! If successful in doing so Alizeh would attempt to turn so that she would be on her side against Wyvern's back, trying to capture the woman's arm with her legs before wrapping her free arm around the woman's chin and pulling back for a hair grab assisted crossface!

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
While perhaps not the most visually or technically impressive portion of the match, quickly devolving into a glorified hair-pulling match, Wyvern and Alizeh's back-and-forth on the mat was nonetheless an extension of the pitched contest that had defined the match so far. Wyvern took pride in the fact that her studying up on submission theory had borne fruit, with her evading and nearly reversing what would have otherwise been a debilitating and embarassing hold. The situation rapidly spirals out of control after that, though, placing both wrestlers in a supremely awkward position they were unable to escape for fear of exposing themselves to the other.
"That's true, it was pretty fun. We should do it again now! That last chop was an improvisation last time. I've-hss-been practicing and I can put some actual force behind it now~"
Given that said chop had nearly broken either Wyvern's hand or Alizeh's collarbone, she's not expecting her offer to get taken up, but the younger wrestler stubbornly refuses to cede any ground to her opponent if she can help it. A hiss of surprise and pain interrupts her as Alizeh returns the favor and seizes her own hair, however. Wyvern's hair had some practical applications in deathmatches and was a rare concession to her vanity, but it certainly wasn't doing her any favors her. Alizeh is able to secure a far more secure hold on Wyvern's locks than the younger wrestler had on hers, and quickly begins transitioning into another submission as she continues rolling them! Ultimately, a few months of half-practice wasn't going to make Wyvern much of a grappler, regardless of her improvement, and she has no way to overcome Alizeh once the scuffle turns more technical. The only functional resistance she's able to offer is continuing the roll into a third rotation off Alizeh's momentum. By the time the two come to a stop, Wyvern is pinned into a nasty crossface assisted by her own body. Pushing against her embarassment, the Irish wrestler flails her free arm outwards, managing to secure a grip on the ropes she had been aiming towards with the earlier third roll. That was quite enough of this "actual wrestling" stuff as far as she was concerned.

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
A war. That was the only way to describe what this match was right now. Between Alizeh's near early pinfall at the hands of Wyvern, to the now vicious battle for supremacy between the two by pulling on each other's hair in order to take the advantageous position between each other. Then again how could anyone expect nothing less? After the pitched battle between each other in their first bout it was never any wonder that their rematch would be as, if not more competitive, and right now both women were proving that right here and now as they pulled and rolled, fighting each other every inch for even a fraction of dominance and advantage.
Eventually however Alizeh's greater technical skill would win out over Wyvern's raw power and she would mount herself on top of Wyvern, winning the battle of wills but not at least without doing another full rotation over each other. For now at least Alizeh was in control as she locked her legs around the woman's arm and pulled her back with a arm around her chin and the grip on her hair, forcing the woman into a crossface submission as Alizeh pulled back with all her might in a effort to force some pain on Wyvern for the punishment she gave to Alizeh earlier. Unfortunately though that extra rotation was no mere accident. Rather it was to place both girls close to the ropes so that despite Alizeh taking the dominant position Wyvern was able to reach out and grab the ropes for a rope break before Alizeh could even hold the submission for long!
'Damn it.' Alizeh thought to herself as the ref stepped in to make it known that it was a rope break and that Alizeh had to let go. Nodding to acknowledge the ref Alizeh would release the submission.. but not after a extra painful crank of Wyvern's neck before she released the Irish wrestler. Standing back Alizeh would pant softly before gesturing for Wyvern to get up. "You know..." Alizeh said as she waited for Wyvern to stand back up. "I didn't answer because i was focused on getting that hold in." Alizeh said, her face morphing into more of a wild grin as she did so. "But another chop battle sounds great." Alizeh said, pounding her chest as she did so, inviting Wyvern to take a crack at her once she was up.

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
"Kch..."
Wyvern emits a pained sound as Alizeh wrenches her neck a final time before releasing the hold. Even with the Irish wrestler's monstrous tolerance for pain, the neck is a uniquely vulnerable part of the body, and she had no real way to directly train it to be stronger. In any other context, applying extra pressure after a rope break might be seen as unsportsmanlike or even sadistic, but those thoughts never even cross Wyvern's mind. Alizeh was taking every opportunity to gain an advantage over her, just as she would do in her opponent's position. Of course, said aggression is immediately followed up by a display of perhaps excessive sportsmanship, with Alizeh allowing Wyvern to get to her feet before continuing the bout. To much of the crowd, the interactions between the two in the ring seem bizarre, sliding from vicious, near-cheating attacks to over shows of respect like this one. To Wyvern and Alizeh, though, it's just natural.
Taking advantage of the reprieve granted by the Texan wrestler, Wyvern pauses in a kneeling position as she is pulling herself to her feet. Still holding the ropes with one hand for support, she uses the other to rub the back of her neck as she listens to Alizeh's proposal for another showdown of strikes; one that she notably lost in their previous match. Surprised but not one to pass up such an opportunity, Wyvern smiles coldly in response.
"I'll send a lovely flower arrangement to your funeral."
Lifting herself fully to her feet, Wyvern prowls in a wide half-circle around Alizeh before coming to a stop on the opposite side of where she started, putting the two wrestlers near the center of the ring. Once there, she unbuckles the small vest she wears over her tight undershirt before pulling it off and hurling it out of the ring entirely. Now with the skin of her collarbone and upper sternum fully exposed, she spreads her arms and gestures towards herself with her fingers.
"After you. Loser goes first."
A statement totally ignoring every subsequent interaction following their previous exchange of chops, but within that specific frame not technically incorrect.

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
Alizeh smiled at her foe as she started to let the woman get herself together and stand back up. It was clearly something that earned confusion and maybe even frustration from the crowd as to why Alizeh was not pushing her attack on Wyvern. But that was fine, they didn't have to understand. As far as Alizeh was concerned this was a battle of grit and wills between two warriors. Not even wrestlers, warriors. When they were in the midst of combat they would do anything and everything to milk the slightest of advantages, hair pulling, extra tugs of pain after a rope break, punches to the face, whatever. But with the action ceased Alizeh had no interest in targeting a downed opponent, not this early in the bout. No she would happily allow Wyvern to get back up to her feet before doing anything to the woman, she knew that Wyvern understood it and why, after all the two were on the same wavelength, had been since their first match, and that's all Alizeh needed.
Seeing the woman start to get up and accept Alizeh's offer to another contest of chops only made Alizeh grin widely as a result of the rather morbid response from Wyvern once she had finally made it up to her feet. Rather than take offense to what she said however Alizeh just shrugged with a grin on her face while cracking her neck. "How lovely. I'll insure you have a nice coffin then." Alizeh said right back to the dark haired woman.
Circling each other Alizeh kept her eyes laser focused on Wyvern's, watching for any sign of potential preemptive attack from her. It was possible after all they were warriors, and that meant the possibility for such an attack wasn't there. But no they would just circle their way to the center of the ring where Wyvern would raise her arms her arms up, inviting Alizeh to take the first shot and calling her the loser of their first chop battle in the process. "With pleasure." Alizeh said, not denying the claim at all, in fact accepting it as she raised her arm up, and launched it forward for as hard a chop as possible into Wyvern's chest!

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
"Just make sure Finella doesn't design it. Bitch has no taste in coffins."
There were many different kinds of strength. Fighting all-out, going for the throat, and allowing no form of empathy or restraint was one. The beginning of the match had been a good showing of that, the two wrestlers scrabbling for even the dirtiest advantage if it would give them even the slightest edge over their opponent. With the rope break, and the reinforcement of the rules of the match, the flow had shifted. There were no words exchanged, but both wrestlers could tell the change immediately. This competition was no less fierce; every second Wyvern and Alizeh were in the ring together was a power struggle, visible or not. This was merely a test of a different kind of prowess. Restricting the contest to a level playing field and narrowing the fight to an ordered exchange. There was strength in untethered ferocity, and there was strength in controlled competition. Alizeh, ultimately, had won the previous exchange. Wyvern is determined to see that she wins the second.
Circling back to the center of the ring, Wyvern steels herself for the coming blow. She could absorb the hit and roll with it. That would minimize the damage and pain, keep her in better shape for the rest of the match. But it would lose the competition. This was a show of durability and raw power. There could be strength in bending, rather than breaking, but this was not the time for it. To yield was to admit defeat, and both combatants were too stubborn and proud to do so. One would break. And one would be broken. That was the only way this would end.
WHACK!
As Alizeh drives her straightened hand into Wyvern's chest, a loud noise like the crack of a whip echoes outwards, briefly overpowering even the supportive roaring of the crowd. Wyvern takes the blow head on, locking her body into place to support her chest as much as possible. The skillful chop spreads a wave of pain outwards from the point of impact, and forces Wyvern to take a step back to remain on her feet. She suppresses the urge to rub her chest, instead taking another step back as she spins on her heel. The Irish wrestler walks in a small circle away from Alizeh, nodding calmly to the crowd as if she had move from her spot on purpose and intended only to acknowledge Alizeh's power to the onlookers. When Wyvern's eyes lock with Alizeh's own, however, there is no calmness whatsoever to be seen. Behind her blank expression is pure bloodlust.
Wyvern looks slowly to her left and right, bringing up a single finger to her lips in order to silence the crowd. Although rebellious at first, the audience soon quiets down. Curiosity had overcome disdain in this instance. In the oppressive silence of the arena, Wyvern raises her arm. Unlike Alizeh's horizontal swing, Wyvern prepares a vertical chop, although not the ominous crescent slash that had ended their exchange in the last match. For a moment, her hand hangs there, building anticipation.
THWACK!
Wyvern brings her hand down onto the exposed skin of Alizeh's chest, and the defeaningly loud clap of flesh striking flesh echoes outwards. The chop, unlike most of Wyvern's strikes, is designed to bring about maximum pain and noise rather than any real damage. Alizeh won't feel this hit in her bones, but a direct hit is going to sting something fierce. There is a rustle from the audience as many of its members wince in sympathetic pain. Even Wyvern grabs her hand immediately afterwards and begins working feeling back into it, not immune to the blowback of her own strike. There's no deliberate exclamations from the surroundings, however. Everyone waits with baited breath to see how the Emerald Storm had taken the hit.

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
Vicious was the only way to describe the impact of Alizeh's hand with Wyvern's chest and the sound that echoed off it. The force of which immediately sent the Irish woman stumbling back a bit with a look of pain, likewise also making the crowd at large cringe in pain from the sound of flesh on flesh, for many bringing back unpleasant memories of the last time Wyvern and Alizeh had clashed in such a way in their first match. It made many in the audience think 'Why?' Why would Alizeh challenge Wyvern to a contest that she had lost in previously? Was it pride? Training specifically for this moment again? Or perhaps some sorta secret stratagem? It was hard to say, and if Alizeh would ask, well she'd say it was a mix of all of the above. For now however, she wasn't about to back down from Wyvern as the dark haired woman reared her own arm up for a return chop.
Instinctively Alizeh took a deep breath, relaxing her chest while bracing herself, knowing without a doubt that the moment that hand dropped her chest would be on fire. Sure enough the moment it made impact it was as if a lightning bolt had landed smack dab in the center of the ring and the resounding brutal impact of flesh on flesh left many in the audience turning their heads in both shock and disgust at how painful that sounded, let alone looked. Sure enough Alizeh's light brown chest was now a angry red that would have no doubt looked even more gruesome had she been any paler. Despite how utterly painful it was however Alizeh only released a low hiss of pain from the impact, the look on her face saying far more than her voice could. It hurt like hell, and there was no shame in Alizeh's mind for showing that, but she sure as hell wasn't about to lose to Wyvern right now.
So Alizeh turned from Wyvern, and similar to what the younger woman had done she did a full rotation showing everyone the damage that had been done, wearing it proudly like a badge of honor. Unlike Wyvern however Alizeh didn't stop to raise her arm up and 'charge up' as Wyvern seemed to do. No the two were very similar, but also polar opposites in many ways, and one such way was that while Wyvern liked to be slow and deliberate with her big offense, Alizeh was fast and relentless with her own. Placing her foot down on the mat to turn back around Alizeh would out of nowhere pivot on her heel, twisting her waist and practically putting all her body weight onto one side while swinging her arm around in a perfect horizontal arc, her palm being parallel with the mat the entire trajectory as Alizeh threw the edge of her arm and hand right into Wyvern's chest with virtually all of Alizeh's momentum and weight behind it in what almost looked like a spinning back fist only in the form of a chop aimed right at Wyvern's collarbone verus a fist to the face.
WHACK!
Needless to say it impacted like a blunt blade crashing into the side of a watermelon. Only the question was if Wyvern's chest would burst upon impact or not.

WHACK!

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
To put it simply, Wyvern wasn't ready for that. She allowed herself to relax ever-so-slightly as Alizeh mimicked here earlier rotation to the audience, showing off the redness on her chest like a battle scar. Even if their hands weren't truly blades, the pain was no less for it. Wyvern had once heard of a traditional form of pseudo-duel called Mensur, practiced in Germany and some of its surrounding countries. In Mensur, the participants exchanged strikes from their swords without flinching in ordered turns, as a test of fortitude. And, once upon a time, to collect scars, although this was apparently no longer a major part of the tradition (to Wyvern's derision). This situation reminded Wyvern heavily of that, despite what differences there were. And, as her thoughts briefly wandered while Alizeh turned away, the Emerald Storm struck.
Feeling the oncoming blow more out of instinct than conscious realization, Wyvern hardens up on pure reflex. This is objectively not the correct way to absorb a hit, but it will make the strike more painful for Alizeh, as well. The chop lands straight on Wyvern's collarbone, causing another eruption of pain to flow out from the point of impact. Not having set her feet properly to take the hit, Wyvern is unbalanced by the attack, and the high point of impact ultimately takes her off of her feet entirely as she falls heavily onto the canvas.
"Ggggggggh..."
Audibly seething in pain and aggravation, Wyvern almost immediately kips up to begin her retaliation, but Alizeh has a chance to take action before she does so...

Re: Roaring Into The Storm: Wyvern vs. Alizeh Midori 2
'That one had to hurt.' Alizeh thought to herself with a small grin to herself as she stood up fully while staring down Wyvern who seemed to have not braced herself for that hit as well as before, since without much fanfare Wyvern would soon fall down onto her back. Grinning despite herself Alizeh knew it wouldn't be for long so she didn't bother considering a pin or anything of the sort. Instead she prepared herself for the moment Wyvern would get up onto her feet. Crouching and bracing her hands on her knees Alizeh tensed her legs and back, waiting like a cobra primed to strike, for the moment that Wyvern got back up to her feet before attempting to attack her downed foe.
Luckily waiting would be a forgone conclusion for Alizeh since true to what the green haired girl thought Wyvern was real quick to kip back up to her feet.. Just in time for Alizeh to pivot on her heel and spin around, swinging her leg high up into the air in a high arc, aiming to crash her heel directly into the side of Wyvern's head with a brutal skull kick! "Later loser!" Alizeh said in a surprising bit of trash talk should the move connect successfully, looking to harken back to Wyvern's own diss towards Alizeh for losing their previous chop battle before aiming to send Wyvern right back down to the mat!
