*While she was personally amused by the futile attempts that Mayori made by trying to escape her wrath, it appeared as though Zetta had delved too deeply into her own sense of security- Her adversary wasn't capable of stopping her undeniable presence as the uncontested superior between the two of them. However, it wouldn't be long until the feisty female proved her worth by reversing The Phoenix Queen's subsequent stomp, causing the diminutive force to smack against the ground, face first!*

"Hhnnkk!" *She reeled from the painful impact, gnashing her teeth together to try and mitigate the pain being applied to her vulnerable ankle bone. Attempting to alleviate the persisting anguish Mayori continued to apply, all the while Zetta couldn't believe that she had allowed such a swing of momentum to occur. However, she was admittedly impressed at how her opponent used her own hubris against her to claim the reins of their little encounter.*

"N..not..bad.." *She murmured, struggling to crawl towards the lowest hanging rope to try and break the malicious hold on her foot, knowing that her threshold for discomfort was embarrassingly low. Feeling herself beginning to close the chasm of distance between herself and the rope, she would attempt to lurch forward, only to fall short of her target by mere inches, remaining firmly locked within Mayori's clutches!*

Mayori even surprised herself with this turn.

Her match rival was toppled and now the one reaching for the ropes. Zetta’s red and yellow outfit burned the canvas as Mayori held on while she was on one knee. The contrast of colors between the mat and Zetta’s gear made it look like a flame was traversing the material.

It was also intimidating for Mayori, even when the tide of the match turned. Her forearms tightened around Zetta’s ankle, a fearful feeling told her that a transition hold or chain ground wrestling with Zetta would be foolish.

What now?! She’s going to kill me if I cannot keep this up. Think! I’m trying!

The panicked internal conversation was not productive. She needed to at least get back to a vertical base so that she could widen her stance. She would have to do this if she was going to keep this hold. She slowly went from one knee to a crouch, angling her bottom behind her. Her briefs curled up her hips as she did so. Her midnight-shaded ponytail drooped over her left shoulder. She didn’t feel relieved when she completed the straightening of her body. Zetta commented on the hold and it was more nerve wracking for Mayori.

Was she keeping Zetta from the ropes with enough fervor? For now, it appeared so. The realization just made Mayori that much more tense. To the referee and the crowd’s eyes, every muscle under Mayori’s two piece was engaged in the lock - from the subscapularis to her gluteals.

Just hold on...please!

*Her teeth gnashing against one another like a wooden crank grinding its gears, Zetta began to formulate a viable strategy to try and turn the tides of her dismal situation. She had realized that stretching towards the ropes was a futile ordeal, but perhaps she needed to shift her attention towards a more offensive approach.*

"N..not..yet.." *Her soft spoken yet firm cadence resonated deep within her core, and with a focused pocket of energy, exerted her opposite foot high into to air to crack Mayori's mandible for a donkey kick to her jaw!*

"THWACK!" *Went the sole of her immaculate foot, slamming against the base of her adversaries chin. Zetta thought very briefly upon what she would do next, but the quicker she released herself from this unorthodox captivity, the sooner she could ruminate on future plans!*

The shock of the mule kick forcefully closing her mouth and echoing throughout her skull was a world-dimmer for Mayori.

One moment she was hearing the crowd noise over Zetta’s voice, and then a half second of silence that felt like a solid minute’s worth. Mayori fell backward with her head cocked and landed spread eagle. An indeterminate amount of time passed for her before she managed to cover up with both of her hands.

Even letting out a moan caused her pain. The slightest agitation to her lower jaw inflamed the nerves in her face with agony.

The hold she lost seemed like another match ago with this level of discombobulation. Zetta would see the wreckage of a jolted wrestler upon regaining the height advantage.

*Now that the hard part was past her, Zetta desperately needed to reestablish herself as the dominant entity in this scuffle. However, Mayori had managed to do extensive damage to her now aching foot. Carefully, the crippled Phoenix hobbled back to her feet, quietly enduring the lingering anguish that crawled up her ankle.*

*Fortuitously enough, it appeared as though her foe had been immobilized by her furious footwork, allowing the taciturn Asian to limp towards her before concocting up a plan of attack.*

*Without muttering a solitary word, Zetta swiftly dropped her opposite knee into Mayori's stomach, her threshold for tolerating pain beginning to wear thin as just the motion alone caused yet another flare up!*

Mayori wasn’t protecting her abdomen and pays for it.

The pained grunt she lets out also hurts her jaw to utter it. “Hughhhohh!”

She puts her left arm over her abs and her right hand over her mouth, both of them sites of tremendous discomfort. She does a complete logroll on her side away from Zetta and is within five feet of the nearest bottom rope, near a neutral corner. The silver lining to the situation was that her fear-driven anklelock managed to slow the infernal attack from Zetta.

Mayori needed to regroup, and a roll to the outside of the ring could allow her reacquaint with the difference between up and down after that kick. She made a move to roll twice more towards the ropes.

*In absolutely no position to pursue her victim, Zetta merely bounced herself towards a sturdy pillar to try and recuperate a vestige of energy that Mayori had stolen from her earlier. However, it appeared as though her adversary had the same strategy brewing, as she hastily exited the arena to try and replete her fleeting vigor. Cocking her head sideways to catch a glimpse of Mayori, Zetta would allow a smirk to quietly inhabit her face- She had managed to strike fear in the heart of her opposition, and she wasn't even close to being done.*

"...Coward." *She mumbled to herself, still trying to walk off the languishing sting that kept her from walking on both feet. Besides that annoying inconvenience, she was pumped and primed to inflict some catastrophic damage, even going so far as to gesture for Mayori to make her return to the ring by outstretching a solitary hand and pointing towards the center of the platform she was standing in before waving her hand inwards, coaxing a sonorous cheer from the audience in the process!*

Mayori's soft red boots made contact with the arena floor first.

Her footing was sure, but her balance was not. Resting her face on her forearms and leaning on the apron, she tried to keep from sinking down to her knees. Getting out of the ring for a breather was not what this was. Rather, it was to assess her own level of consciousness after that mule kick.

Could she feel her lower jaw aching? Without a doubt. Was there a new blind spot in her vision? Not that she could tell, but it hurt to use her facial muscles to even wince. Was there a sense of nausea or any other sign of a concussion? She had no idea what the other signs were, but nausea was not present.

The referee came over to the side of the ring and started to shout a count over Mayori and she slightly raised her head to look up at him. Just past him was a waiting Zetta, taunting at her. Mayori didn't know if she had inflicted any damage to the beckoning wrestler, she had missed any limping or favoring of the ankle she thought that she could apply an effective hold on. She chose to wait to the count of FIVE! before she tried to walk toward the ring steps. Zetta didn't need another opportunity to keep her grounded if she opted to roll under the bottom rope.

The LAW fans over Mayori's shoulder got a look at the shaken wrestler as she passed by. The front row was treated to the sight of a slight wobble in her gait, which made her gluteal muscles under her briefs a bit more pronounced with each step.

*While Zetta preferred to keep the taunting at a minimum during televised matches, she couldn't help but wonder why someone of Mayori's talent was deliberately attempting to avoid her. Perhaps she wasn't as deft as she had originally anticipated, but surely her foe had something up her sleeve for situations of this magnitude, and that slight paranoia kept the Phoenix Queen anxious and vigilant of what Mayori might be contemplating. However, her superfluous taunting did manage to coax out an amusing response from the surrounding audience.*

"Get back in there! Get back in there!" *Almost as if they were supporting the rookie's efforts to make a stand against the veteran between the ropes, Zetta shot a stern leer towards the tentative girl, allowing her ample space to enter through the bottom cord. While giving her an unflinching, baleful gaze she noticed something...peculiar- Mayori's cheeks seemed to have been accentuated due to her odd stride, causing Zetta to become flushed with both intrigue and allure.*

"Hmm...~" *She quietly hummed to herself, becoming a little more than slightly distracted by such an enamoring sight. While still clinging to a brazen stranglehold over her opponent, Zetta wasn't above gawking at something so rotund and captivating, her stance turning to face the woman as she reentered the ring.*

"Are..you okay?" *Zetta managed to conjure up an entire sentence, or at the very least, a fragment of concern towards the injured competitor. As much as she'd like to emerge victorious in this encounter, if she earned even a scrap of it through dishonest means, she would instantly consider it a loss of the highest extent.*

Mayori made it back into the ring and the referee stopped at SEVEN!

She heard the crowd chanting but it wasn’t the sound of her name. Common language eluded her, but she was glad that it wasn’t garbled in her ears due to a concussion.

Mayori made eye contact with Zetta and adjusted her bottoms before leaving the safeof the ropes. She was glad to have the entry back into the ring cleared by a willing opponent. In the midst of severe jaw pain, there was at least that.

Zetta asked her something and the word “okay” was pretty much globally understood. Mayori kept rubbing and cupping her chin, but nodded toward Zetta. Her gait was still staggered and off balance. She may have nodded, but Mayori was shaken up.

She raised her hands to about chest height in a grappling stance, signaling a resuming of the contest. She bit her lip with pain and started to circle with Zetta.

Heavens, help...Have to keep standing.
