Hikaru vs. Layla

Hikaru was moaning in agony as Layla went for the cover. She struggled and kicked as the pin count started and continued! With a loud scream she bucked her hips up and managed to kick her way out at 2.9 just shy of being kept down for 3!

For an split-second, Layla thought she'd done it. The referee looked so close to counting the three that she was sure the match was over. But then, at the last instant, Hikaru seemed to find some hidden reserve of energy and buck herself out of the pin, only just getting up off the mat in time.

Layla's face crumpled with annoyance as she eased up off of her opponent, surprised that Hikaru still had it in her to kick out. Shaking her head grimly, she leaned down, taking Hikaru's head in both hands.

"You sure you want to do that?" she murmured, before easing Hikaru back to her feet. Not expecting much resistance from her dazed opponent, Layla once again took hold of Hikaru's arm and lashed her towards the far turnbuckle, hopefully with enough force to get her adversary to bounce off!

Hikaru was in a daze as she was hauled up and sent flying across the ring! She smashed into the turnbuckle and moaned as she smashed against it, falling back and crumpling into a heap on the mat. Her chest heaved as she struggled to draw breath, Hikaru only managing to move as she rolled onto her side as she was clearly in a lot of pain at this point! She wanted to get up and fight back but her body wasn't cooperating at this point in time leaving her wide open again!

Layla took no pleasure in it, but she did have a measure of satisfaction as Hikaru once again went smashing into the turnbuckle before crumpling in a heap on the canvas yet again. The match was as good as over, Hikaru just hadn't come to terms with it yet.

So, Layla reasoned she would help the other wrestler on her way. Darting over she would haul Hikaru to her feet, leaving her dazed adversary standing.

"Sorry in advance, girl," Layla offered quietly, before sprinting away from Hikaru and bouncing off the far ropes. As she hurtled back towards her, Layla would lower her body and hurl herself forward into her devastating finisher, the Spitting Cobra spear tackle!

Hikaru wanted to take the fight back to Layla but that just wasn't in the cards as the stunned Hikaru was left wide open for Layla as she speared her mercilessly into the ground! Hikaru let out a shrill scream and looked to be in agony after, wheezing as the wind was knocked out of her painfully. She was laid out and writhing underneath Layla, hammered by the attack and left in such a state that she looked unable to fight back at all!

Layla delivered her finisher and it had the exact desired effect as she smashed Hikaru into the canvas, driving the last vestiges of resistance out of her opponent as she did so.

Hikaru's screech of pain told her that this ought to be the end, and she quickly shuffled into position, hooking one of Hikaru's legs up and laying her body across the yellow-clad wrestler's torso. This time for sure!

"Count it!" she barked at the referee impatiently, not wanting to waste any more time to give Hikaru any chance of recovery. The ref fell into position and started the count.

"THREE!"

Hikaru groaned as she was defeated embarassingly quickly as she wasn't able to kick out of the spear. Hikaru would roll over onto her stomach and bury her face in shame after Layla did get up, listening to her opponents music while imagining her strutting about the ring in triumph. Hikaru had thought she was over her bad start but after a few wins in a row she was now finding herself compiling another losing streak once more. Hikaru would just have to try harder next time, and learn to take hits better. There was a big list of things she could do better at this point as she laid there hiding her face.

A rush of elation filled Layla as the third and final count echoed through the ring, closely followed by a roar from the crowds. She sprang upright, pumping her fists in the air with a triumphant whoop. She took a moment to turn on the spot, showing herself to the fans and bathing in her victory, before she cast a glance down at Hikaru. The other wrestler lay hiding her face, a groaning defeated mess after the match.

Layla sighed heavily and leaned down, touching her on the shoulder gently.

"You okay?" she said quietly. She attempted to hook a hand under Hikaru's arm and pull her to her feet. "Losses happen - c'mon, game face on, girl," she encouraged, not really enjoying the obvious distress Hikaru was feeling.

Hikaru heard Layla speaking to her and she looked up as she began to hobble her way up to her feet. "Yeah, I will be all right and thanks." Hikaru said giving Layla a nod. "You did well and just kept at it, overwhelming me. You won fairly so I have to commend you for that. Congrats." Hikaru said matter of factly as she had indeed been overrun in this match as Layla hammered her fast and kept her down. She gave Layla a nod and climbed through the ropes to make her way to the back. Hikaru was back to the drawing board and left to prepare for her next match, one she hoped to be victorious in.
