Re: A Heroine Caught in a Blizzarding Storm: Astra Nova vs Ivy Aster

As Ivy sunk in a devastating Boston Crab, she had some time to think about the logistics of this match. She was undoubtedly capable of running up the score at will. She could put a number that would be capped only by the time limit, or perhaps ref interference if this got too out of hand. Which subsequently lead Ivy to her primary concern; despite how she had spoken through the match so far, she did not wish to leave Astra living in a body cast and drinking out of a straw for the next six months. Ivy had to slow down the massacre and carry Astra a bit. Her first step would be to switch from her standard Boston Crab to a bridged variation. One of her signature moves: No Escape!

One would be reasonable to question how Ivy switching her hold from one of the most basic submissions in wrestling to her signature variant of it would be an act of mercy. A bridging Boston Crab is actually less painful and damaging than the standard variation. The reason it qualified as a signature move was in the name. My interposing herself between her opponent's front and the ropes, it removed the victim's option to crawl to the ropes for a break. Turning into a submission that broke wills through attrition, rather than breaking bodies through immense damage.

Ivy knew full well that Astra was never escaping the regular Boston Crab, thus making the variant nothing but an easier time for the heroine to endure. That said, Ivy had absolutely no clue that the primary sensation Astra had been feeling in the original Boston Crab was the feeling of the Brit's curves, so there was not telling how Astra would respond to Ivy removing that contact.

Ivy was putting on a display of pure dominance. Even with the beating that Astra's body was taking as a consequence though, it didn't come without its a little bit softer sides as well... While Ivy's body was proving dangerously superior to Astra's own, at least so far, the blonde couldn't deny that her strong and curvy form still held a lot of... Appeal. And getting into close contact with it - even if being on the receiving end - inevitably held some level of intrigue.

Unfortunately for the heroine though, Ivy decided to switch up her position. And as the closer body contact disappeared, what was left more clearly was simply the numbing pain. Only thing the back of her head felt now was the still throbbing pain, and the effects of the Boston Crab on her legs also became all the nastier. This was no fun!

As Ivy shifted the hold into one of her signature moves, at first, the overwhelming pain was filling the blonde heroine's mind. And logically, her brain started immediately seeking for escape. As a consequence, her lips had already started forming the words "I... I s-... I sub-...", accompanied by a couple of frustrated slaps against the mat... But curiously, her brain didn't follow that plan through. Slowly, it was realizing that, in fact, this current hold was actually far from the worst that she had been put in to... Was it really worth submitting for?

What were Astra's options though? There seemed to be almost none. She could clearly tell that she wasn't going to reach the ropes... She wasn't going to find an escape out of the Snow Rose's hold... And she certainly wasn't going to find an attack of her own to unleash. That, in turn, evoked some irritation inside the trapped heroine, as she was indeed finding No Escape... And could even see her adversary's face hanging pretty close to her own in front of her!

That's when a spike of anger ran its course through her veins. And also, elicited an uncharacteristically rude exclamation too.

"You're a bitch!"

Ivy would admit to being surprised when Astra responded to her signature move by nearly submitting. Possibly as if the heroine just assumed that the signature move would be worse before suddenly realizing that she was in less pain than she had been in before. Still, Astra had another surprise in store for Ivy by the second reaction she had after the near submission. Though Ivy kept her cool through responding, "Perhaps. Do you intend to do anything about it though? Aside from submit, that is." Ivy made no effort to alter her hold, simply maintaining her bridged Boston Crab until Astra gave a reason for Ivy to change.

It wasn't as if Astra would have been holding back with taking falls in this match so far, and she had nearly been taking yet another one... But her brain finally managed to tell her that despite the show-off nature of Ivy's own style of Boston Crab, it wasn't really all that painful, or worth submitting to! The realization was in fact one part that irritated the blonde even further, resulting in those very unheroic comments she then issued in the purplette's direction... Although she wasn't really feeling like regretting those words - at least in this moment!

What the Interstellar Heroine decided to do next though was something that she might had felt a bit more embarrassed of, when reviewing the match later... Although, she was still going to place the blame for all that on Ivy's shoulders, as the Snow Rose had clearly forced her into an impasse! She couldn't advance towards the ropes, she couldn't fight her leg free... And she had already decided not to submit. So, to answer the question that the Brit decided to pose... The blonde still had her hand free, and could sink her fingers deep into her opponent's purple hair, and pull it as painfully as she could in hopes that it would get the bigger girl to free her!

Not her proudest move, but hey, this had not been her proudest match so far either...

For as inescapable as Ivy touted her bridging Boston Crab to be, there was, at least seemingly, a very glaring flaw. Ivy's long purple hair hung down like a curtain in front of Astra's face, right next to her hands. But once Astra tried it, she would discover that trying to pull down while being flat on her stomach was tougher than you might think.

Astra, with her arm already to the mat, had nowhere to pull. There simply wasn't enough room to yank Ivy down far enough to throw her off. And while it certainly wasn't comfortable, having her hair pulled, even a wrestler with durability issues like Ivy wasn't going to be ruined by it. Now Astra could also try pulling back towards her own body, which would pull Ivy back. But Astra's trapped leg would also get wrenched further back along with it. A worse trade for the heroine, than for the heel. "Are you quite done," Ivy would say, still annoyed at the tactic. "This could be much worse for you, you know. Do you simply wish to be broken?"
