Another day, another shot at victory, or so it seemed. Raya sat backstage, her mood sunken. Attempt after attempt at a win here at law had all resulted in humiliating failure, the image of her taking the world by storm as she had dreamt it inside her mind had not come to fruition, but the complete opposite of it had. It had been a series of horribly humbling events, from total mismatches to near victories for Raya only for her to lose it at the last second as a result of lack of focus, arrogance, or just plain inexperience.

But today offered yet another chance at that ever evasive victory, one that seemed to slip away little by little. She could view today as another potential defeat, but she chose to view it as another chance. She could utilize the little she’d learned from her previous matches to help her.

Raya had heard of Tara Jaeger and had seen glimpses of her, but she hadn’t fully studied her, either. The correct thing to do was to look up her previous matches to try and gain an advantage, look at her style and determine what her weaknesses could be, but Raya did none of that. Her style of going in all guns blazing, determined to impose her own game rather than play to her opponents and react to them had so far failed to impress anyone, but still she stuck with it as a matter of personal pride, she would go down with the ship if she had to, rather than abandon it.

When the time came, Raya once again entered the arena and barely gave a glance to the crowd before heading towards the ring, the time for thinking was over, now it was time for her to prove her will by her actions, these proceeding minutes would prove to be crucial for her future at law whether it would end in victory or defeat.

She entered the ring and listened to the announcers call out her name, and waited for her opponent to come out and show herself.

Tara practically glowered into the mirror as she prepared herself for her next bout. A relative rookie to LAW known as Raya Ashberry. Honestly Tara didn't know much about the girl other than she was new and even that didn't mean much to her. No all that mattered to her tonight was that she went out there and WON. T

hings hadn't been going well for Abdominion lately, especially Tara and a win was exactly what they needed to put some wind in their sails towards positive momentum and nothing, especially some rookie would get in her way of that. So after doing one last check of her gear Tara would turn and head through the hall way to the entrance ramp as her music began to play across the arena's speakers.

Stepping out from behind the curtain Tara would be met with boos by the fans not that it mattred to her as she posed all the same, as if inviting them all to boo even more at her for all she cared. Giving a quick wave of her hips Tara showed off her most impressive feature in this attire, this being her sculpted abs as she began to make her way down the ramp to the ring.

Once there Tara would hop onto the ring apron, looking out over the crowd with a apathetic glare before lifting her leg up and slipping through the ropes and into the ring proper. Once there she would turn and look at her foe for the first time, giving her a once over before turning her nose up and walking to her corner, leaning forward against it with her back turned to Raya, a deliberate sign of disrespect to the rookie as Tara waited for the bell to ring before turning around.

Raya watched as Tara entered the ring, her gaze fixed on the woman’s impressive abs although she quickly looked away so as to not give off the impression that she was impressed by her opponent’s physique. But if there was a hint of admiration, it quickly faded as her opponent would deliberately turn her nose up and turn her back which Raya took as the sign of disrespect that it was.

Usually, it wasn’t a good idea to talk trash at someone when you’re a newbie who had nothing but losses at the company, but the fact that Raya’s start at law had been disappointing and miserable didn’t seem to discourage her from getting riled up and trying to do the same to the woman standing before her.

“Hey, hasn’t anyone told you it’s not a good idea to disrespect the person that’s gonna soon kick your ass?” She’d cockily call out with a small bit of anger in her voice to Tara who still had her back turned, then she’d prepare herself for the bell to ring.

When the match would finally start, she’d take a page out of her previous opponent’s book and put her arms up, inviting Tara to a test of strength in a collar and elbow tie up to start things off.

Hearing the attempt at insulting her Tara would smirk while still having her back turned, knowing that off the bat at least she was making some early progress in getting under the girl's nerves. Good, it would make things all the easier as things went on. After a moment or two the dark skinned beauty would turn around and stare Raya down while putting her hands up in a grappling stance, still not having responded to her taunt.

"I should be the one saying that to you." Tara shot towards the woman as the bell rang, officially starting the match and seeing what her opponent was doing Tara would move in, meeting Raya with the lock up. However Tara would aim to try and move her hands past Raya's own to grab at the back of her neck in a muay thai clinch which, if successful Tara would then swing her legs up to try and drive her knees into Raya's stomach with some repeated knee strikes!

“Sh-shut up!” Raya said in a flustered manner in response to Tara’s words, but quickly composed herself the moment the match started.

Raya felt Tara grab her neck, but as she focused on her opponent’s arms, she felt a powerful knee being driven into her stomach repeatedly!

“Urghh!” She grunted in pain and nearly doubled over, but she didn’t want to show a moment of weakness right off the bat, so instead she’d smirk and taunt Tara again, trying to make her opponent think that her strikes had done no damage, although that wasn’t the case in reality.

“H-heh…is that…all you got?” Raya would mutter before moving in an attempt to wrap her arms around Tara’s waist to try and lift her up and slam her down on her back on the mat!

Tara smirked as she managed to get her arms around Raya's neck and began bombarding the woman's midsection with a brutal knee strike followed by another and another! Yet despite this Tara only saw a grin on her opponent's face before the girl challenged her in a mocking tone if it was all she had. "Ngh... what did you say you little br-Whoaaa!" Tara cried out as on the wind up of her next knee strike she was caught and then pulled through the air by Raya and slammed into the mat! "GAH!" Tara cried out in pain, rolling away from her foe while holding her back with a wince of pain.

"Where are you going? I'm not done with you yet!" Raya taunted smugly as she watched Tara roll away in pain after she had managed to successfully slam her down on her back, but she was far from done, as she started to make her way towards Tara once again.

She'd move to stand over Tara then roll her completely onto her back, before jumping onto her and attempting a knee drop onto her gut to pay her back for those earlier knee strikes her opponent had gotten in! And if it connected, Raya would then take advantage to quickly hook Tara's leg and transition into a pin attempt, hoping the drop would have done enough damage to keep Tara down for these few moments!

Kicking her leg against the mat in pain Tara would groan, gritting her teeth as a result of the slam, trying to regain her composure and roll over to try and push herself back up... Only to get blindsided by Raya and forced onto her back before the woman then dropped down knees first onto Tara's stomach!

"Ugh!" Tara groaned out as a result of the drop before huffing as her leg was then grabbed and she was pinned by her opponent for a early pin fall attempt! Gritting her teeth Tara would then growl as she shoved her leg forward and twisted her body to the side to kick out of the pin fall at one!

Raya grimaced as she watched Tara kick out easily after just one count, she'd stand back up on her feet and back away, waiting for Tara to start getting back up. The moment her opponent stood back up, she'd rush in at her with her shoulder dropped and would try to slam it straight into her gut with a spear, still trying to focus solely on breaking her stomach, she hoped that the combination of the knee drop and now the spear, if it connected, would get the woman to stay down to give Raya an early win, although she didn't fully expect that to happen as it would be too easy of a match compared to her earlier losses, so she still had doubts in the back of her mind which would make her hesitate slightly once she'd launch herself towards Tara, giving the other woman a crucial moment to work with.

Groaning softly after managing to kick out of the pin fall attempt the dark skinned beauty would try and turn over before getting up, looking around and being sure to try and get a bead on her opponent, determined to not let the rookie keep making a fool of her. 'Damn she hits hard I got to admit...' Tara thought to herself, finally managing to stand and watching as Raya seemed to hesitate before charging forward, immediately causing Tara to tense, recognizing what the red head was doing right away. Staying still for a moment and waiting for Raya to fully commit to her charge at her Tara would then jump up, lifting her leg and aiming to drive her knee square into Raya's jaw as she charged in! "Nice try!" Tara would snap if the blow was successful with its connection to her opponent!
