Astrid Ostberg vs. Drasna Selinofoto

Drasna had scored a blow on Astrid early on, but the Norwegian wasn't going to let that keep her down. In fact, she was going to throw herself right back into the fray when she threw a kick upward into her opponent's midsection, causing her to double over forward! Astrid needed to show the world that she was a capable threat, no matter what she was being put through. Even from the ground, she could bring the fight to Drasna - and in fact, when her kick sent the veteran stumbling backward, Astrid was eager to seize on the opportunity when she grabbed her by the head and threw her back down with a DDT!

The canvas rumbled under the impact of Drasna's head, and the stands broke out into cheers at the sight of such a well-performed counter from Astrid. But she wasn't done there. Now that Drasna was down, Astrid would swerve behind her, grabbing her arm from behind and cranking it behind her back as she went to pull her into a hammerlock! Now that she had Drasna where she wanted her, she could focus on wearing down at her stamina!

Drasna grunted softly in pain as she held her skull following the impact of that ddt from Astrid. Not good. Both of the two women were similar in terms of skills and strength, leaving Drasna in quite the vulnerable position at the moment. As such Astrid would grab hold of Drasna's arm, pulling up and twisting it behind her back, torquing it in quite the painful manner!

"Ngh!" Drasna grunted out in pain, gritting her teeth and pushing her arm against the mat, trying to lift herself up a bit and gain a bit of breathing room before pivoting on her hips and twisting around to undo the hold on her arm while getting her knees under her before swinging her arm around to drive a punch right into the woman's gut to try and force her into let go while pushing her back in the process!

So far, Astrid and Drasna seemed quite evenly matched, putting one another on their toes through every second of the match. That brought some reassurance to the Norsewoman - if she could keep up with such an esteemed veteran of the ring, maybe she really did still have a future. However, this match was still on - and now that she had Drasna down, she needed to push the advantage, twisting her arm behind her back to put some strain on her joints!

True to form, though, Drasna would prove she was quite capable of fighting through the pain. Astrid kept holding on, twisting harder at her arm and keeping it pinned in place even as Drasna got her feet under her and forced her way back upright. She clenched her teeth and hissed, trying to maintain her concentration as long as she could, but ultimately, Drasna managed to swing her arm behind her, landing it against Astrid's midsection with the sound of a thump. Letting out a groan as her brow furrowed, Astrid was forced to release Drasna's arm and step back, doubled over at the waist, putting more space in between the two.

That didn't mean Astrid was done just yet, though - she was still going to bring the fight to her foe! She panted for breath, lifting herself higher. As soon as Drasna came into range, Astrid would bellow out a battle cry and swing an elbow straight toward her head, looking to prove that she still had it in her!

Astrid was certainly showing off some solid technical skills in their bout so far and honestly Drasna felt comfortable saying that in that regard the younger woman was probably a bit better than Drasna. However she was no slouch herself, and she was quite strong as well, maybe even more so then Astrid, which is why Drasna's plan to escape involved her forcing herself to her feet before slamming a blow right into Astrid's stomach to make her go!

Smiling as this worked Drasna would stand back up right and roll her neck while watching her opponent stumble back for a moment before coming right at the older woman with a elbow! Smirking at this Drasna would dart her head to the side suddenly to let the elbow slip past her while bringing her hand up to grasp Astrid's neck! If it worked then the older woman grunt and lift Astrid into the air before bringing her down for a sudden back breaker on Drasna's waiting knee!

Drasna had landed a blow against Astrid with no small amount of force, leaving the Norsewoman sputtering and gasping as she stumbled back away from her foe. But Astrid certainly wasn't about to stay down for long. Only a moment later she threw herself right back into the fray - her elbow whipping in an arc though the air, poised for Drasna's temples! If Drasna was going to hit her, Astrid was just going to make sure the retaliating blow hit just as hard!

But Drasna was ready for her - even as Astrid came storming closer, she was already preparing a counter-attack. Just then, she slipped out of the way, dodging the path of Astrid's strike! The Norsewoman's elbow would only come to rest in midair; her eyes went wide and her teeth clenched in frustration when she saw how Drasna had interrupted her momentum. But Drasna wasn't about to stop things there, either.

The next thing Astrid knew, Drasna swooped in to take advantage of the momentary distraction, grabbing Astrid by the throat! Gasping out a choked groan, the blonde could only watch as she was hoisted higher into the air - and then, Drasna hurled her straight downward, her back meeting Drasna's knee with a loud thud! A surge of pain erupted through her body. Astrid's face contorted in a grimace, her eyes squeezed shut and her teeth locked in a snarl. She slumped lower, falling to her knees against the mat as she rubbed at her aching spine.

This shouldn't have been happening, Astrid told herself. She was supposed to be better than this. Why was she letting herself fall for Drasna's tricks now?

Bringing Astrid crashing down upon her knee with a massive back breaker Drasna would watch as the blonde fell onto her knees clutching her spine in pain clearly struggling not only with the pain but something in her thoughts as well. Shaking her head Drasna would lean down, grabbing a tight hand full of Astrid's hair, tugging harshly to turn her body towards Drasna's direction only letting go once she'd shove the blonde's head between her legs. If uninterrupted then Drasna would grab hold of Astrid's hips before hefting her upwards, through the air until the Norse woman was on her shoulders before bringing her down for a massive power bomb! If the move landed flush then Drasna would pick Astrid up slightly before lifting her legs up, hooking them over Astrid's own, pulling them further out to the side, seeking to transition from the wake of a power bomb into a shame hold!
