Jessie Alexander and Matilda Jacobs vs. Kanon Fujiwara and Roxanne Wolf

Matilda and Jessie successfully clobbered Roxanne in the head and effectively took her out of the equation—hopefully long enough so they could at least deal with Kanon. It was clear that this was the toughest match of either Lioness’s careers and they had to try and survive with these maniacs for the duration of it. Kanon would slowly rise and relieve herself of her foam prison walking around the ring to the girls as Matilda held her chair at the ready while Jessie shook in her clothes. Kanon even spoke saying both girls were no different then mindless brutes always resorting to violence and offered herself as a free shot for them to demonstrate.

Matilda wasn’t moved in any manner as her uncle always did hardcore wrestling on the indies and taught his niece that sometimes, some skulls have to be cracked to prove your point. However, Jessie was stunned into silence as she looked at the chair in her hands. Jessie understood this was much more about survival than winning a match, but she never had that label slapped on her person. She was a genius when it came to machinery and always the shy one, but just a few seconds ago, she was powerless when she was under the ring with Kanon and now, Kanon was calling her out on her sudden aggressive behavior. The back and forth tolling of the mind was working on Jessie especially when Kanon pleaded her case about letting the darkness come through. Kanon had touched a nerve for sure. Jessie slammed the chair down and shook her hands and looked at them cursing herself mentally for letting these freaks get to her head. Matilda glared daggers at Kanon and readied her chair.

“Leave her alone, you goth freak show!” Matilda exclaimed as she tried for a headshot with her chair!

Even before she had thrown a single blow, Kanon had a weapon on her side - fear. Her presence alone had left the Young Lionesses stunned into submission. She had called on them to do their worst, inviting them to give in to their worst inhibitions and embrace their aggression. It was all a part of her scheme to corrupt them; to goad them into proving themselves worthy of the Anomaly's attention. But even if they wouldn't take the bait, it made no difference to Kanon nonetheless. That still meant they were hopeless, defenseless, and wide open. Exactly the way she wanted them.

"One! Two!" After a pause, the referee started counting again, but Kanon paid that no heed. She took one step forward, slowly drawing closer and closer to the opposing team. Her gaze flit between the two of them, watching every muscle they moved and every look that crossed their eyes, and it only made the corners of her lips creep up into a smile to know that she had the two Young Lionesses fully in her grasp...

At least, that seemed to be the case at first. While Jessie gave in to the pressure, seeing her drop the chair was all that Matilda needed to drive her into making her move! She came charging straight toward the albino, and her chair whipped around, clocking Kanon upside the head with a loud clang! Kanon spun around in place, borne by that same momentum. Doubling backward, she went staggering into the barricade; as she struck the side of it, she fell forward, draped over the top rail.

"Three!"

For a moment, Kanon lay right where she'd fallen, hanging halfway over the edge. She panted and groaned, hunched over the barricade. The fans looked on in silence, wondering if Matilda had finally managed to strike a blow against the Selection - if the tables were about to turn! But in reality, Kanon was hoping her opponent would take the bait. If Matilda came closer to inspect where Kanon had fallen, she would suddenly turn around, and blow a torrent of black mist from her mouth, right into Matilda's eyes!

Matilda had enough of Kanon’s mind games and hurting Jessie mentally was about to be the final straw. Jessie never had good confidence and she would usually get bullied in high school which caused either Sarabeth or Matilda to step in to defend her honor. It was no different now. Matilda saw Kanon and Roxanne no different those same punks that bullied Jessie ruthlessly in high school and she wasn’t going to back down for her friend! Matilda came forward swinging her chair upright and bashed Kanon hard on the head.

Kanon dazingly spun around and stumbled like she was a drunk person. She stumbled back almost willingly throwing herself over the guardrail as her feet dangled a little bit. The crowd hung into silence as they wondered if Kanon was truly dazed and damaged or if this was another mind trick. Matilda went closer holding her chair ready and it had a pretty decent dent in it already. Matilda edged closer trying to see over Kanon’s body before Kanon shot right back shooting black mist right to Matilda’s face! Matilda screamed dropping her chair and dropping down on her knees trying to clean her eyes. The wiping of her eyes didn’t help as Jessie gasped and went to take care of Kanon.

Jessie simply dumped Kanon’s body into the crowd and separated the metal hooks linking rails together. She took one rail and pushed it over on top of Kanon’s prone body. If she could at least separate Kanon from the match, Matilda and her wouldn’t be at the mercy of Roxanne when she comes to. However, Jessie would be all alone facing Roxanne so she tried stealing a water bottle from a ring worker to help splash water into her friend’s eyes.

Some fans wanted to be hopeful. They had just seen Kanon Fujiwara, one of the frontwomen of the Selection and one who had established herself as a true force to be reckoned with in the ring, take a chair to the head, and it had sent her reeling. As she staggered back, her body twirled in an arc, and she teetered from one side to the other, her whole balance threatening to give out. Perhaps this meant she wasn't really invincible after all. Perhaps Jessie and Matilda had finally begun to fight back - and perhaps it was working! There was still a chance that this could all be turned around!

But even if she was dazed and woozy from the blow to the head, Kanon was by no means out. She wavered from side to side as she picked herself up from the barricade - but when she looked back at Matilda, she could still see her right in her sights. And that was all she needed to spit a cloud of black mist into the puppeteer's eyes, taking her down!

Matilda wasn't alone in this, though. She still had Jessie to back her up. And when Kanon was still folded over the barricade, she couldn't right herself in time to stop the blonde from coming in behind her, pushing her off the edge! There, Kanon flopped to her back, lying flat on the ground. And in a moment of ingenuity, Jessie was able to take the barricade apart enough to drop a rail down on top of Kanon, pinning her down!

The albino winced as the rail pressed down on her from above, but it wouldn't stop her for long. She looked up at Jessie with a flat stare. "So, you aren't so defenseless after all..." she began. "Yes, I knew you had it in you. We all do. That desperation, that aggression, that drive. Let it out. Let it out...don't you want to?"

"Four! Five! Six! Seven!"

The whole time through, Kanon was buying time for Roxanne to recover. Taking such a resounding blow to the head was going to slow her down, for sure...but not stop her entirely. Slowly, she began to push herself back up, rising to her knees. She rubbed at her head, buckling from the pain that surged through her system as it rose to the forefront of her mind again. But when she looked back at Jessie and Matilda, her teeth gnashed together, and her fists trembled. They couldn't escape from her for long. And the Selection would give her the strength she needed to strike back!

Grabbing onto the ropes, Roxanne pulled herself slowly up to her feet. Her knees buckled and trembled beneath her, but she dug her heels into the mat nonetheless. She climbed out onto the apron, getting the referee to reset the count. But far more of concern to her was Jessie. While the blonde was trying to clean the mist out of Matilda's eyes, Roxanne came storming up behind her, every footfall coming down in a stomp. If she could get behind her, her fingers would latch onto Jessie's throat - and she would attempt to yank her up into the air!

"You won't forget me," she growled, her words coming out in a whisper hissed through clenched teeth, right into Jessie's ear. "No one is going to forget me." If she was able to secure her grasp on Jessie, she would proceed to slam her down on top of the same railing she'd pinned Kanon under, with a chokeslam!

Jessie would feel her throat being grabbed as she was suddenly lifted straight into the air. Roxanne had a good grip on her throat and Jessie felt her airwaves tense up from being squeezed just enough to prevent any fresh air coming in. Roxanne walked back over to where her partner had fallen victim to Jessie’s intelligent response and Jessie found herself just over the guardrail. Jessie was then planted right on the steel rails as she uttered a blood curling scream of terror that was no doubt music to Roxanne’s ears and the referee leaned over the ropes scared for Jessie and Matilda’s safety. Yes, they were wrestlers, but they were still young students and while she normally wouldn’t do this with actual established wrestlers, she couldn’t forgive herself if the program instructors chewed her out for not keeping the well-being of their students in mind. The Young Lioness Program would not be tainted like this!

The referee called over to the timekeeper throwing up an X and asking for the bell to be rung. The timekeeper saw this and nodded ringing the bell as the crowd perked up in confusion as what result was being called. The referee went over to the ring announcer that was slowly creeping away from the crime scene of Roxanne’s destruction as she whispered her ruling in her ear.

“Ladies and gentlemen, at the decision to preserve the well-being of these two Young Lionesses, the referee has decided this match is over. Your winners by referee stoppage,Kanon Fujiwara and Roxanne Wolf, The Selection!”

At the sight of Roxanne lifting Matilda aloft from her throat alone, the crowd gasped. Though Roxanne wasn't that much bigger than her in the grand scheme of things, it was the Selection that had given her strength now - strength that she was about to use to her advantage, when she sent the puppeteer crashing down onto the metal railing! This could only serve as an example of what those who dared to oppose the Selection and the Anomaly. He would set matters right, soon enough. He always did.

If the sight of Roxanne setting up the chokeslam wasn't bad enough, though, the clang of Matilda's spine hitting the barricade, and the scream that ripped from her lungs soon after, was even worse! A few screams of terror could be heard from the stands, and several fans looked away and covered their eyes, not even daring to see what might come next! Roxanne wasn't even finished - as she stormed closer, she planted her hands on her hips, leering down at the two Young Lionesses laying crumpled at her feet with a look of sheer scorn on her face. She wasn't going to be done until she had both Jessie and Matilda pleading for their lives - and she raised a foot, prepared to bring it down right on the brunette's face!

Seeing things were quickly getting out of hand, the ref girl motioned for the end of the match - and yet, that didn't even seem to register for Roxanne, who proceeded to bring that foot straight down in a stomp to Matilda's skull! She soon followed that with another, and then she raised her foot again - but before that stomp could hit its mark, Kanon stepped closer, holding up a hand. Without another word from the albino, Roxanne instantly knew what to do, as if by instinct. She took a step back, bowing her head inward as she faced her master.

"We've made our point," Kanon calmly explained. "He has made his point. Let the company have this one...the long game is still his."

"...Right." Still, Roxanne fixed a glare on the two Young Lionesses, even as she took a step back from them, and let out a low growl under her breath. Kanon lowered her head and muttered a few words - and just then, the lights cut, plunging the arena into darkness. When they came back up, there was no sign of the Selection anywhere.

At such a brutal beatdown of the two Young Lionesses, there were a few boos - not that the Selection was anywhere to hear it. But still others were stunned into silence. Just what was the Selection capable of? And when would it end?

The lights went out for a few moments before they returned and Kanon and Roxanne had made their escape. Matilda was borderline unconscious after the hard stomps to her face. The black mist had forbidden her from being able to see any of them coming and a mild cut on her forehead started to show itself in the lens of the camera. Blood dripped from the scar of the puppeteer and Jessie was laid out across the guardrail trembling and twitching as her body was starting to calm down from the tension and pain surging through the skin. Jessie slid off onto the cold hard concrete nursing her back as the fans backed up from her and security surrounded her to prevent further harm coming to her.

The referee got out of the ring and called for medical personnel as stretchers were ushered out seconds later. It would seem The Selection never meant to recruit these two and instead just send a message of their destruction. That Nightmare on LAW Street was a mere setback for their goals and they would soon achieve what they had set out to do. Maybe it was derailed for now, but they could wait patiently. He had all the time he could wait. Soon, Astrid and Sarabeth would return and they would face a swarm of darkness they hadn’t yet seen. This was only the beginning.
