Debut! Cassie Meyers tries to step up against VIP

Unread post by Fragile Express »

Match Card: Cassie Meyers versus Vanessa I. Price (VIP)
Match Type: Beg for Mercy
Match Rules: Opponents will try to use any means and make the other utter the word: "Mercy". Should a wrestler utter this word, they surrender resulting in a loss. The winner is then allowed to proceed however she wishes.

"Huh?"

Cassie Meyer found herself uttering unintentionally as realization hit her as she read through the paper the assistant handed her. She had a match and did not expect it. She had spent the past week listed in the active roster for L.A.W but she didn't expect a match so soon. Her agency had mentioned anything all week after signing about a match. She didn't mention anything at all, in fact.

Amelia Seydoux.

Cassie's boss and owner of Fragile Express, who had just started up in the wrestling business. From the meeting she had with her at the start of the week, she seemed great. Amelia had previous experience as a professional wrestler, a champion even, and promised to help Cassie climb her way to the top. It seemed especially good with her being the first wrestler under contract for the company. It was too good, in fact. A week without mention of schedules or showings lead up to Cassie suddenly being served a match today, and it wasn't just a standard match. A "Beg for Mercy" match sounded extreme for a debut and her opponent, a VIP it seemed, was also another enigma that she unfortunately could not figure out. What was with all the mysteries in this industry?

She had seen some other matches to get a better understanding of how things worked. Callie May versus Amity Blight, a duel of two rookies like her. She didn't pick one of them as a favorite but both of them looked good. Then you had some more... out there like Winter Songbird versus Shimmerlace Snuggleblossom. What was going on with their names, first off? Cassie, and she believed, many others just used their names. Sure she was The Wind Knight but that was just a title. It seemed like those were actually called that... and sort of embodied those wacky names, too.

... Speaking of matches, did Cassie even have a theme song, yet? She had some ideas but-
Entrance Theme
"Miss Meyers, you are up!" The steward said as he poked his head in the room, pointing up as if gesturing towards the music... Wait? That was her music?!?

Cassie darted up to her feet, not entirely ready yet. Damn, it was happening so fast that she picked up the last bit of her attire, her small cloak, and swung it over her shoulders as she moved from her ready room to the hallway and beyond.
Entering Now

Cassie emerged after her music built up her entrance for a minute or two. The fans roared with excitement, something she didn't expect. The feeling was quite warm but the suddenness of it all made her head spin. Her vision glazed over and she seemed to be on auto-pilot as she moved down towards the stage. She had performed plenty of times in front of large crowds for volleyball. She thought she had gotten rid of those nerves but the shock of it all at this point had broken that kind of veterancy when it came to handling showtime.

Besides.

She would either be making her opponent beg for mercy or she would.

Oh God, Cassie's covered expression of a simple smile broke to a wide-eyed shock as she reached the threshold of the ring. She had to make someone beg?! for mercy She's made opponents tap out before in the past but this felt beyond that. What was she even doing?

She stepped up, climbing into the ring. Ducking under the top rope, she climbed in realizing there was no turning back. She didn't have that luxury and now the notion of springing this match on her suddenly started to make sense. She couldn't back out until the very last moment considering the match. How cruel!

She worked on slipping off her accessories, leaving just the white sleeves, collar, pants, boots, and her top. She thought about keeping the gloves since they were padded and could probably help in this match but she didn't want to maim her opponent. She wasn't like that... but then again, how else would she be able to get her opponent to beg for mercy? 690 Words = 690XP

The arena grew dark aside from multiple strobe lights as Money by The Warning hit and Vanessa I. Price came out onto the stage with a confident smile on her face and her typical vest, tie, and skirt combination she typically wrestled in, along with a pair of sunglasses, glancing around at the crowd as they booed her loudly. This time, she had a jacket on as well, and she turned, putting her back to the crowd, looking completely smug and satisfied with herself. The jacket in bright bedazzled letters said: I ALWAYS WIN. This realization got those in attendance jeering her even more loudly, and VIP could only laugh.

The fashionista was having her first match since her Apex Match against Amber Skye. A hard fought battle that, although she had taken great liberties and broken the rules multiple times, Vanessa I. Price was declared the winner. And regardless of how it happened, she was completely satisfied to have won and kept her winning streak going. And she had proclaimed loudly after it, a single truth that she believed: I ALWAYS WIN. A motto she was taking to her next match up against some newcomer. She didn't bother to even learn her name, she was so confident. And in a Beg For Mercy Match? Well, they didn't seem to be challenging her new catchphrase at all. She didn't even bother bringing Chelsea Loski along to help. She deserved the break.

A red carpet unfurled in front of Vanessa as she began to walk down the ramp and towards the ring, holding out her arms proudly while she was pelted with more boos. Eventually, she was able to walk up the ring ropes, giving a smug look at the crowd and shaking her head. Then Price commanded the referee to open the ring ropes for her, which the official complied, pulling down the bottom rope as Vanessa walked through and stepped out to the center of the ring with her arms out and a wide smile on her face, soaking in more of the loud boos. She went to the center of the ring, proudly soaking in the negative attention she was receiving in stride.

She would then take off her sunglasses, followed by her jacket, and she handed them to the referee. It was time for Vanessa I. Price to get to work as she turned to look at Cassie, looking over her appearance before letting out a short laugh, shaking her head. "Now what did you deserve to be put against me?" asked VIP as she began walking towards Cassie Meyers confidently, looming over her.

She narrowed her gaze at the newbie, shaking her head. "Oh, they must have some very specific plans for you... Plans I'm certain you won't enjoy. Because keep in mind that you will be facing Vanessa I. Price, the VIP. And you will beg me for mercy. And that is the only conclusion here because I. Always. Win." The fashionista said the words confidently, menacingly, and was clearly trying to rattle the newcomer before the bell even rang. And to accent that point, she would attempt to pie face her, wanting to shove Cassie hard by her face with one hand, just to add on the disrespect.

It finally made sense.

Vanessa I. Price.

Cassie was not going against an actual VIP, apparently nameless they were on the match listing, but rather the initials of someone with VIP. Although it had certainly seemed like Vanessa wanted to be a VIP. The grandiose opening seemed to indicate importance but wow... the audience did not like her. The boos sounded like the away team just got caught playing dirty... Cassie frowned. She was beginning to understand who she was facing now and took a glance over to her discarded entrance equipment. Was it too late to put on her gloves for the extra slug in her punches?

She resisted the temptation. Barely.

So confident. Cassie furrowed a brow out of annoyance at the shorter blonde, opening her mouth to speak... Only to be treated to shove to the face that sent the taller blonde back peddling a few steps. Arrogant, more like, Cassie internally mused as she didn't rise to the provocation. "Everyone loves to see an upset, princess. Polishing off a win here would jumpstart my career, don't you think?" Cassie rose to the occasion, taunting as she leaned forward, bending over to place her hands on her thighs. "Cassie Meyers upsets Vanessa in a stunning blowout! That's a headline."

The bell would ring and Cassie would get ready to square off!

Vanessa I. Price had tried to rile up her opponent with a stiff shove to her face, but to her surprise, the newcomer didn't seem to get too rattled by that, nor her words. The wicked fashionista would smugly smirk at Cassie as she proclaimed she may well have an upset here. Glancing to the side as the crowd gave a solid amount of cheers to Meyers for her bravery for standing up to VIP, it made the more veteran member of the league laugh before she glanced over at her opponent again. Confidence. Unearned confidence. The kind of confidence only someone would have that hasn't run into a competitor like Vanessa I. Price.

"A lovely little fantasy," responded Price simply before clicking her tongue. "I hope you'll remember that when you're pleading for me to stop and end the match already. Because if you believe I am about to lose to a rookie like you, I'm afraid you'll be sorely disappointed."

Instead of adopting a more readied pose, VIP stepped back and held out her arms, grinning confidently. "But go on. Take your very best shot. You get one for free! Show everyone that there will very well be an upset here! That my winning streak ends with you!" the crowd booed this display, but Vanessa kept her arms out, letting herself be open.

That is, she presented herself for that. She kept a keen eye on Cassie Meyers though and was ready to counter whatever Cassie would throw at her. She wanted to show this brat immediately just how out of her depth that she would be.

Cassie was practically bouncing on each foot as she waited and watched her opponent prattle on. She was wary of being lured and being offered a free shot was, of course, the most obvious bait. However, there was definitely a compulsion to make VIP eat her words, like any good smack talker before the start of a competition. It was always satisfying to see them losing despite their earlier haughtiness. VIP was definitely lining up in the same way.

"Obvious bait is obvious... But I'm not one to back down from an open challenge. No hard feelings if it is too much for you." Cassie said with a smirk, turning to run towards the rope, half spinning to lean back and let the elasticity of the ropes propel her back towards the open armed VIP. She stretched her right arm out, looking to cleave VIP across the throat in clothesline. She kept her footing and hopefully with her speed she'd be able to maneuver before VIP tried anything tricky.

Cassie Meyers had been leery of VIP's most gracious offer for a free shot at her. Rightfully so, as Vanessa was certainly not going to just let some foolish newcomer run wild on her. When Cassie had called it out as bait, the fashionista couldn't help but almost laugh at her for it. All of that brave and bold talk, and VIP was certain that it would be for naught, and that Cassie would be singing a far different tune by the end of the match.

However, when Meyers turned and ran towards the ropes, she was certainly not about to stand there and allow her to hit some kind of high impact move on her. As Cassie wasn't facing her, Vanessa would run to follow her and dive low! As Cassie ran back at her, Vanessa would then attempt to grab her leg and sweep her back into the mat! If successful, VIP would then roll over the back of Meyers and attempt to grab hold of her in basic headlock. She simply wanted to try to get one up on Meyers early on in the match--assert dominance. Prove to the crowd that her plucky opponent was out of her depth. And an easy headlock would accomplish precisely what she wanted!
