Mashu Kyrielight vs Yunaka Rubi - Strongest of the Lioness

Unread post by Roy (abracy) »

It's been a bit since Mashu has been here and it's been a bit since Mashu has had a major match like this. At least this time Doctor Romani let her know on who she's going to be fighting, she has a name and a reason for why they're fighting in the first place...as a little vague as it was. Apparently her name is Yunaka Rubi and that the reason behind this match is being set up is because that apparently both of them are very much alike strength-wise...not that Mashu has ANY idea what that actually means until she sees it. Oh and she had been let known that this was going to be a standard wrestling match, something good and basic which is pretty good. Anyways she gets herself ready for the match as she gets into the ring while her theme plays in the background as always. She wondered what her opponent is going to be like as she goes over to her corner and waits for her opponent to get here.

LAW's Young Lioness program didn't have a ranking system, or any sort of title like a proper division, but Yunaka Rubi knew that she had to be somewhere up near the top if she wasn't #1 outright. In a similar position was the redhead's opponent for tonight's match, Mashu Kyrielight. In fact, it probably wouldn't be unreasonable for whoever won tonight to declare themselves the unofficial top wrestler among the Young Lioness's

As usual, LAW was trying to find reasons to boot Yunaka up to the main roster, despite her preferring to stay where she was. When they pointed to the utter dominance she was beating opponent's with, Yunaka responded that maybe she was just beating up on the weaker wrestlers in the program. After all, Meiyun Lai was the only one of her three opponents that seemed remotely competent against her.

This match was LAW's response in turn, putting Yunaka against someone whom they knew was the cream of the rookie crop. If the redhead rolled again, then her argument would be null. The more she thought about it, the more Yunaka was surprised that LAW hadn't tried to push this as a graduation match. If Mashu was on a similar skill level to herself, then it would stand to reason that LAW would want her in the main roster as well.
Music
"Well, guess it doesn't matter. Showtime," said Yunaka as she flashed a bright smile before skipping out from backstage to the cheers of many fans. "HIYA PAPAYA!" she called out to the crowd, receiving a chorus of her catchphrase in return. Yunaka made her way into the ring and bounced in her corner before greeting her opponent. "So how goes it? I've heard that Mashu could mash me like a potato! I'm excited to see if the stories are true!"

Mashu had to admit that the music chosen for Yunaka...well...it's definitely unique to say the least. She isn't trying to call it bad or anything it's just...well it's very unexpected, don't wrestlers normally use more energetic or an actual song that says something about the wrestler in question? She guesses that in a sense it can fall into the latter but...it's overall too laid-back and goofy for her liking but hey, who is she to judge what kind of music other wrestlers use for their entrance. Anyways she HAS heard that there are a couple wrestlers who are said to be stronger than they reasonable should be. Of course she's going to have to see it in action to confirm anything since she doesn't know how Yunaka is comparable to her in terms of strength. Seeing her opponent, Mashu has to admit that Yunaka seems to quite energetic and maybe a little goofy if her bouncing around and bright smile is of any indication. When Mashu heard of the joke, it took her a minute to really get it before she chuckles "I-I have to admit, I haven't heard of that one before. That was funny. It's nice to meet you Yunaka" She smiles, trying to make a good first impression.

Yunaka wasn't too surprised when it took a minute for her joke to sink in on Mashu. She hadn't really thought too much about it before she was actually in the ring, and was somewhat internally cringing even as the words came out of her mouth. Thankfully it got a chuckle out of Mashu, and it seemed genuine enough to Yunaka that the redhead widened her smile a a bit more.

"I'm glad you liked it! Nice to meet you too, Mashu," said Yunaka with her fists on her hips and a friendly nod. As the redhead took a moment to size up her opponent, she felt that Mashu did give off an air of strength. The kind of look that said someone was seriously able to throw down. Something which Yunaka mostly hadn't seen from her first opponents. Meiyun showed a flash or two of that power, but she wasn't quite there yet.

Despite Yunaka's understanding that Mashu was likely a much more serious opponent, she had no plan to fight differently from normal. Regardless of her opponent, Yunaka fought with hyper aggression fueled by raw speed, and backed up by respectable strength. So when the greetings were done and the bell was rung, Yunaka was sprinting at blistering speeds toward her new friend. Profiled low to the ground, Yunaka would rise up slightly as she closed in on Mashu, left fist raised and aimed right at the pinkette's head. The punch however, was just to pull Mashu's attention, and Yunaka would never actually throw it. Instead the redhead would leap forward, trying to drive a Rising Knee straight into and through Mashu's stomach.

Mashu had to admit, the air of strength that Yunaka also gave off didn't go unnoticed by her. While it wasn't rare by any means, it was something that she hasn't necessarily felt in a while in someone. Gudako had a little bit of that but that's her most recent example. Anyways she will fight like how she always has, which means that she will give it her all and fight seriously and will trust that her opponent will give it her all as well. Once the greetings were done, she gets into her fighting stance before the bell would ring. Admittedly Mashu thought that they were going into a test of strength but she guesses not as Yunaka has moved too low to want to do that and instead wants to go on the offensive early. She sees the punch coming and would try to block it preemptively, but alas it was a fake-out as she suffers a Rising Knee to her knee as she coughs from the attack and stumbles back a little from it. That was a pretty good move, but she was of course well enough to fight back for a retaliation as she would copy that attack in a similar fashion. She would raise her knee as if to pay back for the beginning attack, however it was a fake-out and the real attack would come out when she jumps off her other foot and kick across Yunaka's head for a big impact.

Yunaka knew that her attack was going to land once she saw Mashu reacting to the fake punch, and it certainly felt good as her knee landed in the belly window of her opponent's leotard like a target and sunk into the pinkette's belly. Yunaka was fully expecting to go absolutely wild on Mashu once she landed back on the mat from her Rising Knee after a first hit like that, but the redhead had a big surprise in store for her.

Mashu stayed upright and stayed within close range as she only stumbled back a couple of steps, normally something that would elate Yunaka since that would mean she could grab the pinkette to continue attacking immediately. But Yunaka's excitement turned to horror when she glanced down on her landing and saw Mashu already bringing her own knee up to pay her back.

On pure reflex, Yunaka brace her abs and brought her hands down to protect herself as her feet hit the ground, but that just meant the she wasn't in any position at all to block Mashu's real payback. Just like Yunaka, Mashu had led with a feint. Ever aware, Yunaka saw the kick coming fast enough to try ducking it, but she was not successful. Mashu's knee crashed into the top of Yunaka's skull, the close proximity of the two Lioness's causing the pinkette's knee to hit rather than her shin or foot.

Gah!" Yunaka was sent spinning as she stumbled to the side, only staying upright by planting a hand on the ground and pushing back up before she fell completely. Yunaka regained her balance a half step away from the ropes, so she just turned her back and leaned into them. Then Yunaka began chuckling, "Hehehehaha! Jeez, Mashu! I can't remember the last time I got rocked like that! Which could either be very good or very bad, considering I just got popped in the noggin."

Mashu knew that she can't underestimate Yunaka...not that she planned on it but it goes double for her since she can feel that air of strength that was coming from her. Even after she managed to clock her opponent right on the head with that knee strike, Yunaka was able to stand back up and laugh it off. It may have affected her like any fighter, but Yunaka managed to brush it off faster than she thought. The Fairy Grail Knight can definitely see how Yunaka is suppose to be like her in strength now, she's tough for someone who's in the Lioness program. Most rookie fighters would probably get really disorientated after a hit like that but that doesn't seem to be the case with her. Anyways she decides to respond to her opponent "Thank you, you're really tough for someone in Young Lioness Program" She then rushes in to grab on to Yunaka to make her run towards the opposite ropes and knock her down again with a clothesline, a rather basic but effective move she feels for something like this.

Yunaka probably wasn't quite ready to get back into the match by the time Mashu started making her move on the redhead, so the knight was able to take control and Irish Whip Yunaka across the ring after a short grappling scuffle. But with a trip across the ring, off the ropes, and back again on Yunaka's agenda courtesy of Mashu, the former street thug would have enough time to compose herself and start fighting back before the two Lionesses would collide once again.

Yunaka would collect herself so that her movement would upgrade from a directed stumbling to a controlled run, the redhead getting a few steps of a proper sprint in before she turned her back into the ropes and rebounded off. She'd take couple more strides before breaking into a cartwheel as she closed in on Mashu, then coming down on her hands to do a springboard front flip, coming down with her heels looking poised to come crashing down onto the crown of the pinkette's skull.

That hit, wouldn't come, however. Yunaka would instead land in a deep crouch, already set up right in front of and below Mashu for one of her signature moves. It might be early, enough so that the redhead was not expecting this to put Mashu down for the count at all, but Yunaka recognized that she was fighting an opponent who justified bringing out the big guns early and often.

Of course, Yunaka's maneuver was dependent on Mashu stopping her attack in order to respond to her opponent taking flight. If Mashu had nerves of steel to either call out the feint or just try her Clothesline against Yunaka's aerial attack, then she would be rewarded by knocking Yunaka clean out of the air like a ragdoll. But if Mashu did stop, then... "Dropped your guard." She better get to trying to prove Yunaka wrong in the next fraction on a second before she took two bombs straight to her chin.

Mashu was able to grapple with Yunaka and grab her to Irish Whip her across the ring. However she noticed that Yunaka managed to steady herself so that she would be actually running towards the ropes and not just stumbling towards them. She was surprised to see Yunaka break into a cartwheel and did a springboard front flip in front of her. Her idea of getting her with a clothesline doesn't really seem possible anymore...unless if her unique attack is another feint...but what are the odds that Yunaka just tried to pull TWO feints in the same round back to back like that. Wait actually, Yunaka's first feint worked so she might think that a second time will work as well. Regardless of Yunaka's thought processes, Mashu knows that she'll have to make a decision in this split second so either back off or take the rise. Mashu is willing to take a risk in this and keep going with her clothesline to catch her and knock her down clean out of the air like a ragdoll.

Yunaka wouldn't actually be able to get a clear view of how Mashu would respond to the feint until after she had begun pulling her legs down to land, meaning well after the redhead had committed to her decision. And when the curtain of her legs had been pulled from in front of her eyes, Yunaka was greeted with the sight Mashu's extended arm coming at her, as if the zappy wrestler hadn't threatened an attack at all.

"Oh Cra-AGH!" Yunaka was cut off as Mashu's arm crashed into her chest, the redhead's descent happening to put her at just the right height to cushion the Clothesline with her breasts as it connected and knocked her back. Yunaka was able to control her fall well enough that she was able to use the momentum to combat roll off of her back and up to a three-point stance.

"You gotta be yanking my daggers! How do you see me coming feet first at your noggin like that and not even flinch!" Yunaka said with an impressed smirk as she recovered from Mashu's attack. "How are you only a Middleweight with guts of iron and nerves of steel. You're runnin' a conspiracy, I tell ya!" As Yunaka joked around, she'd also casually approach Mashu as if they weren't even fighting, though of course the former street girl would keep a sharp eye out. Then if Mashu let her get in close, Yunaka would strike like a viper out a bush, dropping low and trying to sweep the pinkette's legs out from under her and marking the beginning of a big offensive if Yunaka had her way.
