It definitely didn't feel like her debut. After many years of traveling around the world, Charlotte decided to stay in Tokyo in order to open a martial arts school. She never planned to start a career in the professional ring. But pro wrestling won her heart. When she fully felt what it was, she realized that it was here that she could do what she had always dreamed of.
But already in the first match she was disappointed. Charlotte saw every match as an opportunity to become the better version of herself. But this is possible only with a worthy and strong opponent. The first woman the Frenchwoman met couldn't give her a good match. Victory is victory. Only those for whom numbers are important think so. But Charlotte did not enjoy that victory.
It was different with Ember. This woman looked like a phoenix. Charlotte did not hold back, but even being on the verge of defeat, her opponent found the strength not only to continue the match, but also to respond to the Frenchwoman with no less, and possibly more serious series of attacks. The skills and willpower of the German-American woman earned the deepest respect of the Sand Lizard. Ember was a worthy opponent. And that's why this match was the first time Charlotte got the opportunity to get better. Get stronger than yesterday.
So she just couldn't give up. She couldn't back down. She was in pain. But if the pain alone is enough to stop her, then how can she even call herself a fighter? No, it wasn't enough. Having met a strong opponent in the ring for the first time, Charlotte intended to fight to the last.
Breathing heavily, she tried to gather at least some strength. She could hear the audience screaming. She could hear Ember muttering something in a tired voice. Yes, the Sand Lizard broke the pin. But that was only half of it. Now she had a much more difficult task ahead of her. Trying to restrain painful groans, the Frenchwoman turned on her stomach and put her palms on the mat. It was disastrously difficult to move, Ember's last attack literally knocked the wind out of her. And so it was not surprising that the red-haired woman was on her feet faster than Charlotte even had time to try to do it.
"Gggshhh..." Came out of her mouth the moment Ember grabbed her by the hair.
Damn. This was definitely the part of wrestling that Charlotte didn't like. Why did every second fighter see the need to grab the opponent's hair? However, that wasn't her biggest problem right now. The Frenchwoman's body was still wadded and so Ember did most of the work on lifting the pink-haired woman to her feet.
She perfectly heard her rival's demand. And despite her unfocused vision, she saw that Ember had clenched her fist. The Sand Lizard was barely standing at this moment. The red-haired woman's fist smashed into her cheek and her head jerked to the side. Blood mixed with saliva flew out of the Frenchwoman's mouth. Her legs gave way and she fell to one knee.
Yes, she was able to break the pin. But it didn't look like she had the strength left to continue the match. Charlotte was exhausted. She probably would have put her head down if Ember hadn't held her hair so tightly. Pain was the only thing she felt at that moment. But even so, the same words kept repeating in her head.
"Give me what you got left. Give me what you got left. Give me what you got left. Give me what you got left."
Did she really break the pin just to delay her defeat? Does only Ember really have the strength left to finish it? Was it really the end?
When she trained at the Chinese monastery, she learned one thing that became one of the main principles of her life. Even if you're going to lose, it doesn't mean you shouldn't try to win. When she discovered this truth for herself, she swore that in every fight she would try to go to the end, no matter what it cost her. The Sand Lizard clenched her right fist.
"SHANNAROOOOO!!!!" Charlotte let out her deafening battle cry.
Ember demanded to give her what she got left. That's exactly what the pink-haired woman was going to do. Through the pain and exhaustion, she channeled strength into her legs in order to straighten up to her full height. She was not a super-strong woman and perhaps she was losing to most in pure physical strength. But she knew how to use her body to strengthen each of the attacks available to her.
Charlotte was going to turn on her toes to the left side in order to add the force of torque to her movement. And it was at this moment that she intended to throw her right fist up. She didn't go through all this to stumble now. She went through all this in order to show what she is capable of. That's what she put into the devastating European uppercut that she aimed at her opponent's chin!

The art of fucking around to find out.
The more she threw her hand (fucked around), the more she ate one back (found out). T’was a delicate teeter and totter throughout this bout, and now she was standing on fucking stilts for legs. Her knuckles did kick up a nice bite. It was a soft landing, a clap and fingersnap. She felt the bruise tingling through her skin. Making that fist again would need more masochism, but when all was vapour-adrenaline, she’ll bite on it and take the grievance to redhead valhalla. A bar.
She did a light stumble after it, came to a bladed stance, knees slightly bent. Her lead arm met her lead knee. She leaned on it. Depended, even. When it came down to that wind-up, it took some steel to ready for it. No way was she dodging in this state. Not without falling. She’ll bite this move too. And when it sank in, it piledrived deep. Her head flung up, with spittle and a yelp. Her eyes scrunched shut to bear. Her jawbone ignited. She felt dizzy, her legs trembled, the knees banged together before she retreated one step, then two. When she tried to catch her knees with her hands, she missed, slipped and fell to a knee. An open target, clear as day.

Re: [Standard Match] Charlotte Ravel' vs Ember Days - Lightning is always followed by thunder
It was hard to say which was louder, Charlotte's battle cry or the screams of the audience at this moment when she gathered her strength. Her fist went up like a rocket. Those who were fine with fantasy would surely have seen that a burgundy-pink aura appeared around the Sand Lizard, bursting out from the very depths of her soul. A real fighter never gives up. A real fighter strives to go forward, regardless of any circumstances. Charlotte was weakened. Her body was covered in blood and sweat. But she wasn't going to stop.
Her knuckles dug into Ember's chin. The force of the punch was so great that the red-haired woman's head fell back so abruptly as if it was going to come off her neck. Saliva and blood flew out of the mouth of the staggering woman, who involuntarily backed away. It seemed like it was only a matter of time before the German-American woman fell backwards. However, this did not happen. It was hard to tell if it was Ember's own will or not, but instead of falling on her back, she leaned forward and then dropped to one knee.
"Phaaa... phaaaa... phaaaa..." Charlotte gasped.
Like her rival, the pink-haired woman was staggering. Her eyes, still filled with tears, pulsed with light, followed by darkness. She felt a lump in her throat. Her body was exhausted to such an extent that she was literally forced to concentrate on keeping herself conscious. Leaning forward, she placed both palms on her knees, gasping for air. Although each breath, instead of bringing her strength, seemed to only burn her lungs.
She only had to take a few steps forward. But those few steps seemed like a mile under the scorching sun to her. Charlotte closed her eyes, trying to find at least a little more strength to finish what she had started. And at that moment she heard the audience shouting her name. Her debut was not a match that the audience will remember. Charlotte knew that. But this match was on a completely different level. Ember gave her a real fight. And this time the Sand Lizard deserved that her name remained in the hearts of the audience.
It was this thought that gave her strength. Gritting her teeth, Charlotte, staggering, took two steps forward. She intended to slip her hands under the arms of the red-haired woman, thereby closing her in a double underhook hold, and then place Ember's head between her sweaty thighs. For the last seven years of her life, she tried to find her way, she devoted her life to martial arts because she believed that thanks to this she could become the best version of herself. And now, standing here, in the LAW ring, she felt for the first time in a long time that she had done everything right.
Putting all her willpower, the Sand Lizard intended to straighten up to her full height, at the same time turning the red-haired woman over and lifting her above the mat. And at the very moment when Ember would have been upside down, she intended to abruptly release her opponent's arms, but instead wrap the German-American woman around her waist. Falling into a sitting position, Charlotte wanted to pull Ember down sharply in order to smash her head and her entire upper body into the mat. Many people knew it as a double underhook powerbomb, but Charlotte called it the lizard's adaptation becase it was one of her most destructive moves with only one purpose. To end it all!

Re: [Standard Match] Charlotte Ravel' vs Ember Days - Lightning is always followed by thunder
Ain’t this just a fine crock of shit. One on the chin and feels like a sack of bricks. She wanted to be stronger. Always had. Sometimes there’s just shit you can’t plough through. Damn knee kept shaking. Would help to see it. Sweat cluttered up like mud in her eyes. Or was it tears? Hard to tell. Stuff grew so numb that she didn’t till left from right. She can feel her back, her head, how much both sucked. How much she just needed a rest. Can feel her throat burn up by the moment, like raking fingernails over her windpipe. You got a good chalkboard screech and all that leftover chalk gave her a rasp.
It’s all black and misty then on. Between the legs. Hunched, not too painful. Pulled by her arms, high to a spin. Disorienting -- but still not too painful. Her eyes span around, hair and curling body alike slave to momentum. She felt something grab her waist, then, nothing. A bang shook the ring. Her arms never fell so flat before. It’s a silent and clean execution anyone can cheer for. Her legs remained on Charlotte’s shoulders, eyes slumped to the back of her head. Her maw opened and heaved. Those fingers twitched every so often. Nothing more. Catch her counting ship on the distant world of make belief. A place of dreams, so sound, it’ll take her minutes to leave.

Re: [Standard Match] Charlotte Ravel' vs Ember Days - Lightning is always followed by thunder
It wasn't smooth. When Charlotte placed Ember in the hold, the red-haired woman began to twitch from side to side. The Frenchwoman felt the will to win coming from her rival. She had to grit her teeth not to let go of the German-American woman. Ember was much stronger than the Sand Lizard had imagined. But she didn't want to stumble on the last step, she focused on overcoming the resistance of the red-haired woman.
Distributing the last drops of strength throughout her body, the Frenchwoman lifted Ember over the mat, turning her upside down. It was then that she felt her opponent go limp. It was familiar to any fighter. The red-haired woman realized that what was waiting for her was inevitable. And in this case it was difficult to argue with that. Releasing Ember's arms, Charlotte wrapped her arms around her waist, and then fell into a sitting position, driving her opponent's entire upper body into the mat.
It was hard to say what was louder, the sound of Ember falling or the wild screams of the audience filling the arena. However, this question was the last thing that worried Charlotte, who was barely able to force herself to breathe. White spots appeared and disappeared before her eyes, and her mind was literally ready to turn off the light due to the fact that she was exhausted.
Ember's eyes were tightly closed and her only movements were the convulsive twitching of her fingers. However, this woman has demonstrated that she is able to find strength even in the most terrible situation. And the big question was, would she be able to do it again? Well. There was only one way for Charlotte to find out.
Remaining in a sitting position, she leaned forward, exerting additional pressure on Ember lying on the mat. The shoulder blades of the red-haired woman were securely pressed to the mat, which was noticed by the referee, who quickly fell next to them. The striped shirt raised her hand above her head, and then abruptly lowered it down.
"ONE!" It echoed through the arena.
Charlotte closed her eyes and bit her lower lip. Some would have considered it too big words, but she gave Ember everything she had. She literally had nothing more to offer, because the Frenchwoman only miraculously continued to remain conscious.
"TWO!!" The walls shook.
At this point, she held her breath. Her debut was terrible. Yes, she got a victory, but this victory was meaningless for her. Someone would probably say that the Frenchwoman is just too proud. But she believed that her debut was over before it even started and she didn't see a single reason to be proud of winning such a debut. But this match is a completely different matter. Ember was a real challenge for her. And there is only one second left, which will determine whether Charlotte will be able to get a victory that she will be proud of. The referee again raised her hand above her head, and then...
"THREE!!!"
Ding-Ding-Ding.
Charlotte exhaled loudly. A wave of relief passed through her body and with it she fell on her back. The audience shouted and applauded. They did not expect to see such a close confrontation today, until the last moment they were unable to determine which of these women would take the victory. Charlotte, on the other hand, was gulping air, making every possible effort to stay conscious, because she didn't want it to overshadow the end of this match. She did it. She won.
After a while, the Frenchwoman gathered her strength and pushed off from the mat, first rising to one knee, and then straightening up to her full height. The Sand Lizard staggered, but then took a deep breath and found the balance. The referee approached the martial arts master and raised her hand, officially declaring Charlotte the winner. If Charlotte had such an opportunity, she would have demanded this match be considered her debut. Because now she really felt like a winner.
Releasing Charlotte's hand, the referee went down to Ember to check her condition. The Frenchwoman walked around the red-haired woman on the other side and got down on one knee. A fighter is always a fighter. And Charlotte knew Ember didn't want to lose. She was sure that the German-American woman had exactly the same attitude to losing as she herself. And, nevertheless, the Sand Lizard was ready to say without remorse that just one moment would be enough for victory to be in Ember's hands. She didn't know if her rival could hear her, but...
"Thank you..." Charlotte said briefly, placing her palm on the palm of the red-haired woman.
For what? For the match. There was nothing more valuable than a decent match with a worthy opponent for the Frenchwoman. Ember's strength and skills struck her to the core. There should always be a winner in a match. And she didn't regret her victory. Because this victory was not easy.
Removing her palm, Charlotte left Ember in the care of the referee, and then rolled under the bottom rope. When she landed on her feet, her face reflected the pain that filled her body. However, as soon as she took a step forward, the noise in the hall increased many times. The audience equally supported them during the match, but now they were cheering their winner. And if last time the Sand Lizard left the arena with a stone face, this time a smile appeared on her lips.
Walking up the ramp, she felt something strange. The applause and the screams coming from the audience seemed to drown out her pain. For most of her life, the pink-haired woman felt oppressive loneliness. But now, surrounded by support, she felt good for the first time in a long time. It wasn't the end of her way. That was just the beginning. This match was great, but it was only the first step towards the goal that Charlotte wanted to achieve. Become the best fighter. She had a shower and rest ahead of her, and then she was going to start training, because she knew that there would be no less difficult trials ahead than the one Ember gave her. It was with this thought that the Sand Lizard disappeared behind the curtains.
