Dusting Off: Angela Belti vs. Alaina Sanders-Haines

Alaina was right. Angela knew she was right. The pain going through her spine like a hot knife told her she was right.

And yet, still, she didn't want to tap out.

Her first match with her daughter at ringside, watching as she took on a legend. Her first match in a new promotion, the one chance to start off with a good impression. All of that, gone. It was a shame, she hated it.

But she would hate being injured even more. Health came first, and she knew there was only one thing to do in this situation.

Angela closed her eyes, clenched her teeth, and smacked her hand on the mat as fast as she could, tapping out.

The bell rang as Angela tapped out to Alaina's favorite submission hold. Working hard to perfect it had paid off again as Alaina stood up holding her arms out and taking in the cheers as her music again played in the speakers. She flexed her arms and kissed a bicep as she soaked up the cheers, striking one final pose with a hand on her hip as she ran her other hand through her hair while swaying her hips a bit.

Alaina would wait a moment after though and see if Angela needed help up. "You... I heard of you but didn't know much about your career. You are a big strong lady ya know that? You took it to me pretty damn good." Alaina said offering a hand.

Angela was grateful for the hand up. She did, in fact, need it.

She took the offered hand and groaned as she was pulled up, pressing a hand against her spie for added support. ”I was most on the European scene. Not too many Americans would know of me.” She gave a sympathetic shrug. ”And thanks. Not the result I wanted, but at least I’m starting off here with a good match. That’s important.”

As much as she wanted to be mad about things, she knew this wasn’t the worst result. Winning was better, but there were good ways to lose, too. Accept it and move on.

She didn’t want to steal Alaina’s thunder, so she gave the woman a pat on the shoulder and moved towards the ropes. ”I’ll let you have your space. We can talk in the back, if you’re interested.”

"I gotcha, I spent time in European Union Womens Wrestling about 20 years ago so we may have opponents in common." Alaina said as Angela turned to leave. "I will see you back there."
