Demon vs Goddess: Byleth Eisner vs Ishtar Vasiliev

While Ishtar did manage to make her burst to the ropes to escape getting choked out by Byleth's triangle choke counter move, the professor was certainly going to make it as hard on her as possible. She continually jerked down on Ishtar's neck, putting on extra strain, and threatening to drag Ishtar back down if she wasn't careful.

But Ishtar did make the ropes, and Byleth released as she did so. Not trusting Byleth to let her have a single inch for free, she stayed alert enough to duck the parting elbow that Byleth tried to hit her with. "Thanks, I've needed to be though. It feels like you've always had the edge on me in this match," Ishtar replied.

Now Ishtar had to figure out what she would do to try to open up Byleth's defense again. Once again, Ishtar would open with a jab that would more than likely be blocked. But this time, Ishtar would follow up much more aggressively. In the moment her punch went into Byleth's guard, Ishtar would bounce towards Byleth's side and then try to slip her arm underneath Byleth's arm, and then snake it up to the back of Byleth's neck for a half nelson. If it worked, Ishtar would then try to swing around from Byleth's side to her back to turn the half nelson into a full nelson.

Byleth felt as though the match had escaped her several times. Ishtar seemingly saved by her monstrous strength. While it would anger anyone else in the ring. Byleth knew that her next course of her action would be to just weaken Ishtar, enough where her strength was a non-factor.

Responding to what Byleth said. It made her smile, true to herself she did not respond. Now just more focused on the next part in the match. Byleth saw Ishtar open up with her jab, easily batting down without any hard work. But it seemed like that wasn’t her plan, Ishtar now it appears learning from Byleth. Bouncing to Byleth’s side and slipping her arm under Byleth’s. What?!? Byleth would let out surprised, struggling to get free from Ishtar. If anything her struggle only added to Ishtar’s hold. Now behind her Ishtar hooked her arm around Byleth’s other arm, putting her in a full nelson.

Naturally Byleth struggled to get out of the hold. It was obvious that Ishtar was stronger, so it wasn’t like Byleth was forcing her way out of the hold. Yet this made her think, this full nelson wasn’t a move that was going to finish her off. That would take to long, and she was confident that Ishtar wouldn’t give Byleth enough time to think her way out. This led Byleth to believe that this was only a transition into some big move Ishtar was looking for. If that was the case, Byleth felt that she could find her victory, through Ishtar funnily enough.

Ishtar had finally gotten one over on Byleth. She didn't have to save herself from a counter or desperately try to outmaneuver the professor's web of techniques and tricks. Ishtar's reward was a locked in full nelson that for once, Byleth didn't seem to have the answer to. The Russian's chest pressed into her opponent's back as the professors arms were trapped up over her head.

But Ishtar knew that someone as smart as Byleth would figure something out before she would be force to tap by a simple full nelson, even with the Russian's mighty strength pressing down on her neck. And so Ishtar had already planned what she would transition into; the full nelson's much more dangerous brother: the lotus lock.

Ishtar would use her strength to pull Byleth down with her into a seated position. Then the Russian would lift her legs up, looking to have them trade positions with her arms. She was careful to make sure that she didn't pull her arms away until her legs were in position to replace them fast enough to not leave an opening for Byleth to shoot away.

If Ishtar was successful in locking in her lotus lock, Byleth would find much more pressure placed on her head and neck than before, as legs were naturally far stronger than arms. And speaking of arms, since Ishtar's were now free, she would grab Byleth's arms and pull them back. This would stretch Byleth's arms and shoulders back and create even more strain on the professor's neck since it and Byleth's shoulders were being forced in opposite directions.

This would have to be it. Ishtar had the strength to put overwhelming pressure on Byleth, there was no way she could just endure this. And there was no way she could escape either. Her head, arms, and upper body were all immobilized. Byleth's legs were free, but they were no where near Ishtar, the ropes, or anywhere else that they could be useful, so what could they possibly do? Ishtar was certain. It had to be over.
