Amy Henderson vs Vamp Suzumori - Raising the Stakes

"OOF! AAF!" Vamp scored some blows to Amy's midsection and side, causing the girl to flinch in pain. She nearly lost her hold on the vampire girl in the process. But Amy knew she couldn't afford to keep giving away her momentum. Every chance she gave to the dark-haired girl, the greater possibility she had of losing. She couldn't let that happen.

So, she bared with it.

Holding Vamp where she was, she sent yet another clubbing blow to her foe's back in an effort to keep the fight-back to a minimum. Then, she would once again pulled Vamp up to her feet and turn her around, locking her arms behind her as she set the girl up for her finisher. It was now or never. Amy knew that this would utterly destroy her shoulder. She wasn't even quite sure she would be able to pull this move off in the condition she was in, but she had to try. She had to power through it, lest she be doomed to keep her losing record forever.

Despite her wild lashes managed to hit her opponent's body, Vamp didn't have much luck freeing herself. She tried to come up with another attack, but a strike to her back left her gasping and stunned, and she was unable to stop Amy from setting her up into some kind of big move.

"Guhhh..."

Vamp could feel that Amy was preparing something for her, having her arms locked behind her back. She tried to wiggle her way out, but it was useless. All Vamp could afford at the moment was to brace herself against whatever that might come next.

Setting up the double chicken-wing hold, Amy finally had Vamp right where she needed to be. She needed to finish this now. She knew that her shoulder was going to make this difficult. She knew it might make her fail. But this was the only way. Her other finisher would be impossible to do with how badly the blond was injured.

She took a big breath in and hoisted the vampire girl upwards, lifting her into the air. Immediately, the shoulder roared to life with pain. It was insane, just how badly it hurt. She was almost in tears. But she stood her ground. Her adrenaline and willpower were all that was left standing between Amy hitting this move in victory, or Amy dropping her foe in defeat.

She wasted no time showing off. With her opponent still helpless in the air, Amy began running towards the opposite corner. About halfway there, she released the double chicken-wing and attempted to slam Vamp face first into the mat with her running wheelbarrow face buster finisher: the Triple A!

Please, please don't counter this! That was the only think she had going through her mind right now.

Vamp could tell that Amy was preparing something big for her, but her current condition prevented her from figuring it out. Shaking her head, Vamp tried to regain her clarity, hoping to recover as quickly as possible. She needed to fight back in order to gain advantage over her opponent before finally defeating her.

But it seemed that her moment of clarity didn't come fast enough, and Amy completed the setup for her big move. There was no way Vamp could brace herself for it when Amy went to execute her finisher, the wheelbarrow facebuster! Vamp didn't even have enough time to yell out in response to the move when she was brought down, face first, into the mat.

"OOPGHH!!!"

The impact was tremendous. Right after hitting the mat, Vamp's body went limp. It was clear now that the move had taken a huge chunk of her strength, and at this point, Amy would be free to seize her victory. Even if Vamp could recover from this, she would need a long time for her to regain her senses, and she didn't have such a luxury at the moment.

The move landed with a BOOM! as Amy drilled Vamp face-first into the canvas. The dark haired girl went limp on the mat, but the blonde also keeled over for a moment. Clutching her shoulder, the girl in blue panted as she both tried to catch her breath and mitigate the screaming pain that her should was in. She knew that every second she spent like this was time wasted away from winning the match. But what else could she really do? At this point, she had a feeling that the darn thing could be sprained, or even dislocated!

But then, her eyes focused back to her opponent, who hadn't moved since the finisher hit. Amy reoriented herself. She hadn't endured all of this match, just to squander it here.

She began crawling over, slowly, but surely towards her seemingly-KOed foe. With only one arm to help propel her there, it took more time than she would have liked. Eventually, however, she would make it to Vamp's side. With a bit of struggle, Amy managed to turn the Vampire girl over onto her back, before barely being able to pull her own midsection over her opponent's. Due to her shoulder, there was no way she would be able to hook the leg, so she would just have to use her own body weight to keep Vamp down for the pin.

Now, it was up to fate to decide what would happen next.

Vamp was on the mat, unmoving. It was clear now that the move had taken quite a lot out of Vamp, and it was time for Amy to go for the pinfall. Though her current condition prevented her from going for the pin right away. Still, Amy managed to position herself on top of Vamp for the pin, and though she didn't lift her leg, Vamp remained unmoving, and the referee started counting as Amy pinned Vamp underneath her.

"ONE!"

"TWO!"

"THREE!"

DING! DING! DING!

And that was it. After a grueling battle, Amy managed to come out on top with a win. She had quite a few doubts as the match had progressed, but those doubts were quelled once the third count hit the mat. After a rocky start to her LAW career, this was the win she needed to breathe life into her motivation. A match that pushed her far beyond her limit, and forced her to push through a massive adversary in her injured shoulder, was the key to that.

She gingerly rolled off of her beaten opponent and laid herself down next to the girl, clutching her shoulder once again. She turned her head to face Vamp, and softly spoke her mind. "Thank you." She knew this was rhetorical. She wasn't expecting the vampire girl to hear her. Even if she did, she definitely didn't expect the girl to reciprocate with a sportsmanlike "You're welcome." But Amy didn't need to hear that. She just wanted to show gratitude to the person her helped revitalize her passion. That was enough for the girl in blue.

Vamp realized what was happening, and she had no strength left to stop it. The bell was sounded, and Amy emerged victorious over her. She remained on the mat as Amy was declared the victor, and when she heard the 'thank you' from the blonde, Vamp just huffed and covered her eyes with her arm, feeling a little sulky.

"..."

She said nothing in return. Tonight, she added another loss under her belt, and like always, defeat sure tasted bitter. She would remain there for quite some time, even as Amy made her exit. She would then unceremoniously get up and head out of the ring, planning to do better next time. And she was determined that next time she met Amy, she would be able to defeat her.
