Breaking Bread Instead of Backs: A Meeting Between Alanna Antoinette and Emma Leblanc

She took a swig from her mai thai, which helped her relax a bit. “I’ve been alternating between swimming and lounging about while day drinking. Might hang out in the casino at night…”Alanna looked to the side and saw Emma’s face scrunching up. “First time?” she laughed before realizing it probably was her first time. ”Oh ma chère, je suis désolé. Do you drink?”

Emma sighed and looked at Alanna.

"No...I never drank before...never in my life till now..."

The Canadian left a chuckle and tried to take one last sip before just putting it back to the end table with Emma's face even more scrunched up.

"Oh god...ewww..."

Alanna chuckled. ”Well I picked the wrong drink for you to start with. Let’s try something lighter, like a fruity and smooth white wine. Come on.” She downed the rest of her Mai Thai. Alanna then got up and offered her hand (and took Emma’s unfinished Mai Thai with the other. At this point she was more curious if Emma would try it than anything else.

"Oh really? Your offering me a drink? Oh you really shouldn't...hahahaha..."

Emma nervously began to laugh. But when Alanna got up and offered her hand the Canadian gulped.

'Darn it...I wish you really didn't..." she said to herself and put on a smile. She got up and took Alanna's hand letting her rival guide her to the bar.

Hand in hand, Alanna took Emma to the bar. She ordered two glasses of chilled Pinot Grigio. ”It’s a smooth and fruity white wine. Perfect for this weather. But you definitely need to have it chilled. Try it,” Alanna could see Emma was nervous and put a hand on her shoulder. ”Hey no pressure. If you don’t like it, I’ll definitely finish it,” she smiled and winked. Alanna found herself surprised at how good of a mood she was in.

Emma decided to woman up and accept the drink given to her by Alanna.she would look at her with a nod before grabbing the wine.

"I'll try it...umm...welp...here I go down the hatch."

The Canadian began to take a sip as she cringed a bit before putting on a smile...

"Yeah...tastes good there eh...yeah...definitely..."

”It’ll taste strong since you haven’t had any before. If it’s not unbearable, give it a few more sips to get used to it before you write it off.” After getting their glasses of wine, Alanna led Emma back to their seats. ”I like your swimsuit. Goes well on you,” she said. They got back to their chairs. Alanna saw that, while her chair was free, Emma’s was taken, her towel having blown off the chair.

"Oh ummm thanks...you look good with yours Alanna...really makes you look...um..."

Emma stopped herself as she was too embarrassed to say and quickly went back to trying to take another sip of the wine.

Alanna paused and side-eyed Emma as she spoke. ”Thanks… Why are you being so nice? Planning on a revenge ambush?” she asked suspiciously. They got to their chairs where Emma’s was taken by another woman. ”Well it looks like your chair next to me was snatched up. What see you going to do about it?”

"A revenge ambush? I would never do that!"

Emma looked back at Alanna when she suspected the younger woman to attack her which dosent fit the Canadian at all as she was not the type to throw sneak attacks.

When they approached back to their lounge chairs another woman took Emma's spot. Alanna wanted to see how the Candian would react, almost as if she was testing her. Emma took a deep breath and approached the woman and began to talk to her.

"Oh sorry eh but that was my spot...I was just going to the bar with my friend to get a drink...ummm...don't get mad at me...so sorry eh...I'm not trying to sound mean there...but cam I please have my spot back? Please?"
