Likes

Kendo Prodigy: While a rookie in the ring, armed with her signature shinai, she becomes devastatingly effective.
Up Close Magic: She's tried to learn a few card tricks herself but could never get a handle on the sleight of hand.
Pinned up Girl: Collecting enamel pins and decorating her gear bag with them.
Cozy Cuddling: She likes holding things while she sleeps, normally pillows but a friend might be nice too!

Dislikes

Texting Without Emojis: How else is she supposed to know the tone of the text?
Being Talked Down To: Opponents minimizing her as a threat by calling her efforts cute or adorable.
Post Match Interviews: She doesn't like performing to the camera when she is low energy after a hard match.
Being Pitied: She might not be the best, but she doesn't like being shown pity.

Personality

Hailey Cho radiates optimism. Kind-hearted, upbeat, and endlessly curious, she carries herself with the easy confidence of someone who’s rarely had to see the world at its roughest. Growing up in comfort left her a little sheltered, she isn’t spoiled so much as unaware of how privileged her life has been. When she stumbles over social cues or misreads tension, it’s rarely from arrogance; she simply doesn’t always realize what she’s walking into.

That naivety makes her a bit of a daydreamer. She wants everyone to get along, every problem to have a clean solution, and every match to end with mutual respect. When things don’t go that way, she’s visibly rattled but tries to recover with an awkward smile or a chipper “we’ll do better next time!” Hailey’s heart is in the right place, even if her head sometimes floats a few inches above reality.

There’s a streak of childishness in her too, impatient, dramatic, quick to pout when things don’t go her way but it’s never mean-spirited. She bounces back fast, laughs at herself easily, and treats setbacks as new adventures. Her friends tease her for being a little clueless, but it’s hard to stay annoyed when she beams that earnest grin and means every word of encouragement.

Asf Starlight, though, Hailey tends to be even more emboldened. As Nova Steele’s apprentice heroine, she channels her youthful energy into courage and conviction, seeing the ring as her stage to inspire. She plays the role of the plucky sidekick with full sincerity, bright poses, dramatic speeches, and a belief that hope always wins. Yet behind that glittery persona is a girl still figuring out who she really is when the lights go out.

Curious by nature, Hailey loves to explore new experiences, sometimes too fearlessly. That curiosity extends into the more adult corners of LAW’s world, where flirtation, performance, and sensuality blend into the spectacle. She approaches it with wide-eyed fascination rather than calculation, eager to understand and experiment, even if she doesn’t yet grasp the weight of it all. To her, it’s another way of learning, of growing into a fuller, bolder version of herself

History

Hailey proved more than capable from a young age. Enrolled in gymnastics classes as a child, she quickly outpaced her peers. Her natural flexibility, fearlessness, and knack for showmanship made her a standout in competitions. She thrived on the energy of the crowd, grinning through routines and adding flourishes that made her coaches roll their eyes but made audiences remember her. By the time she reached middle school, Hailey was competing regionally, winning medals not just for her precision, but for the flair she brought to every routine.

But her father wasn’t content with one arena of excellence. Believing discipline mattered more than personality, he pushed her into kendo in her teenage years. At first, Hailey resisted, but as with gymnastics, she took to it quickly. The controlled strikes, the sharp footwork, the sheer intensity of facing an opponent all clicked with her athletic instincts. By her mid-teens, she was competing in both worlds: the explosive, artistic world of gymnastics and the rigid, precise domain of kendo.

The combination gave her a rare edge. Gymnastics honed her body awareness, aerial ability, and agility. Kendo gave her grounding, timing, and a sense of measured focus. Judges and instructors praised her composure and her ability to blend elegance with ferocity. Her father beamed at her success, already picturing her future as a professional athlete or a model of discipline.

Yet for all her accomplishments, Hailey felt stifled. Gymnastics and kendo were structured, traditional, and tightly controlled, all about hitting the right marks, scoring points, or replicating form with perfection. There was no room for individuality, no space to play to a crowd in the way she craved. Hailey’s heart leaned toward performance and personality. She didn’t just want to land a routine or score a point; she wanted to dazzle. She thrived on the noise, the attention, the feeling of standing out rather than blending in.

While her family envisioned her as a polished professional, perhaps in athletics or even business, Hailey longed for a stage where she could use her talents without restraint, where her charisma mattered just as much as her discipline.

As Hailey neared the end of her schooling, she began to consider where her talents could take her next. It was then that she discovered professional wrestling in Japan. The mix of athletic spectacle, performance, and live audience connection felt like the perfect fusion of her skills and her personality. Where gymnastics demanded perfection and kendo demanded form, wrestling allowed her to combine those disciplines into something greater, athleticism with artistry, combat with charisma.

Hailey took a chance and transitioned directly into LAW’s Young Lioness Program, a developmental initiative for promising young talent. For her, wrestling wasn’t rebellion or escape it was a natural evolution of everything she had trained for: the physicality of gymnastics, the timing of kendo, and the charisma that had always made her shine.

Now performing under the name Starlight, Hailey is determined to prove herself on the global stage. She carries the polish of her disciplined upbringing, the daring edge of her gymnastics roots, and the confidence of someone who thrives in front of a crowd. To her, every match is more than a competition; it’s a chance to shine brighter than anyone else, to make sure the audience never forgets her glow.
