Backstory
Anika has always loved dancing. Ever since she was a little girl she wanted to become a famous dancer and travel the globe, by the time she was 18 she was already at least decent at every major India dance. However shortly after she graduated from secondary school her family, especially her grandmother, began becoming more and more insistent on Anika getting married. Every dinner they would show her pictures of potential suitors to see which ones caught her eye and made her send back photos of her and meals made by her to the suitors to try plus forbidding her from leaving the house without a male relative. After 6 months of this Anika’s family had found what they considered a perfect match for Anika and had them wed. The marriage was horrible for Anika, her so called perfect match was constantly yelling at or hitting her and she was very restricted on what she could do and wear but worst of all her family didn’t seem to care. Every time she complained about her marriage and partner to her family they would either ignore her or scold her for not being grateful for her husband. After a year of this Anika finally had enough and she divorced her husband, packed her bags and left her home country. After bouncing around a bit she ended up in Japan where she struggled to survive as no one seemed interested in her dancing. Dejected she began contemplating returning to India when she saw a flyer for Law’s young lioness program and decided to take a shot at it.
