Personality
One would not be wrong to ascribe a carefree and flippant personality to Getō. He rarely appears to treat any situation with much seriousness, often approaching situations playfully and finding amusement in the chaos around him. Unfortunately for others, the aforementioned chaos is sometimes something he specifically allows or facilitates, with him often towing the line between negligence and strategic recklessness.
Yet, simultaneously, Getō has somewhat of a teacher's heart. While he does not mind putting his students in tough situations, he nonetheless cares about their progression and will step in to prevent abjectly horrible outcomes. Moreover, Getō is quite shrewd as a teacher, being able to pick up on subtle points and modulate his approach to help his students improve.
As for Getō personally, Getō has an extreme level of confidence, one that is born from an accurate assessment of his own high abilities rather than an overestimation of them. In the past, this confidence had crossed the threshold into arrogance, with his meteoric rise in the world of mixed martial arts (MMA) at the time adding to his ego. However, a severe ACL tear sustained while training for ADCC forced Getō to face his limitations. This tempered his arrogance into confidence, although vestigial traces of his previous arrogance still remain.
Combat Information
At his peak, Getō's skills in MMA were sublime, with both his striking and grappling being top-notch. He was an extremely well-rounded fighter, combining the various disciplines of MMA to an end that was greater than the sum of the individual parts. Although his hiatus from competition has rendered his current execution lesser than his peak, he still maintains a high level of skill. Moreover, his time spent as a coach has improved his already strong analytical abilities towards the fight game.
When playing for a win, Getō's fighting style is highly technical and solid, even when under pressure. His footwork while striking tends to be subtly yet palpably aggressive, with him constantly making slight incursions past the edge of striking range and utilizing lateral movement to corner his opponents. The use of switch-hitting adds another layer of pressure, forcing his opponents to contend with different angles and the pressure of facing slight unorthodoxy. Getō's grappling is similarly oppressive, with him being able to masterfully utilize control tactics to set up ruthless aggression. Ultimately, Getō aims to keep his opponents feeling perpetually uncomfortable and mentally overwhelmed.
History
Getō flourished early, with his innate talent being apparent from the start. Academics, music, and athletics all appeared to come naturally to him, almost as if they were instinctual. For the first seven years of his life, it was as if he was playing on easy mode—and that bored him.
It was not until his seventh year of life that this status quo was challenged. A fortuitous wrong turn resulted in Getō and his father ending up in the parking lot of Limitless MMA, a local MMA gym. Through the front windows of the gym, Getō caught sight of people training. This piqued Getō's curiosity, and one month later, Getō began training at Limitless MMA.
However, Getō's early days training were far from the trivial breeze he had come to expect in life. Despite his innate aptitude, improving required noticeable effort and it was readily apparent that others were more advanced than him. But rather than discourage Getō, this environment galvanized him. Eventually, the combination of hard work and natural talent once again brought Getō to the top.
Getō made his professional mixed martial arts debut at the age of eighteen and quickly racked up a perfect record, all while studying physics at a university in Coral Gables, Florida. By the time Getō had graduated, he had already worked his way to top contender status in a top-tier MMA promotion, with an inevitable title shot seeming to be on the horizon. Analysts unanimously predicted that he would dethrone the current champion of his weight class, with there being next to no viable contrarian argument aside from "puncher's chance".
But peak MMA glory never materialized for Getō. Instead, a severe ACL tear sustained while training for ADCC forced Getō to take a break from competition and to transition to coaching. What was supposed to only be a temporary shift to coaching while he healed up, though, ended up becoming a calling for Getō. Getō ultimately hung up the gloves in favor of the mitts, and became a full-time coach at Limitless MMA.
Getō remained a coach at Limitless MMA for a number of years, training beginners, elite fighters, and every level in-between. For the most part, he was satisfied with his life. Yet, the pay—while more than livable—left some to be desired by Getō. Thus, between a desire for more pay and a change of routine, Getō decided to suspend his position as coach at Limitless MMA and take up a coaching job for a Japanese professional wrestling promotion known as LAW. And, through fortuitous chance, Getō also landed a position as a part-time high school physics teacher as well, further supplementing his income.

- When Minami's alcoholism first became notably problematic, Mikhail's relationship with Yuri Alekhine, his younger cousin and boyfriend to Minami, was strained.
