LAW Apex Match: Korra the Enforcer vs Amy "The Lion" Evans

Amy jumped off the ropes, got some good air time and turned perfectly. No bad back was going to screw Amy out of this move. Everything after that was a blur, she saw the ring and the ropes upside down...and she saw Korra already swinging at her. "Ngghh!" The punch caught her off guard. She didn't see it, and soon she was almost seeing stars. She fell face forward on the mat, the pain from the punch having stunned her. She didn't feel anything else, she didn't feel Korra grab her or lift her up. Even when she was hanging on her shoulder she barely felt anything that told her what would come next, in fact her senses came back at the worst time...right before she hit the mat again.

"Gggnngh!" Amy screamed. As much as she could after taking the hardest slam ever. Everything felt numb and empty, even the weight from Korra falling on her felt light even if she knew her chest would hate the extra weight. Amy's eyes were rolled back, if any cameras were on her anyone who saw her like that would think she was unconscious. And maybe they were right.

"ONE!"

Was this how it would end? Getting blindsided by a punch because she took a risk? Did she have anything at all left? She didn't think so, Korra's move hurt like hell, once you felt it, you'd never question how it could put someone away. It was the most effective use of Korra's strength and it seemed to drain Amy of hers.

"TWO!"

Sense was coming back, and that meant pain was coming back, the damage was felt everywhere. Her back got the worst of it, her neck followed after that. Her head was killing her from that punch. An effective two move combo hit at the perfect time to take out any opponent on any other day...but not this day. Amy let the pain remind her of what she was fighting for and she would quickly kick her leg out to stop that pinfall from happening!

"THR- NO!"

The ref waved it off. Just a 2 count, Amy was hurt as hell but Korra wouldn't get her win that easily. Not after the boat, not after everything.

Korra didn't count or compare her Powerdrills to one another. When they all get the job done it's not like it matters if one was harder than the other. Amy Evans had earned herself an exception and was gifted the hardest Running Powerdrill Korra ever remembered doing. She wanted Amy to feel what so many others felt before Korra finished them off and she wanted Amy to know that she was bested. She went for the pin like she did so many times and felt the same slackened weight to her muscles that she felt on every wrestler she'd defeated. The Lion was slain, Amy Evans was done and now Korra had-

Only gotten a 2 count.

The crowd jumped out of their seats watching Amy overcome a pinning maneuver Korre had never failed at. They watched Korra get pushed off Amy who had found a way to break the pin. She had no response and backed up in complete shock. For the first time Korra wasn't angry at something going wrong. She was lost. That was not a move that was ever meant to be broken up. Where does she go from here? She looked around for advice until she realized that Noloty was gone, Haruka was gone and Robin was nowhere in sight. For the first time she needed help, she needed someone to explain what just happened.

And she had no one.

Korra was sitting there in shock until the ref came in and told her she had to continue. Yes. That's right. The match wasn't over, it made no sense, but it wasn't over. Korra still had work to do. Korra still had to win. She bounced back up and would turn to pull Amy up to where she could grab her head and pull her into a rear naked choke. Something had to work. Something had to. If she couldn't pin Amy she'd choke her. It would work. It. Would. Work.

Cheers....Cheers for her, for years now fans had cheered her but that felt like it was mostly by circumstance. Amy usually fought for fun now or fought rotten people that would prefer her. No one ever cheered her for Amy. At least that's what she thought, but hearing that crowd, it was so loud it broke the clouded hearing that Amy knew it was real. And for her, maybe...maybe she could be better than she was before, at least in the eyes of the fans. While Korra could just be that much of a monster for them, for once Amy decided to just let the cheers speak for themselves. Amy glanced over at Korra and saw her looking at her, with pure shock on her face. Amy felt beaten, but seeing that face of shock on Korra? Worth all the energy she spent kicking out.

Even better while she wasn't anywhere close to full strength she know had a moment to think of something. She wasn't sure her body would follow after that move but she was going to find out one way or the other. Korra reached down to grab her, forcing her back up where she could trap her head. Amy had other plans and ducked her head low where she couldn't grab it, and when she did that she would slide back between Korra's legs and try to get behind her before elbowing one of her thighs. If she knocked that off the mat she would grab and pull the other one to force Korra to the ground before pouncing on her, Quickly Amy tried to grab an arm and pull it back so that it was over Amy's head before hooking her legs around the other, if she did both she would crossface Korra and sucker her into a Beast Bite submission hold!

"This'll work. This'll work. This'll work." Muttering to herself like a maniac. Looking slightly worried about what would happen even though Amy was hardly moving. How ridiculous did she look? Korra knew she was just shaken up by the unexpected pinfall. Once she had the rear naked choke on this would be fixed and Korra will eventually forget she was ever this worried. Amy came up with her and Korra slowly moved her hands around Amy's head when she tried to pull her head down. That won't work on her. She was going to pull her back up when she slipped back and got behind her jabbing her thigh with her elbow to make Korra hiss before pulling her legs out to send Korra down to the mat. "No! How did yo-" Amy was on her. This wasn't the time for questions! She needed to get out here! Korra tried to pull away. Tried to get up and get Amy off her. Something refused to let Amy give up. Amy had newfound strength and and purpose and she smelled an opportunity. Right now Korra was prey and smelled of fear. Her arms were peeled back while Korra struggled, for once looking foolish and trapped when Amy started to cross face her. Pulling back on her own submission that she knew was Beast Bite! "Eeeegghhh!" Korra had no choice but to scream. Her head was bent back and her arms were stretched out enough that she felt her upper body being stretched out and punished by Amy's returning power. She shook around trying to free herself from this submission and used her legs to drag herself to escape. Escape where? In a No Holds Barred match she had no exit and she knew it, the only way out was by breaking our tapping out. No. She wasn't tapping. However bad this was he could still escape. Maybe the ropes would give her the leverage to turn herself over! She told herself that this was her best chance and continued to drag herself over, she had to ignore the pain to keep going, ignore the concerns to tell herself she could still win. She had to keep going and finish this.

Amy could only pull off a half smile with how battered she felt, she looked punch drunk even on top of Korra. "I've fought through worse that body slam Korra." Amy said, she wasn't even sure if she was lying but that answer satisfied her the most. She had Korra trapped and leaned in to try and keep Korra from making any escape attempts by rolling, thankfully this hold didn't make that easy and the time on top gave Amy a a little recovery time, she had to work to keep the submission in place but Korra was working harder and it was actually hurting her. She felt them move a few inches every few seconds because Korra was desperate for an escape. Amy knew that she wasn't looking for a ropebreak, and assumed she had a plan with the outside instead. Outside was risky, but Amy had never been afraid to take those kinds of risks. Pulling tighter on the bite she waited for Korra to get close to the ropes and then she would let go and push Korra out of the ring and to the floor.

"A savage like you doesn't belong in a wrestling ring." Amy said. She think someone said that about her once before, how odd that it was coming from her now. Amy just shrugged at how fate worked and stood up before looking at the crowd then down at Korra before she took a few steps back, some could start to see what she was doing and once it looked like Korra was getting up Amy would rush off to the ropes and then come back at her. Despite being a heavyweight, Amy was going to go all out and try something they didn't see often and jumped through the ropes for a suicide dive to land on Korra.

Korra's body was being punished by this submission. She had Amy beat now she was trapped and forced to drag herself with her chest and legs since Amy had both her arms locked up. The longer it went on the more Korra picked up the pace and get her legs close to the ropes that she could try to use them to push herself back and force Amy down on her back. She got close enough and started to bring her leg out to complete it and then Amy let her go. Her temporary confusion ended when Amy shoved her out of the ring and forced her to fall on her side. Damn bitch thought she was so smart. "Grrrggh." Korra landed on her shoulder and hip when she fell and her arm went to her hip. Slowly since both her arms were hurt from being trapped like that. Her attempts to get up were slow as well and motivated by her need to escape Amy who could be on her at any moment. She heard the crowd starting to cheer some more and growled before turning towards them when she stood up. "This makes you losers happy?" Then she actually looked at them and saw most of them were eyeing the ring and she heard stomping. Oh no. Korra turned around to see a flying Amy soaring through the ropes and coming right at her. Amy had endured her best finisher and could still go for a high risk aerial attack. Korra couldn't get away from her and her arms couldn't move fast enough to protect her. Amy rammed her chest and knocked her off her feet. Both of them flying backwards until Korra hit the barricade with a roar of agony when her shoulders and back were smashed against it.

This was crazier than her Lionsault but somehow this one worked. Greater risks equaled greater rewards, and her reward was turning Korra to paste. The barricade gave a little but stopped after half a foot, meaning that all that force was put on Korra and Amy. Thankfully it was mostly Korra and her scream made that clear. Amy turned and mostly rolled against the barricade from where she was and when she stood up her back was reminding her of the damage it had taken through this match. But somehow the fans cheering her on were getting Amy back in it, little by little. She looked down at Korra, who looked like she could use some of that energy herself and grabbed her arms to force her back up to her feet before she would start to walk her towards the ring post.

"I don't know what makes them happy, but I know what makes me happy." Amy said before she would Irish whip Korra towards the post to force her to run into the metal object to keep battering her around the outside. If that connected Amy would move in and pull her back up before she would Irish whip her again, and this time into a barricade.

Korra had to try and take deep breaths, one hit after another had made breathing a pain with how the pain in her chest increased the longer she tried to breathe, but if she didn't she wouldn't get enough air to fight back. Now she needed to fight back. Now she needed to stop this from escalating and Amy getting back in this after she had her as close to dead as she had anyone in a wrestling ring. It wasn't fast enough, Amy was still moving faster than her even when her back was still hurting. She could still hold her up and whip her into the steel post while Korra could do nothing but run into trouble and slam her head into the steps. When she bounced off them she spun around and stumbled before she fell to her knees again, just in time for Amy to pull her back up and whip her right into the barricade. The only difference as that Korra could turn herself to take it on her shoulder and back. It didn't stop it from hurting her chest, only reduced the pain from another shriek to a pained snarl.

Amy winced when she whipped Korra the second time. The pain in her back wasn't going away and even though she could still move it might start to become a problem if she couldn't end the match soon. She wouldn't survive the match turning around for Korra again, she wasn't sure how she survived the first time. As much as her mind was telling her these risks weren't worth it, she had to do something and with Korra right on the barricade, Amy felt like she had to give it a shot.

Amy lowered herself and stepped back, then without waiting she would rush Korra again. This time she was much slower, but still fast enough to make her next move hurt if it connected. Then once she got closer she would jump and try to send her knee flying into Korra's chest to crush her body.

Korra’s bells were rung. The steel post almost busted her head open and after another meeting with the barricade she had to question if her ribs were going to endure this. The crowd cheering on her demise gave her a headache, leaving her to watch Amy through one eye. She still had that fire in her and she knew she still had a chance. However much like Amy had to question earlier she was left wondering if her body had the power to do it. An uncomfortable feeling for her to face. But it was undeniable that she’d made mistakes that kept Amy in this. Korra had to watch Amy getting low and watching her. Her one eye opened wide in surprise when she realized Amy was going to charge her. If she took that it would be over and slowly she tried to get her legs to move in command. They wouldn’t move even when Amy started to blitz her. Korra was paralyzed! She felt a rare moment of desperation and bit her lip hard enough to draw blood. She let the pain remind her that she was still here and still fighting and that if she wanted to keep it that way she had to move!

It was crazy and yet it worked. At the last second Korra turned and jumped; more like fell, out of Amy’s way and let her hit the barricade without Korra to cushion it for her. Korra would crawl back to get away from her and then turned around before an idea of her own formed. She couldn’t get back in this match if it continued this way. Not comfortably. So it was time she took risks! Roaring as loud as she could Korra ran where Amy was and threw her entire body into a running shoulder to slam Amy again and push her into the barricade!
