Fighting Style – A student of her master Yi Jue, Ban uses a fighting style known as the Flower Leaf Fist, a deceptively soft-looking martial art that revolves around approaching with fluid motions, deflecting and dodging strikes while moving in, and striking hard with an onslaught of hand strikes while coiling her legs around her opponent. However, she’s been trying to keep her style loose as to not be too predictable.

Strengths – Ban’s greatest strength is her calm mind and ability to think while under pressure. Even when on the backfoot she rarely loses her nerve and can keep her faculties at the direst of situations, often letting her get out of dangerous positions. Physically speaking, Ban’s an exceptional martial artist with practiced strikes that can debilitate even larger opponents, as she aims for vital points rather than throwing out hits to just deal damage and is rather flexible to help her endure submission attempts.

Weaknesses – For all Ban’s calm mind, she’s not a smart or truly tactical fighter. She has plans, backup plans even, but they are very simple and rudimentary with few being sharp counters. Her competitive nature is also very sportsmanlike, making her susceptible to underhanded tricks and cheating, though only once or twice per opponent, as she wises up very quickly. And while she’s flexible and can endure most non-choking submission attempts, she has no real defense against them, and falters when dealing with a more modern fighter that can switch up their styles.

Personality A wanderer and drifter, Jun is calm and collected at most times, if ignorant of the world outside of combat and what she’s learned from her master. Much like a child, she approaches most things with optimism,takes many things at face value and is easy to fool at first. However, most tricks only work on her once, to which then she keeps her failure in mind and tends to hold grudges on those who trick her until the grudge is paid.

In the ring, Ban plays the role of the stoic martial warrior, just as calm as she is in real life, but also following her master’s martial philosophy of treating all equal on the battlefield, going all out as a show of respect regardless of how strong or weak her opposition is, and refusing to surrender until she truly feels there is no escaping defeat.

History: Yi Jun is the adoptive daughter of Yi Jue, a martial arts master that was touring northern Japan’s wilderness for inspiration. Jun herself was originally an orphan, given to a local orphanage at birth and raised there for four years. She happened upon Jue while she was observing nature for her martial studies and Jue decided to take Jun under her wing, renaming her and letting the two travel together. At first it was as an experiment to try teaching a beginner kung fu, but Jue slowly started to like the girl and fully accepted her role as both master and mother, taking her guardianship of Jun seriously.

As drifters, the two made a living by doing a number of odd jobs and services, with Jue doing a lot of bodyguard work for businessmen, triads, and yakuza alike while Jun learned several skills both martial and practical to make a living. It was when Jun came of age that her master gave her a large amount of money and a challenge to become ten times the warrior she was then before Jue vanished. With little to market herself with, Jun decided to go to LAW, both to keep her skills sharp and to make money off her kung fu skills.

Extra Facts:

• Jun’s master left her with 4 million yen in a private account, enough to live comfortably for a little over 2 years. However, Jun doesn’t fully understand just how large that sum is and is rather conservative with her money.
• Both Jun and her master are technically members of a triad group in southern Japan, but Jun’s master has kept Jun’s ties under wraps from most people.
• Jun does, in fact, have Chinese ancestry and is half Chinese, but it’s rarely noticed.
• Jun can speak fluent Cantonese thanks to her master.
• Despite Jun’s claims otherwise, she has a large number of skills outside of martial arts such as cooking, childcare, acting, and more due to her drifter lifestyle, she just doesn’t seem them as useful most of the time.
• Jun occasionally does bodyguard work for her fellow Lightweights and some Middleweights, often dissuading more villainous wrestlers from attacking rising stars and rookies, but her prices are high for the protection.
