Barnyard Barbeque Brawl! Jess vs Bast!

Unread post by SubtleRoar »

*Having been decommissioned for far too long, The Belligerent Bull was finally about to reemerge as the most dominant force on the LAW circuit- A moniker that may seem self-appointed, but given her brutal warpath and unforgiving style of fighting, anyone she came across knew they'd be in for the fight of their lives. Busying wiggling her legs through her cowskin jeans, Jess gradually finished dressing herself for the night ahead by tossing her reinforced jacket across her plush chest, boots tied tight and menacing scowl reaching both ends of her face.* "Here's tah hopin she can keep me occupied- Still need tah get in touch with that Theresia gal and return what she did tah me in kind, but fer now...aheukheuk!" *She cackled aloud, her mind buzzing with the plethora of methods she intended to employ for whoever was bold enough to step up to the plate against her!* "I'mma tattoo my size twelve boots onto someone's hide!" *She declared, dawning her hollow cowskull headdress to instill an otherwise unobtainable degree of terror to strike fear into her unknown foe.*

*As her booming voice traveled the length of her dressing room, Jess subsequently marched down the corridor, pretending to lurch forward and cause whomever she encountered to scatter from her mere presence. This tactic was a resounding success, as miscellaneous rookies decided to keep their distance, and even turn tail entirely to avoid making extended eye contact with the crimson menace. Finally splitting the curtain, she thrust herself into the spotlight, receiving a unanimous applause from the live audience! She almost felt herself weep under her helmet, but she needed to persevere for now- She could revel in her inevitable victory, after all.*

*And as if Jess's reappearance wasn't enough, the unique design to the ring had almost everyone in attendance pondering what it meant for the impending fight- Barrels of hay lined the outskirts of the arena, and an oversized roasting spit was precariously placed directly beside the edge of the ring. Suffice to say, the spectators were in for an unforgettable treat. Once Jess made her way down the walk ramp, she ascended up the staircase before snapping her fingers, demanding a microphone. After her wish had been granted, she pushed the microphone to the middle of her exoskeleton's teeth, allowing the cheering to fully subside first.*

"Howdy y'all~" *She began, hearing the audience call her name for a few moments longer before continuing.* "S'been a while. Sorry about the hiatus- had some outside priorities that demanded my attention. But now I'm back, and as you can obviously tell, I've got somethin special in store for ya. The winnah is determined by who can get their opponent tah submit, then for added humiliation, rotate them on that there spit~" *She gestured towards said contraption, casually tossing the device out of the ring. It was finally time to see who Jess was going to pulverize into next week- in the meantime, Jess removed her helmet, setting it outside the ropes for safekeeping.*

Bast’s music began to play, but was interrupted almost immediately by the shrill, irritating sound of Cersei’s voice, as the woman came stomping out from behind the curtains. Bast emerged a moment later with her eyes rolling - though, not for the reason most might’ve guessed.

”Cut the music!” She bellowed, making a lot of noise for a woman her size. ”Cut it, cut it, cutitcutitcutitcutitcutcutcutcut!” Cersei made her way halfway down the ramp amidst a storm of boos and jeers as their music faded away, pointing at the bric-a-brac scattered around the ring. ”What is this? What is this? She muttered a few words in Arabic before she remembered herself and spoke up again

”This is an insult to my sister and I. When we signed with LAW, we were explicitly told that we would not be participating in any silly, odious gimmick matches, that Bast would be treated as a serious combatant.” She straightened and dusted off her shoulder, regaining some of her composure before she continued. ”This…this is a travesty. This is degrading nonsense. Bast is a premier, elite athlete, a future champion, and one of, if not the, greatest talents in this entire federation, and we will not - I repeat - will not be participating in this ridiculous, insipid, asinine, childish-”

”I’ll do it.”

Cersei stayed frozen, her mouth agape, as Bast shrugged and walked past her, making her way to the ring with a casual gait. All the stuff around the ring and the unique stipulations were strange, sure, but truth told, she kind of liked the change of pace. She almost never got to do stuff like this.

Granted, it wasn’t going to change her approach to things or have any bearing on how she fought. A fight was a fight was a fight, at the end of the day. Though she had to concede, she wasn’t quite sure how she was going to get her opponent on that spit…

Bast made her way down to the ring, came through the ropes, and moved to the center, ready and willing to meet her rather unorthodox opponent.

*As the tremendous cowgirl shifted her gaze towards the top of the ramp, a contrasting pair appeared, seemingly her opposition for the evening- While the vastly tinier one seemed to have some outspoken reservations about the type of fight she was getting herself into, that hardly impacted Jess whatsoever, as her gaze was fixated onto the muscular figure of beauty sauntering towards her. She quietly assumed that would be her entertainment, tracing the outline of her lips with the tip of her tongue as numerous thoughts flooded her mind. However, she was fully aware that such thoughts would only manifest as actions after she had weakened her target, and given the sheer mass and weight of said individual, it would be quite the herculean task.*

*Once the imposing woman made herself comfortable between the ropes, Jess decided to amble towards the center of the arena, her body language as gregarious as her unwavering grin.* "Howdy~" *Savoring the rare occurrence of having to tilt her head upwards to lock eyes, it was as if Jess was examining a prime cut of meat that was about to get thoroughly seared.* "Hope ya aren't too bashful about tying up with me- I'm a very...hands on type of gal, if ya know what I mean~"

*Before she was given ample opportunity to introduce herself, the familiar* "Ding ding ding!" *Sounded, informing both parties that the match was underway!* "Now, let's see what ya got, darlin~" *Vaulting towards her target, forearm jutting outward Jess would attempt to make a lasting impression on Bast with a flying forearm smash to try and send her staggering into the corner!*

Once she was done picking her jaw off the floor, Cersei folded her arms and made her way down the ramp in a huff, doing her best not to look as royally chuffed as she felt. She was usually able to reign her sister in, but, at the end of the day, there was little she could do to stop the woman when she had her mind set on something, and this seemed to be one of those rare instances. Perhaps it would be for the best - once Bast demolished this idiotically dressed woman, perhaps management would think twice about the calibre of their competition.

For now, she was content to sit on a bail of hay at a safe distance, cross her legs, and watch.

Bast, meanwhile, had other concerns. Namely, she was trying to make heads and tails of her opponent, and coming up just a little short. The woman’s outfit was, to say the least, silly, but the body it covered had some real muscle to it. While she wasn’t Bast’s size, she was close enough to it that she couldn't take it for granted. A real threat.

And no, she didn’t fail to notice the rather brusque flirting, either. She knew LAW, this sort of thing was inevitable, but that didn’t mean she would entertain it. ”I’m not interested.” Hm. Too blunt? She threw in a small smile and nodded. ”But I appreciate the gesture.”

There. She wasn’t sure if it would get Jess to ease off that sort of notion, but it was worth a try.

The bell rang soon enough, and Jess came barreling towards her, every bit as wild and dangerous as the animal she dressed as. Bast brought her arms up to block the forearm smash, but found that she wound up taking no small amount of impact, with the attack forcing her to stagger back a couple of steps. She regained her footing well short of the corner, though, and came back at Jess with her foot raised. She shot it straight out at the smaller woman’s chest, trying to hit it straight on with a push kick to create some distance.

*While The Southern Steamroller was quick to develop a strong fondness towards anything and everything gigantic and muscular, Bast was leaving a much more distinct impact on her- Specifically, there was something about the way she carried herself that the intrigued ginger found unusually fascinating. As the move connected, Jess preemptively expected Bast to remain on her feet, the tacit durability she had developed over years of extreme training unlikely to be shook by a surprise elbow to her jawline. However, the results were enough to cause the smarmy Texan to chuckle at what she witnessed, intending to follow up with a..!!!*

"GGGGUUUUH!" *Well, the best laid plans always go awry, and in this case Bast had thrown a size thirteen monkey wrench into Jess's strategy, derailing it almost entirely with a singular boot to her midsection! While not enough to keep her more than temporarily immobilized, it did allow her to fully analyze what she was up against- This level of power wasn't something she could ignore, and if she wasn't careful, could potentially get the better of her in the blink of an eye. The audience waited with bated breath after their brief exchange as Jess silently felt the gears in her head begin to whir.*

*Slouching down near a barrel of tightly bound hay, she hastily clasped it with both hands- One that the pint sized mouthpiece just so happened to be relaxing upon, before heaving it in Bast's direction!* "Here darlin, catch!" *With a brazen disregard to the wellbeing of anyone, including herself, involved in this scenario

As silly as this woman was, Cersei had to concede that she took no small amount of joy in the thought of seeing Bast lay waste to her. She supposed she had been looking at this match in a glass-half-empty sort of way, only seeing the negatives and ignoring the positives. By taking down this clown, utterly wrecking her, she could send a statement to be taken more seriously. This could be the stepping stone to better things.

And, on top of that, if she was being honest…it was rather funny seeing this oaf of a woman getting clobbered by her sister and knocked out of the ring. Even she couldn't stifle her laughter at the sight of. ”What’s wrong, cow?” She crossed her legs and leaned forward with a satisfied grin. ”Biting off more…than…”

…wait, why was she coming this way?

Cersei scrambled away with arms waving as Jess came her way and reached for the bail of hay, hefting it up with ease, just as Bast was coming her way in hot pursuit. It wasn’t exactly a hard thing to see coming, but even so, she was only just able to duck to the side at the last moment, letting the flying object pass by overhead.

With the obstacle cleared, she rushed forward and came at her opponent with a long stride. She leaped forward when she was in range and brought her leg up in mid-air, aiming a rising knee at her chest.

*The unrelenting yammering that Bast's promoter constantly spouted was enough to warrant Jess's immediate attention, and once she had finally silenced the irritable runt, she turned her attention back towards the primary threat- Namely, the hulking mass charging straight towards her!* "And if I hear ya hollerin in mah ear again, I ain't gonna be merciful on ya, got that!?" *She snarled, feeling herself beginning to lose control of her temper. As the fast approaching behemoth closed the gap, Jess raised her boot high, trying to intercept what she preemptively anticipated to be a running bicycle kick!*

*As both women clashed, the double impact sending a ripple effect from the visceral, fierce contact throughout the stadium Jess could almost taste her teeth being knocked into the back of her throat, stumbling a few inches backwards before catching herself on the ledge of the ropes.* "Gguuhh..ain't too shabby~" *She fluttered her eyes, blinking away the encroaching pain before glancing back over her shoulder, curious to see if she had managed to make a dent in the otherwise unstoppable machine she was up against!*

Bast had been coming strong, throwing her all into the knee, wanting to land something impact on her opponent - the woman might’ve been marginally smaller than her, but that didn’t mean she would be all that weaker, so it would be wise to throw out her heavier moves and pile on the heavy damage from the onset.

So she’d gone full tilt into the knee, and it connected well, doing its job. But there was a price - it meant she ate the boot even harder than she normally would’ve. It connected clean on her chin and sent her staggering back, coming just shy of smacking into the side of the ring.

Bast stumbled for a moment, nearly keeled over, only to stomp her foot down at the last second, keeping upright. She shook the dazed out of her head and focused forward, centering on Jess, then brought her fists back up in defense. Yes, that one had done a little number on her, but it would take more than that to put her down. Much, much more.

Wearier than before, a little cautious, she moved in and circled her opponent, keeping a ready eye out for her next move, not wanting to commit to anything herself just yet.

*Witnessing the stumbling leviathan struggle to catch herself from smashing into the ring corner may have reached an undesirable conclusion for the crimson crusher, but it did bring about an interesting epiphany- While Bast was extraordinarily resilient, she was also susceptible to copious amounts of damage, or at the very least, wasn't incapable of getting worn out. The only problem was, for every handful of shots Jess herself landed, Bast hardly flinched.* "Well, ain't she a rare treat~" *Jess huffed, feeling her hands tremble- Not from terror, but excitement. So many times she had to conserve her energy, to show restraint. This time, all preconceived formalities would be a thing of the past.*

"Yah know~" *Watching the monstrous woman loom over her like a long shadow, casting her presence over the southerner in an effortless showing of superiority.* "We're more alike than I'm sure you realize~" *Brushing herself off as this lull in the battle continued, Jess began spinning a grandiose comparison between herself and her foe, trying to tether the two of them together- Was this an underhanded tactic to extend the duration of her recovery, or perhaps she had developed a genuine connection with this fascinating individual?*

"We're both strongah than most- Rougher, tougher, unable to be shaken by the vast majority of whomevah we face off against." *Planting the palms of her hands against her kneecaps, Jess assumed a rather relaxed stance- Her body posture was bent forward, indicating that she might suddenly lunge forward at any given moment, but her words were a sharp contrast to her intent.* "I'll tell you what- Once I'm through with ya here, I'll be sure tah give that pesky manager of yers a call, and see if we can arrange a little meetup aftah. No sense in squandering all that potential of yers~" *She accentuated her point with a lovely wink, just daring Bast to make the first move.*

Re: Barnyard Barbeque Brawl! Jess vs Bast!

Bast could’ve charged in and brought the fight straight to Jess, could’ve tackled her to the ground and worn her out that way. There were probably a dozen ways she could’ve brought the fight to Jess effectively and definitively, ways she could’ve gone on the offense and made some significant gains.

She did none of them, however. Instead, she simply hung back and waited, never letting her gaze on Jess falter, not even for a second, while she spoke. Just waiting. For now.

The woman had some rather interesting things to say, too. Bast wasn’t much for talking in her match, much preferring to just get straight to the action and work with, but Jess had a lot to get off her sizable chest. The flirting was a surprising change, really - most often, her opponents were too intimidated to even try this sort of thing before the bell, much less when the battle was on. She wasn’t shy about her feelings, and Bast would be lying if she said it was entirely one sided. It was kind of hard to tell under the getup, but there was an attractive woman underneath it all, bursting with muscle and a sturdy form. The idea of meeting her later did appeal.

But that was a matter for another. Now was all about business. ”We’ll see.”

That was as much as she’d humor Jess right now, and she solidified her stance by plowing forward with open arms, aiming to lock up with her opponent and drive her hard into the nearest barricade. The size difference between them was small, but it did exist, and she was driven to make the most of it.
