Be it a suplexing grappler, a resiliently flexible submissionist or her bread and butter of being an exceptional striker. Past/History: Hailing from the Jiangsu Chinese province, Chun-li was brought up by her parents in one of the leading provinces in finance, education, technology, tourism, business, and unfortunately, criminality. Smuggling and corporate espionage being only one of the many festering ailments plaguing this bustling area which was kept in check by only those of resolute dedication to the law of the land, such as Chun-li’s very own father. The lawman served his beloved homeland as not only an Interpol officer of legendary renown and unwavering ethics, but a respected Tai-Chi martial arts master who trained several dozen pupils in his downtime. Although some may have felt overwhelmed living within the shadow of such a father figure, Chun-li only became that much more inspired to follow in his footsteps and earn the respect and admiration of others while guiding the next generation and fighting for their future.
Whatever roadblocks set within her path were surmounted through hard work and diligence as a valedictorian high school student who became a police detective at the record age of eighteen, despite the pleading advice from guidance counselors urging her to pursue a more academic lifestyle. Thankfully her youthful exuberance was given an appropriate outlet within her family’s dojo, which was strictly regimented and rife with various other disciples seeking spiritual enlightenment through chi manipulation, Tae Kwon Do, and other martial arts. Chun-li adapted quickly to her Father’s teachings and soon became the dojo’s star pupil with striking lethality found within her legs especially. Feats performed using them that astounded onlookers and earned her the appreciation of a certain fandom she’d prefer tempered their enthusiasm whenever in the audience of one of her sparring matches.
Eventually Chun-li’s resolute determination paid off in the form of enlisting within the ranks of the I.C.P.O (International Criminal Police Organization), also known as Interpol, working as a special criminal investigator with her father having long since retired at this point. In spite of her sterling reputation and familial heritage, Chun-li initially struggled within the organization and was regarded as a “black sheep” due to her unyielding adherence to the law when sometimes it benefited everyone in the department to operate within the shades of grey. The agency's directors deciding to send Chun-li abroad in the hope that it would broaden her horizons and make her become more flexible when it comes to law enforcement. Undercover operatives learning that Tokyo’s wrestling and fighting scenes have become untenable with certain drugs even being smuggled to China thanks to the Yakuza’s funding from these wrestling federations. A situation primed for an agent well versed in martial arts, and one which was sure to be addressed after one fond farewell to her parents and one plane ride later…

Fun Facts:
1) Chun-li is a habitual eater. When food is offered or placed anywhere within her vicinity, almost nothing will have her turn it down. Joking about those calories going straight to her thighs will earn you piercing glares. In fact, any allusion to her thighs in a mocking manner had best be perpetrated by those only ready to suffer the consequences…
2) Chun-li just so happens to be an avid Bruce Lee fan, with posters of him plastered in her room throughout her teenage years and also incorporating the same philosophies from the martial arts master throughout her life.
3) Chun-li’s mother is a musician who played the erhu within Chinese operas. It is a traditional stringed instrument that Chun-li can also play at a moderate level, and frequently does so in local parks whenever she needs to put her mind at ease and unwind a stress-filled mind.
4) Whilst in the middle of an operation involving dismantling a notorious child smuggling ring, Chun-Li came across a young girl whose parents may have become silenced by the mafia since they have yet to be found. A year spent spent caring for the precocious young one, named Li-Fen, and forming wholesome bonds eventually amounted to an official adoption by the Interpol agent who sees more of herself in the little one with each passing day.
