Personal Info
Personal Info
Once she gets more familiar with cameras...
Personality: Aroha offers a sweet demeanor and fierce intensity in separate moments. In her everyday interactions, she is unassuming and kind-hearted. Her upbringing in the close-knit Māori community has instilled in her a deep respect for others and a strong sense of humility. Aroha approaches life with a calm confidence, never seeking to draw attention to herself outside of the wrestling ring. Her friends and family know her as a dependable, caring individual who values the joys of life and the bonds people can form.
However, when Aroha steps into the wrestling arena, a vibrant, fearless side of her emerges. She transforms into a formidable competitor. Aroha's upbringing in a place with limited clothing and open attitudes towards sexuality has made her completely comfortable in her own skin. She wrestles with a carefree and playful yet intense energy. While a charming speaker, her charisma comes through more in her physicality than in her speech, making her unique style of wrestling transition well to the traditional wrestling ring.
History: A spirited girl named Aroha grew up in the confines of a traditional Māori village hoping to keep many of the old was. Aroha was a child of two worlds; her mother was a respected member of the tribe, and her father, a retiring Australian military officer, had chosen to embrace the Māori way of life after falling in love with both his wife and the community. While other girls in the village busied themselves with weaving and learning the delicate art of traditional dance, Aroha was adventurous and could be found climbing the tallest trees, racing through the forest trails, and challenging the boys to feats of strength and endurance. Her tomboy tendencies were a source of mild consternation for her elders.
Aroha's passion for physical challenges found an unexpected outlet when a group of young villagers, inspired by tales of similar setups in other countries from the small access they had to the internet, decided to set up a wrestling league. They would gather in a secluded clearing, where the ground was soft and muddy, perfect for the rough-and-tumble sport. The league quickly became popular, and Aroha, with her athletic prowess and fierce determination, emerged as one of its most dominant wrestlers. She would often go home, grinning ear to ear, covered in mud.
The wrestling matches soon became a beloved spectacle in the village. Even though the village was somewhat isolated, a few residents possessed smartphones. They began recording the matches, sharing clips online. Aroha's skills and charismatic presence quickly garnered attention beyond the village. Videos of her started circulating widely.
One day, Aroha received a message that would change her life. Representatives from the League of Anime Wrestling had seen her videos. Impressed by her raw talent and the spirited energy she brought to the wrestling matches, they extended an invitation for her to join their league. The offer was a chance to travel, to train with top wrestlers from around the world, and to make a considerable amount of money doing what she loved that she could use to support the village. It was a dream opportunity.
The decision was not easy. Aroha felt a deep connection to her village and its traditions, but the call to adventure and the chance to showcase her skills on a global stage were hard to ignore. With the blessing of her family and the village elders, who recognized the honor she would bring to their community, Aroha set off to Japan.
Extra Facts:
- Aroha can climb to the top of the tallest kauri tree in her village in under five minutes.
- She has a pet kiwi bird named Tiki that follows her around almost incessantly.
- Aroha once wrestled and won against three opponents in a single afternoon match without taking a break.
- Her only other time in front of a camera outside of her village was performing a haka for New Zealand national television. She loved being in front of a camera then, too.

Match Ideas:
MUD. Anything outdoors will suit her, though.
Her signature match is the Stripped Down to Mud Match: Both wrestlers begin in at least a strapped top and bottom, and mud is to be incorporated. The first wrestler to lose both their top and bottom and to be pinned or submitted with at least half of their body beneath the mud loses the match.
