Wrestling Style Breakdown: Ria's wrestling style could best be described as hardcore highflying. She's got a few holds at her disposal, but she's more likely to brawl than anything else. She prefers no holds barred matches, the more extreme variety especially tickling her fancy. Ria is relentless when on the attack, rarely stopping unless forced to do so by an opponent. She's quite reckless, willing to put her body at risk to cause damage to her opposition. Her speed and agility help her in that regard. Ria also always seems to be thinking, rarely finding herself caught off-guard for more than short periods of time. With all that said, the hardest part when it comes to wrestling Ria is keeping her down for a three count. She has top notch durability and endurance, meaning it's going to take quite a bit to wear her down.

History: The history of Ria Nightshade is rather murky. Ria herself isn't much help in clearing it up, as she seemingly invents new stories any time she's asked. There are three stories she seems to cycle back to most often...
1) She grew up in Hell's Kitchen, NY. Both her parents were drug addicts. They were both abusive, both towards Ria and towards each other. She was in their care until the age of ten, at which time the state took custody of her. She bounced around foster homes, due to her behavior as well as a broken system in which she was more a tax write-off than an actual family member. She ran away at the age of sixteen and lived on the streets, prostituting herself on top of competing in underground cage fighting. She was eventually noticed by a wrestling promoter at one of these fights. She trained and made the transition to wrestling.
2) Ria grew up somewhere in rural Pennsylvania to loving parents that treated her like a princess. Things were great until the age of twelve. Her father caught her mother having an affair, killing her before committing suicide. Ria was to be sent to live with her grandmother on her father's side, who she had a rather poor relationship with. She instead ran away, begging on the streets and doing what she could to survive. She ended up in Philadelphia, where she became a drug runner for whoever would pay her. After seeing death numerous times, being carted into the police station time and time again and going in and out of rehab, Ria decided to go straight; wrestling seemed as good as any job to do so in.
3) Ria lived a perfectly normal life; she's just messed up because she is.
Regardless of the past, Ria Nightshade has clearly had some wrestling training. Whether her twisted views were brought on by physical and psychological trauma, or entirely self-manifested, they are there. Maybe some day, the real truth behind who Ria is and what happened may come to light. Until that time, she may as well have had no past at all.
Personality: Appearances can be deceiving and this is certainly the case with Ria Nightshade. At first glance, she comes off as cute, innocent, maybe even sweet. Underneath that façade, however, is a very dangerous and sick woman. That becomes apparent quickly while talking to her. Ria is quite condescending, though she makes sure to splash in liberal amounts of flirting with her attitude. Her speech patterns are off-putting. She more cackles than laughs. Even then, Ria comes off more as creepy than sociopathic... At least, until she gets into the ring.
In the ring, Ria is vicious. She attacks as often as possible, with anything possible. She treats rules more as suggestions than actual concrete guidelines. She has two main contributors to her manic in ring style. The first is her utter distain for the human race. She's seen enough, heard enough and been through enough to feel that good people are a rarity. Humans are, at their core, selfish. People do good things not because it's right, but for some sort of gain. It could be a return favor, praise, money, there's almost always some sort of ulterior motive behind a good deed.
The other factor is that Ria derives pleasure from destroying beauty. Being pansexual, there's very little limit to who or what she could consider beautiful. To her, pain is far more intimate and real than love. People throw the word love around all the time, after all. But pain, agony, there is no faking that. She's more than happy to receive as she is to give. It's not intimacy if it's not shared by another person. Sweat, tears, blood, these are signs of something so much greater than a flimsy four letter word.
Ria does have some quirks most wouldn't expect. She has a soft spot for those less fortunate; homeless, orphans, abuse victims and such tend to receive much gentler treatment from her. She enjoys and respects critical thinking. Despite the way she treats people, Ria is quite the social butterfly. She's a caffeine and nicotine addict and doesn't really care if either bothers or offends others.
