Spoiler
Kimi carries herself with a relaxed, teasing confidence, often wearing a knowing smirk as if she’s in on a joke no one else quite understands. In the ring she enjoys playing with her opponents as much as defeating them, treating wrestling almost like a game of wit and reflex rather than pure aggression. She frequently jokes, prods, and tests people’s reactions, using humor and playful arrogance to keep others slightly off balance. However, when pushed too far, the playfulness fades. Instead of exploding with anger, Kimi grows quiet and observant, studying the situation with a calculating patience that hints at the harsher world she came from.

That restraint comes from her upbringing within the Yakuza, where she and her sister Kuni were raised in an environment devoid of affection. For most of their childhood, the sisters relied only on each other. When they were thirteen, they were taken in by Aya, who had originally intended only to train them. Over time, however, the responsibility of guiding two traumatized teenagers through adolescence softened Aya, and she gradually became a genuine maternal figure to them. Experiencing that care for the first time profoundly shaped Kimi. It gave her the freedom to express a lighter, more playful side of herself, even while the instincts from her past remain close beneath the surface. She and Kuni both see Aya as their true mother, and Kimi’s loyalty to her is unwavering. At the same time, her upbringing left lingering habits—she is still uncomfortable accepting gifts or kindness, instinctively suspicious of generosity because she was raised believing that nothing in life ever came without a cost.

Lore:
Spoiler
Kimiya Masataka and her twin sister Kuniki were born in Tokyo, Japan, though neither of them remembers much about their earliest years. What little childhood they might have had disappeared quickly after they were taken in by a Yakuza group that saw potential in raising the girls within its ranks. From a young age they were taught discipline, obedience, and how to fight—not for sport or recognition, but as tools of survival and control. The twins grew up in an environment where affection was rare and trust even rarer. Their bond with each other became the only constant in their lives. Kimi, the more expressive of the two, developed a sharp tongue and a habit of masking tension with teasing humor, while Kuni grew quieter and more reserved. Together they learned to navigate a world where every favor carried a price and every kindness hid a transaction.

By the time the twins reached their early teens, they had already become useful to the organization that raised them. Their natural athleticism and ability to work together made them effective in physical confrontations, and the Yakuza began shaping them into reliable enforcers. It was during this period that their lives changed unexpectedly. During a wrestling tour in Japan, Aya Al-Amari encountered the girls and recognized both their talent and the unhealthy environment they had been raised in. What began as a decision to take them on as trainees slowly evolved into something far more personal. Aya had initially intended only to train them, seeing potential wrestlers who could benefit from her resources and discipline. But as she became responsible not only for their training but also for guiding them through adolescence, her attitude toward them softened. Over time she removed them completely from the influence of the organization that had raised them and brought them into her care.

For Kimi, the change was both liberating and confusing. Aya was the first adult to provide structure without fear and expectation without punishment. Kimi responded by gradually allowing more of her personality to surface—playful, mischievous, and fond of provoking reactions from others just to see what would happen. Wrestling, which had once simply been another form of combat training, became something closer to enjoyment. The ring gave her a place where fighting had rules and where attention came from performance rather than intimidation. Still, the instincts from her childhood never completely faded. When tension rises, Kimi’s joking demeanor disappears and the calculating patience she learned growing up returns immediately.

Despite those lingering habits, Kimi’s loyalty to Aya runs deeper than anything else in her life. Both she and Kuni see Aya not merely as a mentor, but as the mother they never had. At the same time, their upbringing left subtle scars. Kimi still struggles to accept generosity or praise without suspicion, instinctively wondering what will eventually be asked in return. Yet the life Aya gave her also allowed something new to grow—a sense that she could fight not because she was ordered to, but because she chose to.

Now Kimi goes wherever Aya does, following her adopted mother almost everywhere without hesitation. To Kimi, Aya is more than just a guardian—she is her mentor, her guide, and the person whose approval she values above almost anything else. This devotion would eventually come to a head when Aya decided to join LAW after learning that Julia and her daughters, Nix and Kara, had also enlisted. Refusing to be left behind, Kimi followed Aya into LAW as well, stepping into the organization at her side. More than anything, she was determined to prove that the lessons Aya had instilled in her—and in Kuni—had truly taken root, and that everything Aya had taught them would not go to waste.

Relationships:
Fun Facts:
  • Kimi's favorite type of sushi is Sashimi, but Kuni hates it.
  • Her favorite baseball team is the Yomiuri Giants.
  • Kimi's tattoos aren't actually permanent. They're actually temporary tattoos stickers that she uses as part of her gimmick.
  • Kimi is, unsurprisingly, awful when it comes to flirting. Aya did not teach her or Kuni how to talk to boys.
  • Aya told Kimi that Nixanne was her rival. Kimi sees Nix as her rival, despite having never met.
  • She claims that she can do a triple axel while figure skating. Kuni says she's lying.
  • Kimi and Kuni once beat up a man who took a sneaky picture of Aya. Police later found him bloodied up underneath a bridge.
