Wrestling Strategy: Almost brand spankin' new to the ring, Lucy's tactics boil down to "do what seems best in the given situation" and a reliance on her bright mind. Tending towards aggression, Lucy throws her body into opponents during periods of striking, relying on clotheslines, lariats, and shoulder charges to knock an opponent to the mats while bouncing between the ropes. While stronger than most women her size, she cannot easily lift above her weight, so she not attempt power moves unless given the perfect opportunity. Though not eager to climb the turnbuckle, Lucy will do so if an opponent drives her close and the opportunity presents itself. Her preference is to keep an opponent on the mats, relying on various submission moves, some of them quite creative, to put a hurting on opponents.
Favored/Signature Moves:
Superkicks
Clotheslines
Body Avalanches
DDTs
Figure-Four Headlocks
Crossfaces
Finishing Move/s:
A Whiter Shade of Pale: A variation on her mom's old finisher, since she used it on Lucy once and it hurt like hell. Lucy will bounce from the ropes, plant both feet into the opponent's face or chest to down them, and follow with a very painful matchbook submission/pin like here.
Personality: A curious dreamer, Lucy regards her coming wrestling career with a great deal of optimism and passion. This may hide a twinge of worry that she may not live up to her expectations, but as with other challenges she has faced in her life (most of them small), Lucy plans to conquer her fears with a great deal of motivation and bravery. At times, she may become too keen on diving into the deep end of the next step of her life, or the next friendship (as she has an addiction to meeting exceptional strangers and attempting to befriend them), and fail to take the time that she truly requires to consider her actions and her feelings about a situation. As such, she is no stranger to needing several boxes of tissues nearby when all does not go as she wants.
Despite her typically cheerful attitude, her patience will wear thin, revealing a potent, fiery temper that produces reactions ranging from stewing and yelling at the subject of her ire to explosive action. On the other side of the equation, Lucy will be a loyal, lifelong friend to even those who might get on her nerves from time to time. Similarly to her care for her passions, she cares dearly for her friends, and would, in wrestling terms, dive into any ring to help them or protect them in a time of trouble.
She acts with a great deal of determination that extends to the ring, but that determination does have its limits. When she reaches those limits, she becomes very vocal with her complaints. However, in the most desperate of situations, she has keen focus on doing her best to represent her mother's good name in the wrestling ring. She would never touch a dirty move, but highly aggressive and painful ones remain on the table. Her mother was not a soft woman, after all, and Lucy, despite wanting to be her own person, looks to follow in her footsteps. Two particular character weakness she carries into the ring...Lucy has very strong, confused reactions to sensual acts in the ring, despite being a flirt outside of the ring herself, and she has unfortunately clumsy feet both in and out of the ring due to being too deep in thought/ire sometimes when she should be focusing on what she's doing...or stepping on.
History: Lucy White's sometimes "boring" life as a higher-class A student and cheerleader came to a partial end when a fellow student one day asked her, "Is your mom the Sherry White?" Lucy had no clue what he meant, blabbering on about her mother's short, if memorable, career in the late 80s and 90s in the wrestling ring. Lucy, incredibly curious, investigated the matter that evening, and soon she found it, a motherload (literally) of her mother, looking fabulous in still photos and video clips as she bent women in various shapes and postured for the crowd. In awe and surprise, Lucy asked her mother to tell her all about it and explain why she had kept her past under wraps, and the family had a lengthy conversation that night, with her mother clarifying that she had not wished to imposed any legacy upon Lucy, since her daughter didn't appear to have any interest in martial sports, and that she had quit when she had become pregnant with her and her brothers.
That much was true, but as Lucy looked into the subject of her mother and her legacy with more depth...her interest deepened. Soon she became rather obsessed with what she saw of her mother, basically a toned, charismatic goddess in her eyes, and she decided that she wanted to be a part of this world where women could entertain and enjoy the thrill of combat, rivalry, and comradeship. At first, she began to train quietly, trying to work her slender, curvy body into one more like her mother's, feminine and strong. Then she realized she had no clue what she was doing, and asked her mother for help. Genetically, Lucy was not a match, and her mother's gentle guidance did not shape her body into a perfect wrestling specimen. But Lucy was determined, and she worked relentlessly, giving up her cheerleading to try and wrestle on her high school team to some success.
Her mother finally agreed to train her properly, but to a limited extent. If Lucy was going to pursue her dream, she needed to learn her own way. But the few months of spars and practice that they shared, Lucy learned a great deal that gave her even more passion. She started wrestling locally, having middling success, but she slowly became better, learning more about the local opponents and determining how to defeat them. However, balancing college and this career dream, it was looking more like college would win out...until an old friend of her mother's put in a good word with LAW, that they should hire Lucy. In a whirlwind, Lucy found herself whisked in for a tryout, and though she was not exceptional, her talents (and her name, unbeknownst to her) were enough to earn her a contract. Thrilled, she moved to Japan, not realizing that her mother had her worries about her daughter's coming career.
Facts/Quirks:
- Lucy is an excellent writer with minimal confidence in her writing skills.
- Thanks to having easy access to money and a doting mother, Lucy is one of those women with an absurdly full closet, and shoes are one of her primary addictions.
- Lucy is adept at riding horses, and one of her biggest concerns moving away from home was the thought that she would rarely have a chance to do so anymore.
