Joan is rather shy and socially inept as she had struggled to make friends. However she has an strong moral compass, and won't be easily pushed aside or convinced to not stand her ground when she feels something is wrong or evil.
Past/History:
Joan would grow up a happy child even if she would wish that her parents would dress more normally. Since they pretty much dressed like what you think of when the word hippie comes to mind.
Worse was that they tried to make her dress the same when she was young. Which led to the other kids making fun of her, and as a result when she grew older she began to dress more normally. Since she did her best trying to fit in, but her upbringing combined with her natural shyness made her an rather awkward child to be around as for most of her life she was considered an outsider.
Luckily she did find a friend or two during the yearly trips her parents took her on as they met up with fellow hippies. It was here that she would meet her first crush as the Welsh girl was gorgeous in Joan's opinion. Combine that with the fact they were the only two girls who were the same age, and they naturally would grow close.
It was with her that she would share her first kiss, and more as the two explored with each other as they got older. One day during a trip in her teen years, Joan would be taught about the only fighting style that her mom was comfortable with. Since it was a style all about love and respect in the woman's eyes as she, and her friend would be taught the art of sexfighting, tribbing, titfighting and others. Mostly just watching their moms and the other mature woman show them how it went, and then practice against each other. As she grew older she would also spar with the older women, and it was during these periods that she felt the most happy.
Since school sucked, and unlike the woman she met during those trips the girls her own age were just terrible in her opinion. So she would gravitate towards animals as she loved taking care of them as she would find a part time job at an animal care center.
Still school just sucked, and the moment she could Joan would drop out. At the time she felt it was the best decision she would ever make. However, trying to find a job with just a high school education was not easy. Since most of those jobs sucked or were short term as she struggled to make a living.
Then one night she would find her old friend walking about in a nearby town as the two would catch up. When it became night, Joan would have said her goodbyes as she expected them to go about their way. Only to be asked if she wanted to see her work as the redhead wondered what she meant with that.
Still not having anything better to do, Joan would accept as she would follow her friend towards 2hat she assumed was an abandoned building. As the exterior looked like it was breaking apart only to find that when they went inside, and down to the basement that it was a night club of sorts. Her friend would leave her to sit around an square in the middle of the room, and when the entertainment happened she could not believe her eyes
As different women would come down to what she learned was a ring, and compete in sexual fighting. Her best friend was even a champion at this club as she was told this was a female exclusive establishment, and held these fight nights on Tuesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday while also learning how much money she could make fighting here.
After the show, Joan would eagerly talk with her friend as she asked if she could work here as well. Her best friend would get excited, and told her that she would put in a good word with the boss.
A woman of about 50 who did not seem convinced that Joan would fit in. Her whole presence seemed to scream shyness and anxiety while even saying that she fully expected the redhead to be eaten alive if she were placed in the ring.
Only to be talked into it by her friend, and when she was given a chance the woman would quickly chance her mind. Yes the redhead would never be a social butterfly, but she could go in the ring as Joan even became a fan favorite as for the next 4 and half years she competed.
Usually for the top championship as it would bounce between herself and her best friend. Still things were getting stale, and the friends knew this. Their coworkers knew this as one of them would have to leave as the old woman would set up a loser leave town match.
That match was one of the best she ever had, but in the end she would be defeated after a battle that lasted 2 hours. The both of them were spent, and as they hugged each other she was told the news. Since while the loser would leave it did not mean she was out of a job. No the old woman had gotten the loser an job in Japan as Joan would gather up her courage to go as she did not think things could be that different in this LAW place right
