QUEEN OF THE RING, LADY VIC

Image

Full Name: Victoria Jessamyn Faraday
Date of Birth: March 18
Height: 6'2”
Weight: 230 lbs.
Build: Large framed, thick at the hips, busty and broad-shouldered
Physicality: An experienced powerhouse, who isn't as fast as some of the younger wrestlers but compensates with confidence and aggression
Hometown: Blackpool, England
Entrance Theme: “We Will Rock You” by Queen

Background: The woman known as “Queen Vic” is a veteran of the wrestling industry. Like a fine wine, she tells people, she's only gotten better with age. Brought into the business by her late husband, Mickie Faraday, “Mick & Vic” spent years brawling their way through the British wrestling scene. While Mickie was popular on the widely-watched “Sporting World” television program, Victoria was considered by many to be a fixture of the independent scene, the only place where a woman could get a match in those days. She also toured Japan a few times, locking horns with some of the legendary female wrestlers there.
Vickie put on the pounds after her daughter Gemma was born, which brought about a change in “Lady Victoria.” Developing into a domineering, larger than life persona, “Queen Vic” became a terror of the wrestling world, even while being a happy family woman back home. For several years now, following Mickie's passing, Vic has been continuing to dominate opponents while running her husband's old, small promotion, Blackpool Wrestling Association.

Training & Style: Trained by Mick Faraday himself, Vickie has spent years honing her craft. Putting on weight only added to her repertoire, taking Vickie from being a competent and crowd-pleasing all-rounder to a straight up powerhouse. She'll eagerly dominate opponents with brute force, taking great joy in humiliating them in front of the fans, her primary tactic being to overpower her opponent, then start piling on the humiliation while keeping them from getting up!
Experience: Ten years in the ring, and a year training before that.
Signature Moves: The German Suplex, Tree of Woe, the Boston Crab, spinebuster, lariat, superplex, numerous powrbomb variations- anything that lets her show off her strength.
Specialty Move-
Coronation Street- Queen Vic doubles over an opponent, tucks her arms behind her legs, and pulls them up to that their body is trapped against her, legs spread eagle and hanging upside down. Vic then parades them around the ring, showing off her victim's pitiful state. Then, Vic pulls them up, and slams their back ruthlessly into the mat.
Brexit Breaker- Queen Vic hoists a vulnerable opponent up onto her shoulders, then cranks their head and leg until their nearly kicking themselves in the skull! After this, Vic hoists them up and over, bringing them down spine first onto her knee for a brutal backbreaker.
Favorite Matches: Victoria loves to work matches against women a weight class or two lower than her. Many call this unsporting, or even cowardly, but the self-styled Queen of the Ring only knows that she draws a big crowd that hopes to see the underdog unseat the dominant queen. And even when that doesn't happen, what does she care? She already has their money ...

Attitude: Cocky and aggressive, Vickie takes a “get the job done” attitude with everything she does. She'll strut and preen over a dominated opponent, but she won't let that take time away from brutalizing her foe and winning the match.
Vickie also loves to antagonize the crowd. A true heel, Queen Vic loves to tease and taunt the fans, knowing they'll buy a ticket in hopes of seeing her put in her place. Vic continues the act (if it even is that) backstage and on the road as well, confident enough in her size and experience that she doesn't expect anyone to even try to put her in her place.

Crowd Reaction/Fan Base: Heel; Vickie has some fans, but mostly the sort that just like seeing the younger and prettier wrestlers she faces get squashed. Mostly, the fans buying tickets to her matches are just looking to see the Queen dethroned!

Titles Held: Blackpool Women's Champion; multiple-time Page Five Girl
Career Highlights: Beating previous champion Milly Manchester so badly that she retired from the ring shortly thereafter, never even getting a championship rematch; getting to suplex cheating heel Archie Valiant to help Mickie Faraday win the Sporting World UK Middleweight Championship
Wrestling Ambitions: At this point, Vic is just trying to make as much money as she can, and hold onto her title long enough to retire with it. Additionally, however, she's got a bit of an urge to redeem the family name, seeing as what Gemma's been doing with it ...

SOCIAL GROUP
Partners, friends, etc: “There was my Mickie, and my good for nothin' daughter for a bit, but the Queen don't need anyone but the Queen.”
Favorite opponents/rivals: “Loved squashin' my little girl a couple times, folks pay out the nose to see that one! Makin' Milly tap out of the whole business, that was a good one.”
Most feared/hated opponents: “Really, any time they put me in the ring with some pretty young thing that don't know any better, that doomed little idiot becomes the person I hate most in the world!”
Biggest Win: Gettin' the Blackpool Women's Championship, that brought some cash. And when Mickie won the UK Middleweight, he always said it was my win, too. 'Couldn'ta done it without my Lady Victoria,' he always said.”
Worst Loss: “Any time Lisa Rampart managed to steal one from me. But, who's laughing now, eh?”

Trivia & Fun Facts:'
- Queen Vic is old enough to be considered a pioneer in UK women's and mixed wrestling, having worked some of England's earliest intergender matches. Many of the younger generation of UK wrestlers could very well recognize her.
- Still running Blackpool Wrestling, Vic sometimes brings younger wrestlers along when she travels. This serves to give her some muscle to show off, as well as giving them a chance to see the business from other angles.
- An old-school 'carny,' Queen Vic is not above gimmicking her matches: slipping a razor blade into her wrist tape, putting a small weight in a knee pad. “All part of the show,” she tells people.
- Victoria was a successful model for years before the birth of her daughter, and had at one time planned on retiring from the ring to focus on that. Part of her still harbors some resentment.
- Vic's absolute favorite show is the soap opera Coronation Street, and she hasn't missed an episode in decades. Traveling, she'll use streaming services (legal or otherwise) to keep up, and has even pushed back matches to catch her program.
