Personality:
Silent, and always focused on whatever she is doing. Akane is always the type to focus on the task at hand and everything else is secondary to her. Though she is in inherently mean and even tries to be polite if she can help it, her resting face comes across as cold and unfeeling. It doesn't help that she doesn't get much joy out of winning matches as she feels like people watching are constantly judging her for her victories, giving her a sense of being self-conscious. Despite how long she has been fighting for, she feels like her strength and her natural talent for fighting makes any victory she has feel unearned. Even the close victories she has will be chocked up to her just naturally being better.
Its her self hatred of her talent that is why she much prefers to lose and will sometimes push matches against her favor so that either she won't feel like she's being judged when she does win and she also can eliminate that factor of natural talent that she has. If she still wins even when fighting a match that is not in her favor then she can at least have a chance at believing that she was the one that earned the victory. Though this strategy doesn't really work since if she loses, it would leave her questioning whether nerfing herself was a good idea.
She particularly loves video games because it artificially puts both players on the same level of talent and she doesn't have a natural talent for video games. Fighting games in particular get her blood pumping and while she has always loved video games, she now uses them as an escape from the reality she struggles in.
Finally, she is capable of fighting through a whole group of people easily, she cannot fight through a social situation for the life of her. Treading over words carefully and knowing how to maneuver a conversation is her weakest spot. She will either say the wrong thing, or not know what to say at all. She has the social skills of a walnut, a result of her gaming addiction and her constant fighting training.
Backstory:
Her childhood, her parents always expected the best from her and Akane usually always delivered. By the age of four she was put into every form of martial arts naturally available and she was always fighting against ages of kids two years above her. By the time she was seven, she would have a black belt in Karate, Jiu Jitsu, and taekwondo.
Her parents were also celebrated fighters who performed in the olympics multiple times. In fact, facing against each other was how they met. Because they were so well-known, it was genetics that most kids used to explain Akane's natural talent for fighting and held that above her head throughout most of her life, isolating her from any social groups. Being isolated socially lead her parents to dedicate more of Akane's life to fighting and excercizing until she was already fighting professionals in her teenage years.
Even the adults would amount her success to her genetics and when she had reached adulthood, she would finally understand what real defeat was like when she had a promo match against a particularly powerful wrestler LAW. From that day on, she became addicted to LAW and in fear of history repeating itself, she would start to push some fights against her favor by purposefully taking devestating hits or doing other things in secret.
During her starting career, her cold attitude and uncaring personality actually allowed her to generate a moderate fan base. Some people enjoy being given the cold-shoulder. That doesn't mean she wasn't a pain in the ass for her managers though. She had gone through about three different due to purposefully losing matches when she thought she was getting too popular. This would be until she came across with the manager that she has now who made a bet that she could change Akane for the better in a few years for a couple thousand dollars.
