The crowd was truly excited tonight, the stands bustling with activity. One of the matches slated for tonight was a bout between one of the household names of LAW-- an established veteran who had, for the longest time, reigned as the undisputed heavyweight champion-- and a rising up and comer. Even though she was no longer the heavyweight champion, Alaina Sanders was still a name that commanded respect in the LAW roster, for she was still an experienced powerhouse with a long tally of victories to her name. Karen Gale, for her part, had a growing reputation of her own, showing herself to be both strong and headstrong, fearlessly taking on anyone, no matter their size, power, or level of experience. And all too recently, she had gone head to head with "JJ" Janella Johnson at We Are LAW 8, narrowly losing after an incredibly close match.

And now, these two powerful ladies would be going head to head.

Before long, the first of the competitors arrived.

The Maori's entrance was met by a chorus of cheers from the crowds as she stood on the walkway, wearing a New Zealand All Blacks t-shirt over her ring gear while Nagual’s signature haka trap remix blared around her. Posing in front of the Titantron while the fireworks exploded around her, Karen strode resolutely down the ramp, enthusiastically hi-fiving fans while eagerly lip-syncing the blared haka lyrics. The sheer enthusiasm of the crowd always invigorated her; it always gratified her that some small-town Kiwi girl like her could get cheered by a crowd an ocean away from home.


“Our first competitor, standing at five-foot-six and weighing one hundred and fifty pounds…from Dunedin, New Zealand…KAREN GAAAAALE!”

Sliding into the ring, Karen eagerly hopped up onto the ring and dropped to her knees, arching back to raise her arms to the crowd, basking in their cheers. Finally, she stood back up and, peeling her shirt off, stepped back to the center of the ring, waiting to for the Amazon to arrive. She had fought hard to get a match with Alaina Sanders: even though the Amazon was no longer the heavyweight champion, to Karen it didn't matter: she was Alaina Freaking Sanders. She needed a match against the former champion, and needed to test herself against one of the very best ladies in the league. After going head to head with JJ in We Are LAW, she needed a win, but more importantly, she felt all the more confident that she could hang with the very best LAW had to offer.

Alaina had been working her way back onto the horse after losing her LAW Heavyweight Championship but she was on a bit of a hot streak. She was wearing her two piece tiger print attire tonight and feeling quite confident. She knew Karen was a strong, tough, fast woman. She could do it all in that ring but Alaina was not going to be deterred. She knew what to do to win and had proven it not just here but throughout her whole career. She could go out there, wrestler her game and walk away with a win.

Alaina soon came out as her music played and the crowd roared. She flexed at the top of the ramp and was all smiles, strutting her way to the ring. She had a bit less hip sway these days but it was still there as the now 51 year old still cut an impressive figure. She was looking at Karen the whole time she walked down though. She had a lot of muscle, stood there with confidence and looked like quite a challenge. Alaina was going to show her why even at her age she was still a force between the ropes.

Alaina slid into the ring and stood up doing a final flexing pose and wink for the crowd before settling into her corner looking over at Karen and smiling. She was more than ready tonight and she could tell that Karen was as good as advertised.
