Kate was stretching backstage, waiting for the prior match to end before her next bout. She was quite excited to be coming back to LAW more often, the audience for pro wrestling was different from other combat sports, and the reception fighters were getting here, which used to put her on edge when she was new, nowadays she found it quite invigorating. And she figured today they'd be particularly lively with the arrival of new talent that Kate herself would have the honour of testing in her first match, though she did not know much about the woman she was about to face. Finally, the prior wrestlers made it backstage, and she was pointed towards the entrance as her music began to play.

Entrance Music:

"Following contest is scheduled for one fall! Introducing first, from Dallas, Texas! Standing at five feet and seven inches and weighing in at one hundred and sixty-nine pounds! Katarzyna Zawiślak!"

Bursting onto the scene, Kate would throw her fist up, before hyping up the already cheering crowd to get louder, something that not that long ago would mortify her to even think of doing before she'd then head down the ramp, stopping for a moment as she noticed a family near the ramp hoping to get a photo and posing for with them before giving high five to the kid and making her way to the ring. climbing the steps and making her way across the apron, pausing to point towards the entrance before slipping between the ropes and awaiting her opponent's arrival!

So the day was finally here, her long awaited LAW debut. Raya sat on a bench backstage, her eyes closed and her back against the wall. She breathed in deeply and stared down at her trembling hands, even now she still hadn’t gotten over these pre match nerves, but soon she’d be out there having no time to think or worry.

She thought back to her aunt’s ridiculous comments, imploring her to start with the young lionesses instead of leaping onto the big leagues without being ready. The thought of that made her teeth grit and her fists clench as she started taking more deep breaths. She’d show her, she’d show them all, by beating Kate tonight. It would be a massive statement of intent, showing her arrival and putting everyone on notice. It wouldn’t just be a victory, it would be total annihilation, she was sure of it. Everyone after today would know who Raya Ashberry was. Anything other than that result was inconceivable.

When it was at last time for her to make her way up there, she got up and started walking towards the arena, picking the pace up little by little until she had almost sped up to a jog, but made sure to still be walking in order to not make a fool of herself, especially for her first impression.

As soon as Raya stepped out into the arena, she was blinded by the lights and drowned out by the crowd’s noise. She had never before been placed in such a crowded environment. She again tried to keep calm by focusing on her breaths, but then gave up and would simply rush forward, aching to get into the ring. Raya could feel the stares of everyone around her as she walked up the ramp, but focused on nothing but the path as she beelined straight to the ring.
Once she slipped in between the ropes, she would try to make eye contact with Kate as she smirked in a smug fashion, trying to mask up the fact that Kate’s body at a close up was more jacked and intimidating then she’d prepared herself for.

“And secondly, from Toronto, Canada, standing at five feet and ten inches and weighing in at one hundred and sixty three pounds, Raya Ashberry!”

“You know, Kate, I kinda feel sorry for you, given the fact that you have the privilege of being my first victim here…” She said in an arrogant tone, hoping to get a rise out of the other woman in the ring before her.

Kate watched carefully as her opponent made her way onto the stage and inside the ring. From how she entered, she figured that she would not be a particularly outspoken person, but she could respect that; then, however, the woman spoke, prompting Kate to raise an eyebrow. "Those are gonna be your first words in LAW, huh? Not very original." She said, looking almost disappointed to be dealing with another loudmouth, then she pushed off from the corner and walked to the centre of the ring. "You wanna try that again, or do we get into the part when I teach you how flinging empty threats ain't worth much?"

After saying that, she'd give her arms one last long stretch, waiting for her opponent's response before the bell would ring. She would not move from where she stood, though, keeping a relaxed stance, only extending her left arm and gesturing Raya forward, as if to dare her to come at her with all she had. Really, she was hoping someone with an ego like that would get easily provoked by such a dismissive behaviour and was prepared to spring to action at any second!

“There’s a big difference between a threat and a promise, and I’m going to show you that difference over the course of the match!” Raya replied without missing a beat.

Despite the cockiness in her words, as soon as the bell rang and Kate made that gesture, Raya immediately flung herself forward, feeling disrespected by it, completely unaware of the fact that she was now playing right into her opponents hands by allowing her emotions to get the best of her, especially when the match had only just begun. Allowing herself to get goaded by other people’s actions and letting them dictate how the match went was by all accounts not the best way to start things off in her first ever appearance, but still she charged straight at Kate right off the bat, attempting to grab her and pull her down to the floor by outmuscling her.

Despite leaving herself wide open by lunging without any semblance of control, Raya was confident enough that her maneuver would work,hoping to blitz Kate with her speed and sheer strength. The idea was that if this would work, she would then quickly take advantage on the ground and trap her in a scissor hold, trying to finish things quickly. She only had this image in her mind, not even remotely considering the fact that her opponent wasn’t a practice dummy and wouldn’t just stand there and take it.
