Alignment: Heel
Nationality:Canadian
Fighting Style: Grappling
Personality: Raya is very cocky and has a delusional self belief that causes her to vastly overestimate herself, so whenever she loses or gets put into a tough position she tends to get shocked and frustrated and panics. She likes to trash talk her opponents before and during the match, but if things start going badly for her then she goes quiet and if the opponent gives her a taste of her own medicine she gets angry and upset, as she can dish it out but not take it.

Outside the ring, she’s a very lazy person who only likes to do things her way and refuses to compromise, trying to get the easy way and going through shortcuts as much as possible and whenever she can. She loves playing video games, especially hard ones such as souls-likes and metroidvanias, however whenever she gets stuck on them she tends to cheat by looking up ways to cheese specific bosses or implement invincibility mods or things of that nature, thus taking away most of the challenge, but she tells herself that the important thing is simply to beat them no matter what.

History:

Raya grew up in a very sheltered lifestyle, having not had to struggle to get anything, and so she was raised at home in a way that got her used to having everything she ever wanted whenever she wanted. This clashed with her social life and would cause her to always get into arguments in which her stubbornness and ego would cause her to escalate into full blown fights, which at first she almost always lost, but as she grew older and her physical abilities grew stronger, she started winning easily by relying on her physical advantages, and she liked the feeling of power and dominance it gave her. This caused her ego to grow larger and she started becoming a lot more antagonistic and mocking of others.

When she stumbled upon pro wrestling in college, it was a no brainer for her to get into it. She watched a few title matches at LAW and saw how the title winners were praised and were given the ultimate honor of being the best, and so she immediately started wrestling in various amateur places, wanting to have a taste of that glory, of having proof of the identity she’d built up in her mind and bring it out to the eternal world. However, the physical strength she would always rely upon in her younger years was no longer an advantage, as people were not only stronger and faster than her, but also possessed much better technique. She was quickly humbled and shown how high the ladder went, but instead of putting her head down and consistently practicing to become better, Raya’s ego did not allow this. She was unable to accept the idea that she wasn’t as good as she made herself out to be, she was scared of going back to the person she was years prior, always starting fights and getting beat up for it, and so to protect herself she subconsciously kept going deep in denial in a facade to show how powerful she was compared to everyone else, to prove that she was not weak and not someone that could be pushed around. However, this face would crumble right before matches, she’d get nervous and anxious and so would try to cover that up by being even more arrogant and cocky and would insult the other wrestlers to cover up for herself and try to get an advantage by psyching the other wrestler out. However, this tactic was pretty much useless due to the gap in skill between her and most of her opponents, and so she’d end up losing anyways.

She had opportunities to sign for a couple of small promotions to get started, but instead she chose to rely on a family contact, an aunt, who worked at Law, so she managed to get herself signed through this connection, thus avoiding the many hurdles she would in general need to get there by working her way up, as she wanted to showcase herself on the biggest stage despite clearly being far from ready.
Raya’s aunt had warned her that it would be better for her development to start up with the young lionesses but she insisted that she wanted to get into the big leagues right away, unable to fathom the humiliation and embarrassment of being in a training program, as it would be the same thing as admitting that she wasn’t perfect and needed to work on herself, so she ended up having some strings pulled. However, this also meant that her technical weaknesses were much more apparent and her physical abilities were no longer anything special, but the norm, and she would have to start working hard if she planned to become a good wrestler at the company and try to reach her goal of attaining the mountaintop.
