L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

Well damn, another supercard. The good news had just kept coming as of late.

Karen had only finished her bout against Serafina Kusinada in the Queen's Decree not long ago. It had been thrilling to take part in a supercard event, to have the fans cheering her name. And now? Now she was about to participate in We Are LAW; THE supercard at LAW. To say she was excited was an understatement. And they hadn't just thrown her against anyone either: "JJ" Janella Johnson was an absolute powerhouse of a woman with a long list of victories to her name. Short of someone like Alaina Sanders or Ambre Brault, Karen couldn't have asked for a more impressive opponent.

In her locker room, she took a last few seconds to limber up and get ready for the match, as much to boost her own confidence as to get physically ready. Doing a final few stretches, and admiring her fit form in the mirror, she heard her music playing in the background, and confidently turned to stride out into the arena. Yes, she thought, this was going to be good.

She was met by a chorus of cheers from the crowds as she stood on the walkway, wearing a New Zealand All Blacks t-shirt over her ring gear while Nagual’s signature haka trap remix blared around her. Hopping down the ring, she enthusiastically hi-fived her fans: though she had only had a few matches so far here in LAW, she was already accruing a not inconsiderable fanbase, and was overjoyed that people were this excited over her, especially at the beginning of a championship tournament like this.

“Our first competitor, standing at five-foot-six and weighing one hundred and fifty pounds…from Dunedin, New Zealand…KAREN GAAAAALE!”

Striding into the ring, Karen eagerly hopped up onto the bottom rope and raised her hands to the crowd, basking in their cheers. Finally, she stepped off the bottom rope, and, peeling her shirt off, stepped back to the center of the ring, waiting to see who from LAW's massive roster would be fighting her tonight...

JJ was backstage, geared up and eager to go. She was ready to make a name for herself on a big stage. She was up against a woman who reminded her of herself as well. Karen was a confident strong lady who could do everything in the ring. That reminded JJ of herself and Sienna for sure. Right now though JJ was ready to go out and plant her to the mat and stand tall afterward.

AS she exit the locker room she saw that extra little bit of motivation awaiting her as well. Kyo was going to escort her to the ring tonight. "Hey baby, you are looking sharp tonight. I am gonna do my best not to disappoint you or the fans tonight." She said with a wink as she wrapped her arm around his waist while they walked. "Is there anything you want to see to... excite you?" JJ said with a sly smile. "I think after I win, feeling the high of the fans cheers we could find us a quiet space back here." She said with her eyebrows raised.

Soon they were in gorilla and her music began to play. "Standing five foot six, weighing in at 159 pounds... Janella Johnson!" JJ went out with Kyo, waving to the fans and swaying her hips a bit but she then ran her hand gently down Kyo's chest and waved to the crowd. "Sorry but this one is mine, and this lady is off the market." She said as she looked up at Kyo during the walk down the ramp. She kissed him before she slid into the ring, standing tall and flexing as she nodded, walking around the ring and pointing out to the fans before she finally settled into her corner, staring a hole through Karen as she awaited the bell.

Just as he promised he would, Kyo was waiting for JJ outside of her locker room. He knew full well that the world of wrestling fandom had been more than a little excited when he had JJ had both been spotted together outside of the LAW grounds. Tonight would be the first time he would more or less confirm a relationship between them by accompanying JJ to the ring. Admittedly, he didn't know how to feel about that: on the one hand he wanted to be there for JJ and to support her; on the other hand he felt uneasy about having his relationships thrust into the public spotlight like this.

He put his concerns at ease, though, as JJ finally exited the locker room. He was a simple black Spiritbox t-shirt over his usual ring gear, as he had no intention of jumping into the ring today unless JJ's opponent started to cheat, but it did little to hide his fit form. "I'm looking sharp?" he responded with a smile, moving towards JJ and and wrapping an arm around her waist in turn. "You're one of the few people in this federation who can pull off tassles." As JJ flirted with him a little more, he blushed. "I...um...enjoy watching you in the ring period, no matter what you do. Though I suppose I won't mind seeing you try your stretch-o-matic. Just be careful: from what I've heard, Karen Gale isn't someone to go easy on. Although..." he added, "...I still have every bit of confidence that you will win...and I look forward to celebrating back here with you afterwards.

And with that, the two of them made their way down the ramp. The crowd went wild at JJ's entrance; they went even more wild at the fact that Kyo was accompanying her, with many people already making the judgement that they looked incredibly cute together. All the same, Kyo couldn't help but blush bashfully as JJ kissed him before sliding into the ring.

Karen had watched the two approach, with her arms folded and a grin on her face. Up close, Janella Johnson was everything that Karen saw in herself, and wanted to be: a powerful, confident black woman who kicked ass in the ring and looked great while doing it. She had absolutely no intention of losing tonight, of course, but she still felt nothing but respect for her opponent. Not that that was going to stop her from a little friendly trash talk.

"That your fella?" she asked, glancing at Kyo. "He's cute. You've caught yourself a nice one." She casually stretched her arms behind her head. "I hope he won't get too upset when I kick your ass tonight, though."

JJ heard Karen and she couldn't help but laugh. "Girl, you got good taste for someone who is delusional." JJ said as she stepped up to Karen.

"I am gonna walk out standing tall with my kind hearted wrestling king on my arm while you are laid out wondering what hit you."

The bell rang and JJ smiled circling Karen before she lunged in trying to grapple but JJ would go low at thr last minute. She was trying to yank Karen's legs out from underneath her, keeping hold to roll her over and lock in a Bosto.mn crab at the start!

And just like that, the bell rang, and the two of them were off. Karen watched JJ carefully, seeing the other girl going for a lockup. "You keep on yapping," she shot back, still smiling, "we'll see if your muscles are as strong as your mouth!"

And with that, she lunged in to meet JJ's lockup...only to be taken by surprise as the American snatched her legs out from under her at the last second, sending her crashing onto her butt! "H-hey!" Karen gasped, realizing what JJ was up to. Cursing, she spread her arms outwards, trying to prevent JJ from rolling her, while at the same time pushing out with her legs in an effort to force JJ off of her....though she gritted her teeth, finding herself really struggling to prevent the roll...

"Huh, it looks like my mouth is working just fine with the rest of me!" JJ said as Karen ended up down on her back. JJ smiled, gritting her teeth as she kept trying to force the roll over but pivoted to something else. She had Karen's legs tight under her arms. If she didn't want to roll over she could just swing!

JJ began spinning, leaning back as Karen now would begin spinning around in circles while JJ herself was executing a big swing! She knew the impact wouldn't really hurt but Karen would be disoriented and open for impactful follow up attacks. JJ wasn't going to brute force the way she would have a few months ago. She was going to wrestle smarter, adapting better and this was one such example of that. Kyo and his ring smarts were already rubbing off on her as was Sienna's training.

Karen held her breath as she narrowly managed to prevent JJ from rolling her. The American was aggressive, strong...just like her, Karen thought to herself, but she also had the ring smarts to immediately put Karen on the defensive. No doubt about it, the management had found a good opponent for her tonight: Karen almost smiled at this, but unfortunately for her JJ was just getting started, as the American started to swing her around by her legs!

"Shit--" Karen gasped, the spin causing a wave of nausea to wash over her. A second later, JJ released her, and Karen slammed back-first into the mat. She grunted from the impact, and rolled, clutching her back, though if anything, right now she was more dizzy than hurt...

JJ let go and sent Karen flying to the mat and JJ herself was a bit dizzy but nowhere near as bad off as Karen. She smiled and moved in, yanking Karen up and lifting her off her feet and up onto JJ's shoulders. She smiled and winked at Kyo as she was in motion, wasting no time in falling back to send Karen crashing down to the mat with a big samoan drop! JJ was hoping to really get going on the right foot here, knowing a big win would help her record obviously but she wanted to impress her new guy at ringside as much as anything else.

Karen groaned as she rolled on her back, still feeling more than a little dizzy after being spun around like a top by JJ. She tried to push herself up to her hands and knees, conscious that JJ was not going to go easy on her now that she was down...

She felt JJ's arms wrapping around her at that moment, hoisting her upwards. For a brief moment, she was conscious that JJ, showing an incredibly amount of strength, was lifting her up onto her shoulders. Past the dizziness, Karen gave a slow, confused blink.A Samoan drop...?

Yes, it was a Samoan drop, as Karen quickly discovered as JJ slammed her back-first into the ring! She cried out in pain from the impact, and for a moment lay flat on her back, groaning from the sheer power of the slam...
