L.A.W. - League of Anime Wrestling

It had been a while since Brianna Steele - otherwise known as the Black Tornado, noted showwoman, luchadora, and USPW Wildcat Champion - had last shown herself in LAW. That was all the way back at Fight the LAW 2, where she had announced an open challenge for her title and successfully defended it against Jem Holland. A lot had changed in the years since. Champions had come and gone, and the Tornado had made appearances in other promotions. As she grew more confident in her personal and sexual life, she'd decided to open her marriage with Jonathan Steele, with the two of them mutually dating a few of their fellow wrestlers. She'd even decided to try a new look by cutting her hair to a bob cut. But one thing that hadn't changed was that Brianna was still Wildcat Champion - and she was still willing to work with LAW.

Tonight would serve as a reminder of that. As the lights dimmed in the arena, the speakers would suddenly crackle with the sound of the Black Tornado's unmistakable theme music - the first time it had been heard at a LAW show in years! Some of the fans, recognizing what this meant, began to cheer, while others, who weren't as familiar with the Tornado and her exploits, could only watch in anticipation of what might happen next. Either way, when a purple light shone over the entrance ramp, and Brianna stepped through the curtains with the Wildcat Championship still draped around her shoulder, there were plenty of cheers to greet her!

Jogging along the aisle, Tornado waved her hand to the fans on either side of her as she closed in on the ring. There, she took a step up onto the apron before leaning in closer, planting her hand on the middle rope, and springing up into the air in a vault over the ropes, her legs kicking skyward in an arc! She came to rest seated on the top rope, holding her belt over her head as she took in all the cheers and camera flashes that went off around her. Then, she hopped down into the middle of the ring. With a grin on her face and her hands on her hips, Brianna looked around to survey all the cheering fans - and that was a sight that could only make her grin grow wider. She never shied away from putting on a spectacle, and it seemed like her return to LAW had hit the mark!

In particular, Brianna looked toward ringside, where a few of her partners - Ash Daniels and Talia Chavez, were seated. She threw them a wink and blew a kiss, knowing that they were particularly eager to see her tonight. With that, though, she took a microphone from a crew member, turning to greet the world!

"HELLOOOOOO, LAW!!"

Brianna took a pause to let the fans get their uproar of cheers in before she continued, strolling around the ring. "It's been a while, hasn't it? I know some of you recognize me - but for those who don't, you're looking at the one and only Black Tornado, luchadora extraordinaire, and still USPW Wildcat Champion! The last time I was in a ring like this one, it was all the way back at Fight the LAW 2, for the first open defense of my title in this company! Well, Jem Holland couldn't do it - and no one else who's come at me in the meantime could, either! So, I figured it was high time to put things back on the table!"

Pivoting on her heel, Brianna spun to face the other side of the arena, jabbing a finger in their direction. "And if there's a time to do it...that time is now, isn't it? After all...we're all gearing up for the next We Are LAW in Beijing! I've never been to China, but I'm certainly not going to pass up an opportunity to see the world...and even better than that is an opportunity to add another country to the list of places I've defended my championship in! The only thing I need...is an opponent!"

Crossing her arms, Brianna stood tall, turning her chin skyward. "And that's why I came here today - to announce that the open challenge for the Wildcat Championship is open once more! If there's anyone backstage who's ready to face me at We Are LAW, this is your invitation! Come on out here and show me you think you're good enough - because you're going to get taken for a ride when the Tornado rolls into Beijing!"

It seemed like it would be another night in the LAW locker room for Sophia Sanders. The big blonde powerhouse superhero was alone in her locker room thanks in part to LAW management agreeing with her to have her own room to keep her identity a secret. Even though on one hand Sophia was grateful for them agreeing to her conditions to help keep her gimmick alive even behind the camera, having one room all to yourself can feel isolating at times, and it was surely taking it's tole on the superhero tonight. There she sitting in a crouch position with a frown on her face as it seemed like LAW only called her to be in tonight if they needed a backup replacement on the card for tonight's show, something Sophia wasn't too happy about."I don't want to seem entitled but you think after a successful showing at Fight The LAW and Slam-A-Thon, they would have me be a regular right?" She spoke out allowed to herself like a comic book character frustrated with how she was being treated as a young lioness rather than the successful indie star she was being built up as when LAW signed her contract. The only thing that kept her busy was tossing a rubber ball at the floor and watching it hit the wall and ricocheting off with her catching it, however that pastime to pass the boredom grew into anger with each passing second. Sophia couldn't help but feel like a side show despite her talent and being couped up in a room all by her lonesome just throwing a ball back and forth off the wall started to get on her nerves as without realizing it, her motion grew faster and faster each having more anger behind it until one catch she just stood up gritting her teeth with her eyes having a furious glare like a bear as she pivoted her footing as she reeled back her arm tightening her muscles as she threw the rubber ball with ferocity at the other side of the wall! "GRAHH!!" She roared out as she threw it only for the ball to bounce off and hit her right in the shoulder before dropping down to the floor right beside her feet. Now standing Sophia took deep breathes in and out trying to release the tension in her body. "Damn it, I could've broken the TV if it was an inch closer....." She muttered out scratching her head in frustration as she would've had to play money out of her own pocket if that happened. "Well no use throwing a temper tantrum, let's see who got booked instead." Sophia continued to mutter still disappointed in her situation as she begrudgingly sat down and turned on the TV.


It seemed as if Sopha turned it on at the right time as tonight's events were starting to get underway as while at first Sophia watched disinterested and only watching to pass the time, that would soon quickly change however as Black Tornado came bursting out through the gorilla and onto the arena!!! In an instant Sophia's bored expression turned into one of excitement as she saw one of her personal favorite wrestlers announce her big comeback to LAW as she crawled over to the TV screen like a spider at a fast rate to be face first Infront of the television just to make sure her eyes weren't playing tricks on her and thankfully they weren't. "Wait WHAT!? SHE'S BACKKKK!!!!!!?" Sophia yelled out excitedly as she was hugging the TV keeping her eyes glued to the screen wanting to hear what Tornado had to say for her big comeback. Even if they were only a few years apart in age that didn't change the fact Sophia was a longtime admirer of Tornado's work even going to a convention, she was at in her starting wrestling gear just to get an autograph and picture that she still kept framed to this very day! Sophia sat their eargly anticipating what she would say to the crowd until Tornado finally announced it....."An op..Open...chall.enge...challenge......!?" Sophia leaned back fumbling her words trying to let all sink in before it finally did, and once it did, Sophia jumped up fist bumping the air in excitement as this could be a big opportunity, not only facing against one of her favorite wrestlers but it would her first match in LAW where she would be fighting a fellow superhero themed wrestler, the idea made the little girl who grew up reading comic books and seeing the times heroes would have to fight each other whether it be Secret Wars, Civil War, or whatever else loose her mind with excitement and without thinking almost left the room unmasked before she opened the door. "Ohhhhh crap!!!!" She squealed as a backstage worker almost saw her true face before she slammed the door going back to get her gear on in a hurry while also texting a certain someone to see if they were backstage to come along when the time was right. Now that was she geared up, Gloria Star rushed through the backstage arena hoping against hope no one else took her spot as she made it behind the curtain. "Please....telll....me... I'm... the first... one... here...?" Gloria panted as running that fast at a breakneck pace left her a bit exhausted as she stopped to catch herself letting deep breathes of air while keeping her eyes on the official hoping no one came out. "Nope.... you made it just in time" The official said with Gloria letting out a sigh of relief and a chuckle upon hearing the good news. "Thanks.... tell them to play my song.... I'll be out in a minute..." Gloria continued her short breathes of air as she began to straighten herself out trying to look confident like a true hero as waited for LAW to start her theme up.

It had only been three minutes, and the audience still kept their eyes on the entrance ramp, but it seemed like no one was interested in taking on the Tornado..... until suddenly the lights dimmed, the speakers began to play Gloria's theme. Some people recognized it and began to cheer as they knew what was coming next as the strobe lights began to go around in the colors of red, white and blue with all of them centering in on the entrance ramp until Gloria Star came out raring to go with a cocky smile on her face that just screamed enthusiasm for tonight. For a moment she stood tall at the top ramp with her hands firmly placed on the sides of her hips as she had her eyes focused dead center on Black Tornado.

As she began to march down the aisle Gloria would keep to her hero nature and give some attention to the fans, giving them high fives and fist bumps and even stopping to hug a kid who was a big fan of her work before turning her focus back to Tornado. As she made to the front of the outside of the ring, the caped superhero would step up the steel steps taking a moment to dust off her boots on the outside of the ring before perching herself up the top corner and aiming to jump off letting her cape and hair flow through the wind before doing a classic superhero landing as she rise up to face to face with the tornado. The young blonde kept her gaze on her she extended her hand out, not for a handshake but for the microphone to let her have a moment to speak as the cheering crowd began to simmer down as Gloria placed the mic up to her lips.

"HELLLLLLLOOOO LAWWW!!!!" Gloria following in Tornado's footsteps did her own hello to the audience as she circled around seeing the uproar that came from it. Once they quieted down once again Gloria shifted her focus back to the woman who stood right in front of her this evening. "Before we begin, I just wanna say, big fan. I mean it's not hard to see why I've been a long time admirer of your work." Gloria spoke but rather than saying something confident or intimating, she stook to her superhero gimmick and instead made a playful joke to Tornado wanting to make it clear off the bat, she had no hatred or wrong motivations to her challenge here tonight."You may not remember me but a few years go I went to a convention back when I was starting off in the industry in my old ring gear. I was first in line at your booth to get a picture and autograph from you. I had to save up I had left from my ring matches to not only buy my ticket, but also the photo and autograph from you since the rest went straight into my college tuition.... Some may say I was being reckless, but it was worth it as seeing a fellow superhero clad wrestler, inspired me to keep going." Gloria stood there like a statue not taking her eyes off for her a second, remembering when she started off in this business before she became a household name. She spoke with nothing but warmth and friendliness in her voice as that day truly meant the world to her and even began to chuckle thinking back to the time she had to use whatever money she could to do stuff she wanted to do instead of store them all into her college tuition. "However, I'm not just here to bring up the old days of when I started off as a superhero in training!" Gloria cleared her throat and began raise her voice to hype up the crowd as she began to walk around Tornado. "I'm here to answer your challenge, I've been dreaming of this day for a long time. A We Are LAW match against two superheroes to determine who would come out on top!? It sounds like something that only come from a comic book itself!" Gloria continued pointing her thumb at herself before chuckling at her own analogy for this bout as the crowd began to cheer the idea. "But there's a tiny problem...." Gloria cut through the arena's cheers as wagged her finger in front of Tornado's face almost sarcastically. "You would only qualify for the undercard given you have one match here in LAW. I would qualify for the main event.... and I don't know about you but does a title match before the belt you have had for YEARS be put on the line not just for your big return but your first EVER WE ARE LAW MATCH!?" Gloria continued on pacing back and forth explaining her reasoning while putting important emphasis on some of her words by gesturing to the audience. "How about instead of a title match we do a simple Last Woman Standing? And who knows if I win maybe I'll consider asking for a real title shot." Gloria offered while chuckling at a future title match idea. Now however, the ball was in Tornado's corner as Gloria held the mic out for her waiting to see what her answer will with an eager expression on her face as now the crowd was sucked into this idea as well, as they all waited for Tornado's response.

After making her speech, Brianna stood in the ring, her hands on her hips and her back held straight with pride as she watched the entrance ramp for any signs of a challenger willing to step up to the task. She didn't know who would come through the curtain - certainly, the prospect of a title shot, even one from a different promotion, would appeal to just about anyone. But when the music began to play, it caught Brianna's attention just as much as the champion's own music had caught that of the fans. She'd been busy with her own work in USPW, so she hadn't been following much in the greater wrestling world and didn't recognize Gloria Star right away. But when she saw the towering figure resplendent in vivid colors and dynamic styles enter to a chorus of cheers, Brianna stood a little straighter with a grin on her face. She could hardly look away after her challenger had set an impression like that!

Her eyes were fixed on Gloria for every step she took on her march down toward the ring - and when Gloria stood proudly atop the turnbuckle, cape flying behind her, they went a little wider. Tornado had carved out a name for herself in the hearts and minds of fans, and she wore their adoration with pride knowing that she had become a larger-than-life personality - but even she couldn't help but feel like she was in the presence of a bona fide superhero with how majestic an aura Gloria projected! And if that wasn't impressive enough, Gloria would draw a few cheers and gasps a moment later, when she jumped from atop the post to alight on the mat below with a sense of grace that seemed impossible for a woman of her sheer size and bulk!

But what truly caught Brianna's attention wasn't what Gloria looked like, or how she moved. That came from knowing even a woman so imposing, so commanding, and so majestic, who seemed to exist on a level beyond anything even Brianna could conceive of, still looked up to her - as a fellow wrestler and superhero, and as a source of inspiration that kept her striving for success in the business. Brianna didn't recognize Gloria at first, but as soon as she mentioned meeting her at that convention, the luchadora gasped. In that moment, she knew exactly who she was talking to. "Heh...you know," she began, "I used to think I was the hopeless wrestling nerd who lost my mind every time I was around a big star. Trust me, you should see my autograph collection! But knowing that there's people who feel just the same way about me is something that truly tickles at my heart. Even more so when I know I've inspired those fans to go as far as you have - the woman who's standing in front of me right now! Let me just say that - what an entrance! Oh, man, you nailed it! If this is what I've inspired, well...I think I've achieved something in life!"

Brianna chuckled a little at her own joke - but then, Gloria continued. She didn't want a title match. To her, their place on the card simply wouldn't do such a clash of titans justice! She wanted something else - a Last Woman Standing match! At once, the brunette's jaw dropped in a gasp. Surely, Gloria had the look, the presence, and the talent to cement herself as a champion any promotion would've wanted. But she wouldn't be content with that! To her, the experience of going up against a fellow superhero - and the woman who had shaped her into what she was today - was all she needed. And she wanted any bout between them to land with the gravitas it deserved!

As she listened to the words, a bright grin flashed across the Tornado's face. She eagerly nodded her head. "Heh...so, you've got a title shot right in front of you...and you'd be willing to turn that down, just because it wouldn't be the big moment you'd want it to be? Yeah, you're someone who wants to put on a good show, all right...and I'd say that's my style!" She winked to Gloria, then stepped forward, extending a hand. Even if Gloria towered above her, Brianna didn't seem the least bit intimidated by her size. She couldn't afford to think such things when she was so thrilled by the prospect of a match against a woman as compelling as Gloria was, who seemed to resonate with the same sense of showmanship and theatrics as she did! The fans were already eager to see such a clash of superheroes play out - and Brianna was right there with them!

"Consider it a challenge accepted!" she said, and her words were met by a cheer. "I just hope you're ready - because I didn't get this belt for nothing!"

This was Gloria big moment, not only by answering Tornado's challenge she would get a spot in We Are LAW, but this was would also be a chance to face off against one her own Idols in the ring, so everything about her entrance had to be perfect. Gloria's theme played blasting through the arena and thankfully despite LAW screwing her over with not enough booking, the audience still popped off upon hearing her music. "They... love me..." A warm smile was brought to the face of the superhero as even if she only had four matches, the audience wanted to see more of the Indie star now finally on the biggest promotion of woman's wrestling. As such the superhero had to return the favor by high fiving her fans down the aisle and stopping for photos to flex her biceps before making her way into the ring in dramatic fashion, now being face to face with one of her Idols.

At first being face to face with one of her inspirations made Gloria a bit nervous, it's not every day she would get the chance to challenge one of her Idols. Gloria could feel her heart pounding more and more as she began to spoke but had to push it to the back of her head as she spoke with confidence booming from her voice as she made her challenge clear much to the shock and awe of not just the audience but also Tornado. While it is true Gloria had the skills to normally request a title shot from any promotion, she stepped foot in, for this match however it would be different. To Gloria a title match between fellow superheroes should be a main event card level match, not something on the undercard to just be there to hype up the main event carder matches. Even if Tornado was defending a belt from a completely different promotion, that didn't matter to Gloria, if one of them couldn't compete on the main card then that title match would surely have to wait some other day, it doesn't matter if it was in LAW or USPW, Gloria would gladly wait for that day to come. So instead, Gloria wanted to offer a compromise, a match still on the undercard but something that could get the audience excited for this clash of two of LAW's resident superheroes! It seemed to have paid off as it made the crowd even more excited than before, but now Gloria stood there towering over Black Tornado and lowered her eyes down waiting to see her response.

As Gloria listened to Tornado's words, Gloria couldn't help but have a warm smile beam across her face as Tornado realized that the tall, muscular woman that stood before her was the young nerd who wore a basic leotard with the American flag on it, who waited all morning to be first in line to meet her at a wrestling convention she was attending when the blonde started out. Despite the fact it had been a decade since that initial meeting, it still meant a lot to Sophia as she still has it framed in her room to this very day. Heck despite it being a year since that day, Tornado was still in Sophia's eyes the woman she admired as they were one in the same as she would also loose her mind meeting people who inspired her. However, what truly touched Sophia's hear was hearing Black Tornado praise her for her work and entrance down to the ring truly capturing the comic book hero aesthetic as Sophia let out a tender chuckle alongside Tornado with a small tear of joy going down her face! "Thank you.... You don't know how much that truly means to a gal like me..." Gloria said softly back to her as she cleared her throat trying to keep her composure to make sure more tears don't come out as she lowered her head to hide her current tear before bobbing her head back up. "I would hug you but hearing such praise from a woman who inspired me.... I might accidentally end up bearhugging you instead!" Sophia chuckled at her own joke as well extending her arm to give her a pat on the shoulder before pulling it back to hear what else she had to say.

At first Sophia wasn't at all surprised by the audience's or even Tornado gasping at her wanting to change the conditions of the match. Afterall who wouldn't? A lady such as Tornado making her big comeback and putting out an open title for anyone who walked through the gorilla first and onto the ring, only to see a fellow superhero such as herself answering the call but to only change when she has a chance to take her title would shock just about anyone. Thankfully however, despite asking for different terms and conditions, she could still see the eager expression Tornado had around her face and Sophia knew that she made the right decision even more her future opponent opened her lips."Exactly, after all if I want to claim a title from a woman I've admired since I started out, I would only want it to be on the main card, anything else would be a disservice to a woman like you Black Tornado." Gloria grinned as she responded back with a firm respect to her fellow superhero as they began to shake hands. Gloria kept a firm grip as they shook hands together but in all honestly she was hoping she didn't squeeze too hard because while she looked controlled on the outside, on the inside she was squealing with glee like a school girl as she was finally getting to face off against one of her dream opponents and managed to control herself from geeking out right in front of her idols. Gloria just took deep breaths through her nose to keep herself organize as the crowd was already ready to see these two fight it out.

"Oh, don't worry I just hope your ready because I've been training my whole career to take on you, I didn't become an Indie star for nothing!" Gloria shot back letting out a little laugh to show it was all in good fun before she broke the hand shake. At this point people thought it was over and Gloria would leave to get prepared but, Gloria still stood in front of her with many audience's members being left puzzled. "is she gonna attack her or something?" One audience member thought as Gloria gestured the mic from Tornado. Once it was given to her Gloria pressed it below her mouth and began to speak back into it. "Now I know this is where I would typically leave and go train..... but there's one last announcement I have to announce..." Gloria began to walk slowly around the ring speaking to the crowd and Tornado about why she hadn't already left making sure to pause on the perfect moment to catch their attention. Gloria stopped having her back be turned on the side of the entrance ramp as Gloria began to raise a playful eyebrow. "You know this got me thinking..... this is after all my very first We Are LAW.... and thankfully.... I was able to speak to the right people if I would ever get the chance to compete at such a prestigious event, a certain someone would accompany me to the ring..." Gloria chuckled as she continued to speak causally into the microphone to get more people leaning in their seats now on edge to see who this mysterious guest would be.

Gloria pivoted her feet turning around to face the entrance ramp and point directly at it. "It's my honor.... to annouce..... that the woman who will be coming with me to We Are LAW 8, is not just any ordinary woman.... BUT THEEE WOMAN who inspired a small only child to work her ass off to be a professional wrestler and would take time out of her day to give her any tips and pointers whenever she got the chance to meet with her hoping that small dreamer would become the woman she is today!!!!" Gloria shouted in the microphone gripping it tightly as she took pauses to not only create fan speculation but something deeper. Gloria needed this reveal to be perfect, to get the chance to announce who would be accompanying her to her first We Are LAW was an honor this mysterious woman gave her blessing so now with one last deep breathe Gloria was about to announce who it was..."So with that all being said..... COME ON OUT ALAINA SANDERS-HAINES!!!!!!!!" Gloria announced loudly and with passion as if she were a ring announcer as now everyone began to gasp as it was one of the legends of not just woman's pro wrestling but one of the all-time legends of wrestling in general.... ALAINA SANDERS-HAINES!!!! Gloria's own auntie would be accompanying her to the ring even if the law audience and higher ups had no idea of their family relationship, so for now it would just seem as if Gloria was just a longtime fan of the Amazon who got the chance to ask for pointers while training and got to become wrestling friends throughout the years. Now Gloria watched with a smile that no one could imagine as she waited for her aunties music to play as on the inside, she began to cry tears of joy knowing what was about to happen.

Alaina was waiting backstage dressed in her two piece leopard print attire with matching kneepads and boots. She knew Sophia... well, Gloria was going to ask her to accompany her down to the ring and of course she said yes. Gloria was her family although she knew that Gloria kept that fact quiet to avoid any accusations of nepotism. Alaina understood that and did her best to keep things quiet too.

When she heard her name announced by Gloria she exit into the arena and smiled, striking a pose and flexing up top very briefly before walking down the ramp. She high fived a few people but made her way down to Gloria's corner and clapped. She pointed to Gloria and gave her a nod as she was all smiles outside the ring. "You got this girl, focus on the match, stick to your game plan and make it happen!" Alaina shouted as she turned and pumped a fist for the crowd trying to rally them and get them in Gloria's corner as well. Alaina was eager to see things get going in that ring, and she knew Gloria had what it took to emerge victorious.
